"I TRUST YOU WILL BE SENSITIVE TO HIS REQUEST"

Pastor Tommy Barnett, Phoenix First Assembly of God.

Pastor Barnett is dedicated to encouraging and empowering the disadvantaged with outreaches to win souls and also designed to meet physical, spiritual, and long-term needs. He is known as one of the greatest soul winners of all times. He travels not only throughout America but all over the globe speaking at church growth conferences inspiring and equipping pastors and leaders to build great soul winning churches in their cities. The annual Pastors' School he hosts in Phoenix is one of the largest, most influential, and practical of its kind. Pastor Barnett is respected for church building and although he has been honored for his work in his churches in Iowa and Arizona, the desire to work with the "lost" of Los Angeles had been burning in his heart for years. His dream became a reality in 1994 when he was invited to launch the Los Angeles Dream Center as a home missions project. Together with his son Pastor Matthew Barnett he has been used by God to restore dreams and renew hope in the inner city of Los Angeles. With over 50 years in the ministry, Pastor Tommy Barnett is uniquely qualified to lead the great work of social outreach in Los Angeles as he provides the vision, leadership, training, and financial oversight for the Dream Center.

"SUPPORT HIM AND YOU WILL SHARE IN GOD'S "WELL DONE THOU GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT"

Brother Andrew, Open Doors.

Anne van der Bijl (born 11 May 1928), known in English-speaking countries as Brother Andrew, is a Christian missionary, famous for his exploits smuggling Bibles to communist countries in the height of the Cold War, a feat that has earned him the nickname "God's Smuggler". Brother Andrew studied at the Bible Training Institute (now the International Christian College) in Glasgow, Scotland. Van der Bijl was born in Sint Pancras, the Netherlands, and was the fourth of six children to a poor blacksmith.
In July 1955, he visited communist Poland, "to see how my brothers are doing", referring to the underground church. He signed up to a communist youth group, which was the only legal way to stay in the country. In that time he felt himself to be called to respond to the Biblical commission "Wake up, strengthen what remains and is about to die" (Revelation 3:2). This was the start of a mission leading him into several communist-ruled countries where Christians were persecuted - those behind the "Iron Curtain". In 1957 Van der Bijl travelled to the Soviet Union's capital Moscow in a Volkswagen Beetle, which later became the symbol of Open Doors, the organization he founded. A friend had given him the car, because it could hide several Bibles and spiritual literature. Brother Andrew visited China in the 60s, after the Cultural Revolution had created a hostile policy towards Christianity and other religions. It was the time of the so-called Bamboo Curtain. He came to Czechoslovakia, when the suppression by Soviet troops of the "Prague Spring" had put an end to relative religious freedom there. He encouraged fellow believers there and gave Bibles to Russian occupying forces. In 1976 some African countries came under atheist rule. He wrote a book about the spiritual struggle on this continent and in congresses called upon local Christian leaders to strengthen their communities.

"I AM DELIGHTED TO SUPPORT THIS PROJECT WHICH WILL MEET A REAL NEED IN THE THIRD WORLD. IT IS WONDERFUL TO HOW GEOFF IS USING HIS EXPERIENCE OF DISABILITY TO HELP MANY PEOPLE WITH SIMILIAR PROBLEMS. THE COST OF THESE WHEELCHAIRS IS SURPRISINGLY LOW AND I DO HOPE THAT THE PROJECT WILL RECEIVE WIDESPREAD SUPPORT.

Mayor of Hemel Hempstead UK 2005-2006
Dr. Jane Hogg M.R.C.P., M.R.C.P.G.P.

"HERE IN THE UK WE TAKE PROVISION OF WHEELCHAIRS FOR GRANTED AND CANNOT IMAGINE THE LIFE OF A DISABLED PERSON WITHOUT ONE. WE SHOULD AIM TO GIVE A WHEELCHAIR TO EVERY DISABLED PERSON IN THE WORLD. TO SEE THE SMILES AND HEAR THEIR LAUGHTER WOULD BE REWARD ENOUGH. I FULLY SUPPORT THE "GEOFF BONE WHEELCHAIR PROJECT" AND HOPE AND PRAY THAT MANY PEOPLE AND COMPANIES WILL BACK THE APPEAL.

Mike Penning - Member of Parliament for Hemel Hempstead. UK

"HOW I THANK GOD FOR YOU, AND THE WAY YOU HAVE PERSEVERED IN SUCH A VITAL MINISTRY OVER SO MANY YEARS. THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR LOVE, LOYALTY AND FRIENDSHIP THROUGH THE YEARS. YOU ARE SUCH A GREAT EXAMPLE OF GRACE AND REALITY"

George Verwer - Special ~Projects (Operation Mobilization)

George Verwer is the founder and former International Director of Operation Mobilisation which is a ministry of evangelism, discipleship training and church planting. George has a burning concern for vital, propagating and revolutionary Christianity in his own life and in those he meets. Saved at the age of 16 in a Jack Wyrtzen meeting in which Billy Graham spoke in Madison Square Garden, New York, George returned to his school in northern New Jersey. Within a year about 200 of his classmates had found a relationship with the living God through Jesus Christ. George had a growing conviction to share the Word of God on foreign soil. He started with distribution of Gospels of John in Mexico along with two friends. This continued with others during summer holidays — beginning in Mexico in 1957. Attending Maryville College after high school, he transferred to Moody Bible Institute where he met a girl, Drena, who was a fellow student and later became his wife. They were led together in discipling young Christians while concurrently carrying out a rigorous programme of world evangelism. George and his wife, Drena, have three adult children. They make their home in England, the international headquarters of OM. George shares the Christian revolution of love and balance right around the world. He starts at home emphasizing the need to worship God, to live in fellowship with one another by walking in the light, and live a disciplined life of victory as forgiven, repentant, Cross-centered Christians.
