God's Awesome Creation
My Poetry
And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:10

The Sea

There's personal magnetism in the sea.
It's calling you to take you by the hand.
Go now, and don't refuse,
But don't abuse the beauty that you'll see.
With its power alternating
From calm, to moderate, to rough.
You'll find it fascinating,
Like glass, fragile and tough.
We've seen its different moods
In its usual quiet phase,
In the light of the moon,
With its gentle and happy face.
We've heard its angry roar,
Perhaps in one ferocious bout,
When snowy white caps form,
And pound with foam in mouth.
But we know soon after that,
When the battle had been won.
We'll see its usual smiling face,
Caressing, and kissing the golden sand.

Gallant Knight

TODAY, I SHALL CONQUER"
This was my long time Dream
To discover, and conquer an unexplored domain.
As I pivoted in the midst of space,
Surrounded only by a circle of haze.
I was captured by a serene satisfaction of ecstasy and awe.
But wait! I was not alone. Was I expected?
A gallant knight dressed in armour confronted me
As if waiting for my arrival...Motionless, swords drawn,
Not to attack, but to defend.
The warrior had no intentions to retreat.
But was adamant to protect the domain,
Where I could not possibly remain, for a long period of time.
Lost in an amphora of thoughts,
I almost waved goodbye to the crustacean,
As I followed the air-bubbles to the surface.
The shrimp-like creature taught me,
That I only had visiting privileges to the underwater world,
And I almost dismissed the idea of,
"TODAY, I SHALL CONQUER."

This poem came to me as I was scuba diving 85 feet down at Tober Morey, Ontario, Canada (open water test). I was amazed by this little creature not bigger than my little finger. It did not give an inch. Very inspiring
lesson.

Precious Time

Close your eyes and remain silent,
Can you hear the clock's chime?
With each tick and passing second,
Ask yourself how you used time.

That's time past and has no value,
If you're old or in your prime,
It's important to remember,
Is what you'r doing with your time.

For each tick and every hour,
Years you wasted seem a crime.
But of the utmost importance,
Is how you use your precious time.

Now stand up and break the silence,
Make your plans to be sublime,
And deternine to use wisely,
Available future's precious time.

Tribute to my Mother
____________________

I remember when I was five,
Everything seemed to be alive.
A dog, a cat and even a lizard,
The sun, the moon and even a blizzard.

Just one year later when I was six,
Began to develop the rumour of war.
By golly it started did not take that long.
For bombs by the Nazis to drop on our shore.

I remember we started to collect all tinned stuff,
Load wooden boxes to stock for when scarce.
We played grocery store with them,
But things became rough.
And finally war started it was no bluff

My father a sailor his ship went away,
And left us with mother who struggled all day.
Four children to care for, to feed and to cloth,
No husband to help her and give her a hand.
Alone my poor mother stood it alone,
But love was there, we called it a home.

The war lingered and went for six years,
We laughed and we cried and shed few more tears.
But God was the centre of family and land,
Protection He gave us and blessings He sent.

Malta was centre of all the bombardments,
Bombs by the Nazis dropped on appartments,
Opera House, auberges, farms and houses,
Palaces, schools and even the churches,
Were bombed and all turned to ashes.

Many were killed and maimed by the thousands,
For freedom and peace for our loving country.
But I also remember the love of my mother,
The food she collected and kept in the pantry.
For us to survive even by ration,
While the bombs were still lashing.

I remember the rumour of the invasion,
Of Malta was planned, was Hitler's intentions.
But failure was his, and his indignation.
Because of his hate and evil frustration.

When I was twelve The war than has ended.
The ships came in and flour they landed.
Thank God for His blessings that we have strived.
For peace at last that we survived.

The Maltese George Cross

To all the Maltese Heroes of World War II

The Maltese suffered during World War Two,
They have forgotten the comfort of home.
They lived in shelters in constant fear.
Amongst constant prayers, and lack of food.
They prayed through blackouts at night.
For their stomachs to have their next bite.
Cooking was not allowed at home.
All food was cooked at the Victory Kitchen.
Deprived from basic nutrition.
No veggies, no beef, not even some chicken.
Bread was like eating a piece of black coal.
Spoonful of scrambled egg per person a day.
But they stood tall against the Nazi regime.
And trusted in God to send what He may.
At the Amazement of King George the Sixth.
He awarded them the highest degree.
And the George cross remains on the flag.
As a reminder of their acts of gallantry.
