America the beautiful, or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrims' pride; I'm glad they'll never see.
Babies piled in dumpsters, Abortion on demand,

Our children wander aimlessly poisoned by cocaine,
Choosing to indulge their lusts, when God has said abstain.
From sea to shining sea, our Nation turns away
From the teaching of God's love and a need to always pray.

We've kept God in our temples, how callous we have grown.
When earth is but His footstool, and Heaven is His throne.
We've voted in a government that's rotting at the core,
Appointing Godless Judges who throw reason out the door,

Too soft to place a killer in a well deserved tomb,
But brave enough to kill a baby before he leaves the womb.
You think that God's not angry, that our land's a moral slum?
How much longer will He wait before His judgment comes?

How are we to face our God, from Whom we cannot hide?
What then is left for us to do, but stem this evil tide?
If we who are His children, will humbly turn and pray;

1-As you walk up the steps to the building which houses the U.S. Supreme Court you can see near the top of the building a row of the world's law givers and each one is facing one in the middle who is facing forward with a full frontal view ... it is Moses and he is holding the Ten Commandments!

2-As you enter the Supreme Court courtroom, the two huge oak doors have the Ten Commandments engraved on each lower portion of each door.

3-As you sit inside the courtroom, you can see the wall, right above where the Supreme Court judges sit, a display of the Ten commandments!

4-There are Bible verses etched in stone all over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in Washington, D.C.

5-James Madison, the fourth president, known as "The Father of Our Constitution" made the following statement: "We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."

6-Patrick Henry, that patriot and Founding Father of our country said: "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ".

7-Every session of Congress begins with a prayer by a paid preacher, whose salary has been paid by the taxpayer since 1777.

8-Fifty-two of the fifty-five founders of the Constitution were members of the established orthodox churches in the colonies.

9-Thomas Jefferson worried that the Courts would overstep their authority and instead of interpreting the law would begin making law an oligarchy the rule of few over many.

10-The very first Supreme Court Justice, John Jay, said: "Americans should select and prefer Christians as their rulers." How, then, have we gotten to the point that everything we have done for 220 years in this country is now suddenly wrong and unconstitutional? Lets put it around the world and let the world see and remember what this great country was built on.

It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God. Therefore, it is very hard to understand why there is such a mess about having the Ten Commandments on display or "In God We Trust" on our money and having God in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The fallacy of pure logic in the legal world.

The challenged phrase “under God” has been in the Pledge of Allegiance for more than 45 years.
All of the sudden, we have established a religion by including it!

It looks like IN-famous Madelyn Murray O’Hair may get her wish - from the grave. Who-knows-how-many years ago, she wanted God stricken from this great land of ours. And at the rate the American Communist Liberties Union is going, it may be just that. Because now the US government will probably have to:

Remove all crosses from all gravesites at the Arlington National cemetery - and all other government owned cemeteries.
And they will have to recall all money, paper and coins - so that they can grind off or mark out the word GOD, and replace it with “In MONEY we trust”.
And they are going to have to rewrite the Declaration of Independence, because at the top is the date July 4, 1776, which is use of the Roman Calendar, which can be traced back to zero AD when Jesus Christ was born, and that is a violation of church and state.
And the Constitution is unconstitutional for the same reason.
And all letterheads written or printed or typed by Federal or State agencies will have to omit dates for the same reason.
And any reference in any government documents to any kind or type of Creator is a reference to God, so will be null and void.
And all sticks in the ground in the shape of crosses where some loved-one died in an auto accident will have to be removed because they are on state or federal property.
And all Christian music played on Sunday (or any other day) will have to be muffled or quit altogether because the air through which it travels is state or federal property.
And containing any reference to God or containing any dates based on the Roman calendar, or Hebrew calendar (because it can be traced back to Adam and Eve) will be prohibited.
And it will be unconstitutional to lick postage stamps because God invented saliva (and the tongue).
And the Sun will have to be darkened over the US because God created it.
And the moon from which we get moonlight at night will have to be turned to blood because He created the lesser light to rule the night.
And all vegetation will stop growing because of this, and also because the process of photosynthesis was designed by God. And all air we breathe will have to cease because it is produced by photosynthesis.
And the ACLU will have to cease because they need air to breathe, and food to live, and sunlight to carry on their idiocies.

The Truth About the Spread of Aids
In 1977 the subject of AIDS was practically unheard of. In fact, it had only been referred to in passing as a remote problem in some parts of Africa. It was rarely alluded to on the news, if at all. In the early '80's, there were only few isolated cases in major cities, and practically none in the Midwest or remote areas.

At that time, we were informed that the AIDS virus could only be transmitted by drug related transmission, blood transfusions or intercourse. It was ludicrous to even suggest that it might be transmitted any other way. Not only that, but I can remember how the whole problem was played down - not to be concerned about it becoming of any major proportion. In 1987 there were approximately 31,000 cases in the U.S. By 1991, that number increased to 270,000. At that time, they were predicting that by the year 2000 the entire U.S. may be infected.

Not only had statistics become more serious than previously considered, but also, there were other concessions about the means of transmittal.

AIDS is an acronym for Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome. It is a contagious, infectious, communicable disease that results from a person acquiring an HIV virus, a lentivirus or "slow virus". Before AIDS, no lentivirus has been known to affect humans before. Ultimately, through a slow, prolonged incubations lasting two to five years, the disease always ends up in death. It slowly destroys cells in the brain, lungs, intestine and ultimately the immune system. 25 percent of people develop AIDS within five years of infection. It was originally projected that 50 percent of those infected will die, but that view is now much more pessimistic.

Once a person is infected with the HIV virus, they are potential transmitters of the AIDS disease to others, even though they themselves may never contract AIDS. Also, once they are infected, the viral genetic code is permanently inserted into the human genetic code of cells to the brain and other tissues.

The most likely risk of transmittal is through blood transfusions, injection with an infected needle, or sexual contacts. Less likely, although not ruled out, are mouth to mouth contact (saliva transmittal), chance contact of sores or abrasions with infected sources. Least likely - but still possible - are close proximity with coughing, sneezing subjects with the virus, and blood sucking insects. It has been demonstrated to remain active in the stomachs of bed bugs for two hours, and can infect the cells of mosquitoes and cockroaches. If the virus is inhaled into the lungs it is engulfed by an amoeba-like macrophage on the lining of the air sacs. It then readily infects the macrophages, replicates within them, and infects the subject.

Contrary to popular belief, the AIDS virus is unusually stable outside the human body. For this reason, blood-related or saliva transmittal is not the only way that it spreads. It can remain active and maintain almost all of its invectivity after seven days in water at room temperature, and some after being kept dry for a week.

The subject of utmost concern is that of "Critical mass". This term is associated with a curve that is approached when any situation becomes increasingly serious in any population. Initially, a disease such as AIDS is usually limited to those involved in sharing needles in a drug culture or promiscuous sex, sharing sex partners, those involved in a free and promiscuous lifestyle, etc. As the infection reaches a saturation point in this type of population, the risk of spreading to other areas of the general population is increased. It is at this point when innocent subjects are exposed through normal day to day contact. Soon, everyone is at risk, and no one is immune. Saturation of the entire population becomes inevitable.

In an official report by the Social Services Committee - House of Commons of London, grave concern was addressed as to the saturation of the entire British population with the virus. Also addressed was the concern as to how many of the facts had been kept suppressed among many key professions due to their lifestyle, creating a "politically protected disease", with a smokescreen to keep the reality of the grave dangers from the general public.

Add to this the psychological dilemma the medical profession is faced with in dealing with the reality of it. To quote one of many aspects of this:

"Many senior doctors in charge of numerous Aids patients develop profoundly neurotic attitudes which enable them to cope with their job by selective denial of reality. In support of their patients for whom they can do so little medically, they fiercely defend their rights of confidentiality, and freedom of association totally ignoring public health responsibilities to ensure that others are now infected. They are regularly consulted by Government and the Media and other doctors on how to control the epidemic." (Social Services Committee - House of Commons, London, Vol. 3, P. 147)

Why the Facts are Suppressed
1-Those diametrically opposed to a heterosexual lifestyle are determined to distort the truth about AIDS.
2-Many do not want to face the stark reality of the facts because of guilt, do not want to change the philosophy of their lifestyle. For this reason, many of them are dedicated to destroying the rest of society with them.
3-Practically every biological scientist knows that the origins of the virus could lie in the development of modern biology.
4-Most biological scientists have not yet come to terms with the gravity of it, and have developed various states of "denial".
5-Many lack the courage to speak out, fearing ramifications from what many may say.
6-Many hope it is still a nightmare that will eventually go away.
7-Some who know the facts are distorting them to keep the heat off of them and their colleagues.
8-Medical and scientific editors have misled professional colleagues, selecting only certain authors to write "safe" editorials and reviews.
9-Editors have developed states of denial as well as the scientists, as facts become more and more apparent.
10-Many doctors perceive the problem as less serious than other "major causes" of death in the medical profession today.
11-A "slow virus" disease is not regarded as much in a category of "serious", due to a gradual time element involved.
12-"Epidemics" are perceived as being "abolished" with TB sanatoriums of 35 years ago.
13-The medical profession is often perceived as a "sacred cow", with an inability to realize such an "incurable" disease.
14-Doctors working strictly with AIDS patients become victims of "AIDS burnout", on the par with war-time exhaustion.
15-Journalists and media are intimidate to contradict the conventional wisdom put across by scientists.
16-Many have given away to political pressure and have given into demands that AIDS is portrayed as an ordinary venereal disease.
17-Promises of cures on the horizon are played up and often out of proportion, with false hopes.
18-Leading politicians, fearing ramifications, seldom touch on the stark reality of the subject.
19-People with AIDS are often categorized as belonging to a small number of "risk groups".
20-Portraying AIDS as merely an infraction of sexual guidelines gives the impression that the one who contracts it has no one to blame but himself.
21-Implication that AIDS epidemic can be controlled by education only leads the populace to believe that infection is less likely.
22-The implication that sodomy is equated with normal sexual intercourse gives the impression that it is not the promiscuity of the lifestyle, but just that a particular category of lifestyle contracted it by chance.
23-Suffering of AIDS patients is amplified, while the potential of innocent subjects exposed to it is minimized.
24-The "rights" of the AIDS patients is magnified, while little or nothing is said about protecting the general population.
25-Those with AIDS enjoy anonymity under the pretense of "protecting confidentiality".

Warning Signals for Carnality - and apostasy

[2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, [3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, [4] Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; [5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away (shun, avoid). [6] For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, [7] Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

1-No convictions about God’s laws. Rationalism justifies anything convenient. John 8:4-8
2-Find fault in others guilty of same sins as themselves, or promote degrees of spirituality, which makes them “more spiritual” than others. John 8:4-8
3-Scapegoat mentality. Quick to blame. Genesis 3:12-13 (see #19)
"And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. [13] And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat."
4-Conspiracy mentality. Matthew 21:38 "But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.'
5-Justify actions to promote their own agenda. Rationalism,
including private interpretation of Scripture.
6-Deny facts, even when confronted with them. Matt. 28:12. Go into “denial”. Refusal to be objective due to pride.
7-Self righteous, religious - spiritual front in public. Mark 12:40 - The epitome of hypocrisy.
8-Having a form of godliness...”You praise me with your lips, but your heart is far from me”. Matt. 15:8.
9-Works conscious, rather than “rest” conscious (Hebr. 3 - Israel entered not into His rest because of unbelief), emphasis on material rather than relationships.
10-Lifestyle based on frivolity, superficiality, reckless, instant gratification. Not grounded in teaching or lasting substance to carry them through adversity, trials, etc. Emphasis on the flesh, food, emotions, entertainment.
11-Treat others only to the extent to promote own agenda. John 10:13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
12-Serve their own bellies. Shut up bowels of compassion toward less fortunate. Churches no longer “missions” conscious.
13-Lean on the arm of flesh. Jeremiah 17:5 Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. Dependence on systems of security: Banks, insurance, etc.
14-Follow the money trail - greed mentality. Ungrateful spirit.
Matthew 6:24 "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."
15-Stubborn, “Mind is made up...” 1 Samuel 15:23 "For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king."
16-Never esteem others better than themselves. (Phil. 2:3)
a-World revolves around them - no deference. - characteristic of idolatry.
b-Opinion always superior to yours. No teachable spirit.
17-”Prosperity” takes on a warped definition - based on money, materialism. Godliness no longer a priority. I Tim. 6:6. Lose sight of Scriptural models. (see #20)
18-No respect for authority
a-Family - No longer a father image or perversion of father image.
b-Church - No longer makes members accountable
c-Society-Traditional authority replaced by perversion/unnatural.
d-Judicial system - Lenient, backwards, upside down. Black is white & visa versa. Criminals have more rights than victim. Outrageous settlements for frivolous offenses. Renegade mentality - crime out of control. (A few months ago, newsman Dan Rather declared that, "Despite his habit of willful lying, Bill Clinton is an honest man". Such bullheaded misrepresentation of the facts has become fashion able today. Britney Spears can bump and grind in her videos and be portrayed as wholesome. Jesse Jackson can make a fortune in the name of civil rights and be called admirable. And terrorism designer Yasser Afafat can authorize abject lawlessness and be depicted as an agent of peace. We live in an era of smoke and mirrors. Up is down. Black is white. Good is bad.
e-Government -.Promote internationalism, socialism, downplay patriotism, promote one world view.
f-God - Humanism is their answer. Atheistic philosophy means we are not accountable to a Creator. The essence of atheism is a panacea for individuals to live with no accountability.
19-No responsibility -
a-Expect everyone else to take responsibility for their actions. Blame society, parents, “hot coffee”, etc.
b-Expect everyone else to provide their security
c-Welfare mentality - Expect others/government to provide well being, free handouts.
20-A “positive thinking” mentality, essentially takes credit themselves, rather than give God the credit for answered prayer or direction in our lives. We become our own destiny.
a-Eastern religions - which concentrates on one’s own ability to “meditate” to bring results.
b-Positive thinking - which emphasizes one’s own ability to muster up mind over matter.
c-Faith movement - which makes “faith” which is a verb, into a noun -emphasizes their OWN efforts of putting FAITH into action, and essentially only using God as a magic genie.
21-Emphasis on “higher learning” - education, knowledge, degrees - rather than wisdom and discernment.
22-Insatiable lust for more violent, more brutal sports, Hollywood, torture, sex, playing down immorality.
23-”Tolerance”
a-One world minded society, promoting “Peace on earth” by ecumenical mentality rather than “Jesus” reigning.
b-Christianity singled out as “intolerant” - and categorized in same pigeonhole as “intolerant” Islam.
c-Christians accused as “hate crimes” because they call sin, sin.
24-Little or no regard for life or right to life.
a-Emphasis on environment, preserving nature, animal life while degradation of human life.
b- Promotion of abortion, euthenasia, gene splicing, cloning.
25-When a nation as a whole (law, government, courts) encourages immorality, lawlessness, lenient judicial system - a nation is in it’s final stages. We are living in the days of apostasy.

"Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, [2] That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. [3] Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away (apostasy) first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;"

A Contradicting World....

We live in a society where we have bigger, more beautiful houses, but smaller, more tragic homes

More knowledge but less wisdom, more degrees but less sense

Talk more about "love" but "lust" more than ever
Learned to make a living, but forgot how to live
Add years to life, but not life to years
Been to the moon and back, but never met our neighbors
Conquered outer space, but in our heart there is no place
Increased our possessions but reduced our compassions
We talk of being "politically correct" but want to be politically protected
We want to discourage discrimination, but cringe at "alternate lifestyles"
Talk of "live and let live" but are repulsed by TV sitcoms
Talk of "tolerance" as long is it doesn't affect us
We spend more, but have less, buy more, but enjoy less
More conveniences, but less time to enjoy them
We do everything bigger, not better
We breathe cleaner air, but pollute our soul
Conquer technology, but surrender to compromise
We want our constitutional rights, but challenge everything as "unconstitutional"
Write more, but learn less, talk more but listen less
Plan more but accomplish less
Incited by murders, but callused to the unborn
We learn to rush, but fail to wait
We have more leaders but less character
We talk of honesty and integrity, but our values are disintegrating
We require two incomes but have more divorces
Talk of prayer but seldom pray
Our computers communicate more, and retain more,
But we communicate less, and are notoriously ignorant
History teaches us about lessons to be learned, but we are destined to repeat it
We talk of security and comfort, but our security devices are falling apart
We talk of "peace and safety", but we are on the eve of destruction

Modern Day Translations of the Bible

There is a popular Bible translation that you even find in many Church pews these days - and there is much controversy over it. Individuals have done intensive study over the fact that words, phrases and even complete verses are missing from it (as well as many other translations). Often we find phrases where people worshipped Jesus are deleted from these versions. Verses that refer to the Deity of Jesus are minimized or deleted altogether.

At first glance, we would find that the translators deliberately did this because they deny the Deity of Jesus, and feel that doctrines such as this and others are denied. At the same time, one may say that they are "watering down" important doctrines such as this in order to gain more acceptance with other groups, religions and even cults. It is interesting, in fact, that the same verses deleted from this particular translation are the same one missing in the New World Translation which the Jehovah's Witnesses use.

In any case, there are two schools of thought:
1-The translators do not feel that these doctrines are important, and for that reason they delete or minimize them, often using the argument that "they are not in the most ancient manuscripts", or they use the Wescott Hort Greek to translate them from.
2-The translators are trying to come up with a translation that appeals to a majority of the religious world, in order to market their product more effectively.

After all, if one sat down one day and decided to delete particular verses, their translation will appeal to certain groups that don't believe that particular doctrine. If they deleted others, they will appeal to even more. The bottom line in this mentality is that they can sell more Bibles if they come up with some "New Age" translation that can encompass all the religions and sects.

In the final analysis, we find an interesting discovery. The one school of thought minimizes certain doctrines because they are not important to them. The other school of thought minimizes certain verses to "sell" their translation to more people. For this reason, (in the second school of thought) - the real motive is money. But what we come to realize is that both schools of thought are saying the same thing. There is no conviction in either one about beliefs. Convictions have been compromised, since it is all about money.

The reason I bring this up is because we have a New Age mentality that does not see the importance of doctrines such as the Deity of Jesus Christ, etc. and also that their motive in life is money. They are serving money - and that is the primary goal.

If your motive in life is to make money - then it is no different than someone who is coming up with some new Bible translation that minimizes who Jesus is - for the purpose of money.

Let me reiterate what I have discussed in other passages on this subject:
Many feel that when the time comes to take "The mark of the Beast" - it will be in conjunction with a decision to deny Christ. But that is a fallacy. The anti-christ will welcome all religious faiths of the world in a one world unity - and allow everyone to continue in their "form of religion". Nothing will have changed - except a lifestyle of putting your trust in ‘mammon’. (See my article “Who Am I?”)

And that is what distinguishes Christians from the world. That is what distinguishes those who follow Jesus from the rest of humanity - regardless of any form of religion, or none at all.

This important point brings us back to Matthew 6:24 - "Ye cannot serve God and mammon" (money, riches) - for you will either serve the one and hate the other or visa versa.

Rev. 13:16-18 “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads; and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name here is wisdom Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred three score and six.”

14:11 “And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever: and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark Of his name. “

What is Humanism?
Exactly what is Humanism? Generally, its godless teachings are as follows:

1. Evolution: Man gradually emerged by chance from lower forms of life over millions of years, based on Darwin.

2. Self Authority (Individual Autonomy): Man is his own authority and is not accountable to any higher power . This “ self-sufficiency” generates self-interest, self-gratification, self-indulgence and self-righteousness.

3. Situation Ethics: There are no absolute rules by which to live. Thus, man is the final authority for his actions, based on existing circumstances.

4. Distorted Realism: All should be exposed to diverse “realistic” viewpoints, including emphasis on profanity, immorality, and perversions as acceptable modes of “self-expression.” In practice this includes children of any age.

5. Sexual Permissiveness: Morally relativistic - All forms of sexual expression are acceptable. Public sex education is considered necessary provided it is taught without Judeo-Christian morals.

6. Anti-Biblical Bias: Man creates God out of his own experiences.

7. Anti-Free Enterprise: Government ownership or control of the economy would replace private ownership of property and the free market economy. This economic “collectivism’ is known as “Big Brother Government, “ “Cradle-to-Grave” welfare, or outright socialism.

8. 0ne - world Government : “Global citizenship” and “Globalization” would replace national self-determination.

9. Death Education: There is no hope of existence beyond the grave - no heaven or hell. Abortion, euthanasia and suicide are endorsed.

Humanism .. practically defined

Secular Humanism:
1-Atheistic 2-Naturalistic 3-Relativistic 4-Evolutionistic

Man has no soul, no spirit, but simply an evolving animal.
Marxist Humanism, conspiracy aspect of humanistic influence

Five Basic Reasons Why a Great Civilization Dies

1-The undermining of the dignity and sanctity of the home, which is the basis for human society.
2-Higher and higher taxes; the spending of public money for free bread and circuses for the populace.
3-The mad craze for pleasure; sports becoming every year more exciting, more brutal, more immoral.
4-The building of great armaments when the real enemy was within - the decay of individual responsibility.
5-The decay of religion; faith fading into mere form, losing touch with life, losing power to guide the people.

Implications and “Predispositions” of Genetic Testing

The subject and controversy of genetic testing has created a scenario that causes us to examine its implications. The trends are far reaching, especially when we hear buzz words like “Predisposition”, PRE meaning BEFORE, and DISPOSITION meaning DISPOSE OF....

When someone is “Predisposed” to something, essentially it implies that he/she is “Prone to” having it, developing it, or inclined to “Becoming”. Often, we are faced by a mentality that pigeonholes those who may or may not adapt into the norm of society. When we start redefining thinking based on this mindset, there is going to be a trend in the direction of discouraging or even eliminating undesirables.

Years ago I lived on a pleasant residential street where neighbors spoke of some on the block as “undesirables”. Taking such a mentality to extremes, one does not fit into a society if he is “Predisposed” to a philosophy or thinking that does not agree with the norm. Essentially, we have allowed a Homeowners Association to vote certain ones out of the neighborhood! The implications of genetic testing can have far reaching effects on who should and should not have a fair chance at life. Consider, for example:

1-Medical and health insurance:
Decisions by medical profession and health insurance companies to deny coverage to individuals based on genetic testing has already demonstrated the implications of this science. They say that they are “Predisposed” to some certain disease, or prone to contracting it. They are essentially equating their findings with “Pre-existing conditions” that exclude people or deny coverage.

2-Mental/Physical implications:
It is nothing new in the medical profession to discourage bringing children into the world if the parents have a high risk of “Predisposition” to having children of under average mental or physical development. It has become the norm and acceptable mindset to discourage and even prevent births that may be high risk in such areas. Genetic testing will surely expand this practice. There is a trend in the thinking of today’s society to abort, deny, and prevent births if there is a “Predisposition” of a mother/father who wants to be specific in their desire for a child. Where is the line going to be drawn? Are we going to be so academic in our thinking as to specify even color of eyes, and anything less will be considered unwanted?

3-Academic mindset:
If breaking the DNA code allows us to peer into every facet of traits, tendencies, and inclinations of our offspring before they are born, is it not an obvious conclusion that natural selection has left God out of the equation? We can cite one example after another of individuals who have contributed immensely to every corner of our world that, by today’s value system, would not have been allowed to even be born into it.
The whole subject of genetic testing and breaking the DNA code has caused the scientific world to take a new look at “Predisposition” and redefining terms in today’s society - and the implication of such trends is on a par with what we saw in the Holocaust of WW II. There is a mentality that pervades today’s thinking of taking the right to life into our own hands.

When a society adopts their “own value system” based on a philosophy of “tolerance”, we have the makings of tyranny.

Once There Was a Great Nation -
Until It's Government Became All Powerful

It was founded by pilgrims who decided to leave their own country, which didn't encourage freedom of religion, freedom of speech, or freedom of the individual.

So they migrated to an uncivilized land inhabited only by savages. The rock where they landed was to become a national shrine - and one of the most famous monuments in the world.

They drove off the natives, built rude shelters and houses of worship. Meanwhile setting aside a special day to give thanks.

These pilgrims - all stern, austere men - believed in their God, but they also believed in work.
They established schools under religious leaders that in a way, became the first public, free education in the world.

Through hard, determined labor, they forged a colony while the rest of the world chuckled.

No Room For Lazy

But the pilgrims persevered. Intolerant of wrongdoing, they used gallows to punish criminals.
In their day - to - day activities, they had no patience for the weak and degenerate, who, if pampered, become the cancer of a nation. Shortly, these pilgrims engaged in trade and commerce as their community grew. In the process, they became moderately prosperous.

Other colonists came and established other communities. And some of the noblest words ever written began to surface. Facades of our modern government buildings bear some of the legends written back then: "Liberty Justice, Freedom of Worship."

Then one of the older nations sent tax agents to exploit the colonists. Alarmed, the colonists sent their greatest men as representatives to a general assembly, choosing a gentleman farmer as their leader. He united them and shook off the shackles of oppression as they won the fight against the "old world" and became a strong nation. That farmer is known as the "Father of his country." Today, a famous U.S. city is named after him.

The new nation formed two houses of government. The more powerful was the Senate, whose members could be elected only if they were men of probity, honor, patriotism, and religion. The nation became a republic, though it is a republic no longer.

Ultimately, a civil war divided the fledgling country. Its leader, who tried to keep the republic united, was assassinated in the shadow of government buildings. Eventually, many of the nation's Senators became ambitious for power. They began to make deals with leaders of important factions. And the republic now became entangled in alliances with foreign nations.

The alliances brought wars; the wars brought taxes. But the citizens didn't seem to mind. War, after all, also increased trade and industry. Besides, the new taxes really affected only the rich.

The farmers rebelled, sending petitions for subsidies, price supports. Government, wanting support for its own schemes, brought up surplus crops and stored them in warehouses, where they rotted. Not to be outdone, industrialists were next to ask for tax benefits.

Finally, the government became all powerful. It guaranteed to protect the people from all forces of nature. And taxation grew and grew. Bureaucracy thrived as free housing, free food, free entertainment came next. The middle class declined under the added tax burdens. Crime became so commonplace that it was dangerous to walk the streets at night.

A crippled man led the nation into more wars and foreign entanglements. Patriots became known as radicals. A general, who had been victimized by the government, pleaded with the nation to remember her past, to return to honor, to decent government, to the principles of the founding fathers. The people scoffed, and he died bitterly, thinking his anguished thoughts.

Warning Ignored

An honest senator dared to speak out for a halt to foreign subversion and to constant foreign aid
and draining away of the people's money. The public at large recoiled, branding him a reactionary.

The nation fell deeper into debt. It joined a league of the world with enemies that exploited her. She increased taxes to send her wheat to those enemies. And she devalued her currency, substituting base materials for precious metals in her coins.

She became allied with powerful barbarians in still another senseless war. She sent "experts" to school the barbarians in the latest scientific discoveries.

The nation was now totally corrupt. Its middle class was finally dead. The barbarians moved in...and took over. And they destroyed civilization.

The nation's name? Ancient Rome.

Why No Revival?
In Genesis 3, we see the three temptations when Eve's conversation with satan ends with the partaking of the forbidden fruit:
"And when she saw that the tree was good for food, and pleasant to the eyes, a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof..."
Here, the three temptations occur: Lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. What is interesting about this is when we look for manifestations of idolatry in Scripture. It is surprising what we find:
1-Preoccupation - Lust of the flesh - (Idolatry in the body)
In 1 Cor. 10:7 it speaks of the children of Israel in the wilderness, and defines their idolatry. "Oh", you say, "I remember - when they made that golden calf." But it will surprise you that it was much more than that::
"Neither be ye idolators as were some of them, as it is written they sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play."
The most blatant example of this today is found on Thanksgiving day when America parades it's idols down 5th Avenue in New York City - then top it all off with Santa Claus! And no one can deny how we are preoccupied with television in this day and age with video games we can play for the rest of our lives, cable and Satellite TV with it's 800+ channels, to say nothing of the World Wide Web (The Wild, Wild West - where anything goes - literally an "institution without a government")..

2-Covetousness - Lust of the eyes - (Idolatry in the soul)
Col. 3:5 says "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness which is idolatry"
To covet "Anything which is thy neighbors" is more than just one of the commandments. It is a basic greed that began with Lucifer's fall, and also considered idolatry. No wonder it is specifically defined here. Our cashless economy allows us to have "Anything our little heart desires", purchasing on "credit" with money that doesn't even exist! Add to that an out-of-context mentality adapted in many Christian circles of:
"What things soever ye desire, pray that ye receive them, and ye shall have them" appealing to a materialistic lifestyle, rather than priorities in the Great Commission. "Godliness with contentment is great gain"(I Tim. 6:6)

3-Stubbornness - the pride of life - (Idolatry in the spirit)
I Samuel 15:23 "For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry."
Who would ever think that by being stubborn and bullheaded is the same as setting yourself up as a god! Yet that is exactly what is brought out here. Not only that, but also it is something done in the heart, an area where we believe. You have heard people say "My mind is made up - don't confuse me with the facts." Some people are like concrete - "Thoroughly mixed up and too well set", so close-minded that they deliberately refuse the truth when faced with it, and choose to believe a lie.

Money
You have spent a better part of your life with checking accounts, savings accounts, credit cards, “paper or plastic” in day to day purchases. But one day, you are notified by your bank that a new technology is being instituted to make your lifestyle simpler, more secure, and more efficient. You (and everyone else in town) is told to come down to the bank at your earliest convenience to turn in any cash, credit cards, etc. and instead receive an account number to be imbedded in your forehead or right hand. What is going to be your reaction? Of course, you will refuse to comply if it finally came to that, be forced to walk away from such a mentality, and perhaps forsake everything you have lived and worked for, since those who receive this mark will spend eternity in hell (Rev. 20:4)

“If it came to that...” you would refuse to take that step. But do you stop to realize that a decision to walk away from a system such as that is to put your trust in God instead? Are you aware of what you just did? You suddenly decided to put your trust in God!

In order to make my point, let me propose something about legalism. In Genesis 3, the serpent is speaking to Eve: “Hath God said, thou shalt not eat of every tree in the garden?” Eve’s reply: “Of the fruit of every tree in the garden, we may freely eat, but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, ‘thou shalt not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.” Now notice, God never said anything about the “fruit” of the tree. He told them not to eat of the tree. He never said anything about “touching” it. Eve added that. Why? Eve must have thought there was something deadly about the fruit, that they would die if they touched it - as if it had arsenic or something deadly in it. But the death was not in the fruit. The death was in the disobedience. This is a very important point. God was interested in a HEART of obedience - not necessarily the physical act.

When the time comes for those to take the physical step of having some account number imbedded in their right hand or forehead, it is not the physical act or motion they go through, but the attitude of their heart in the process. Notice that the system will have put into place a control over the economy.

Rev. 13:17 “And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”

You see, it is not the simple physical act of having them imbed some computer account in their hand or forehead, but a “subscribing” to a system that they have put their trust in. In fact, without it, they will not be able to buy or sell.

This is the sobering aspect of it, for there are those even today, that have “sold out” for their mess of pottage. They have built around them all types of security and comfort zones that give them peace of mind and security. Without even realizing it, they have conditioned themselves into this lifestyle, and can “have everything their little heart desires”. What have they done? They can now leave God out of the equation. And the culmination of a world system that we find described in Revelation 14.

Rev. 14:9-10 “And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, [10] The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:”

Such a system gives us all the security we need or want, ultimately and totally replacing God - the most blatant and defiant rebellion against Him. This is why the simple act of having some computer chip or account number imbedded in our right hand or forehead is so sobering. Not because of some “legalistic” overt act, but a mentality of shifting our trust from God to putting it totally in man, an act on a par with a betrayal to the One True God of Heaven and earth.

Peter denied Jesus. He cursed “I know him not….” Peter knew the implications of associating himself with Jesus, for he knew of the suffering Jesus was to experience. But when we put our trust in “mammon” (money), instead of the One true God, we are doing what Judas did by “skimming” off what was put in the bag – “putting it away for a rainy day”, essentially. He was putting his trust in man. “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” Lu 16:13

New Age Philosophy - Idolatry in the Church

"Thus saith the Lord; cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord." Jeremiah 17:5
Idolatry in the body: "Lust of the flesh" - sins against self
1-Instant gratification - food, sex, addictions, entertain./recreation
2-Live for today mentality "eat, drink, be merry - tomorrow we die"
3-I will gratify my own needs, desires - whenever I want.
4-With instant credit, I do not need to "wait" on anyone!
a-Living beyond our means- "God is not broke"- mentality.
b-Living on unlimited credit, paying only interest on loans.
5-"He shall have whatsoever he saith" - mentality (Mark 11:23)
6-Fasting is foreign to our vocabulary.
Have we allowed the world to pour us into it's mold?

Idolatry in the soul: "Lust of the eyes" - sins against others
1- Relationships of little or no importance
2-"Sue happy" mentality - the "sacred cow" supplies my needs.
3-Covetousness, greed makes our "gods" priority over relationships
4-In a "dog eat dog" world, I come first.
5-No accountability, no responsibility for own actions.
a-"No fault" insurance takes responsibility for everyone.
b-"No fault" divorce - no one is to blame.
c-My binder on my lawyer - solves all litigation/dilemmas.
d-Insurance on everything - system take care of losses.
e-Medical insurance encourages irresponsibility to care for self.
f-Government takes responsibility for life, health, death, etc.
g-"No discipline" mentality conditions child to be his own god.
h-Lenient judicial system - crimes minimized - pat on head.
i-Sin all I want - claim I Jn. 1:9, or
Remove God from society - solves accountability problem.
6-Promotes "I am" mentality. (rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft)
a-I am always right ("Stubbornness is as iniquity & idolatry")
b-I am not responsible. "Devil/society/upbringing made me do it."
c-I am not accountable - "Devil, not God causes misfortune."
d-I am my own God - and determine my own destiny -
"I TELL God I want the job that pays the most", etc.
Be leery of those who say "I forgive you", but never "I'm sorry"
(Promote self righteousness, perfection, pride, arrogance.)
Have we allowed the world to pour us into it's mold?

Idolatry in the spirit: "pride of life" - sins against God
1-Rationalism (leaning on one's own understanding - Gen. 3:6)
2-Re-interpret God's Word (private interpretation) -
leave out convenient passages in modern translations.
3-Bible references and definition of hell are changed or omitted.
4-Rearrange theology to fit one's own theories, philosophies.
5-Reincarnation means we will never be accountable to Creator.
6-Since I am never wrong, there is no need for repentance.
Has this crept into the Church?

What Happened to the Signers of The Declaration of Independence?

Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died.
Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.
Two lost their sons in the Revolutionary Army, another had two sons captured.
Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or the hardships of the Revolutionary War.

What kind of men were they?
Twenty four were lawyers and jurists. - Eleven were merchants.
Nine were farmers and large plantation owners, men of well means, well educated.
...But they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured.

They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British navy. he sold his home and properties to pay his debts and died in rags.

Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers or both, looted the properties of Ellery, Clymer, Hall, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.

At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis, had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. The owner quietly urged General George Washington to open fire, which was done. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.
Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed.
The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.
John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his grist mill were laid waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home after the war to find his wife dead, his children vanished. A few weeks later he died from exhaustion and a broken heart.
Norris and Livingston suffered similar fates.

Such were the stories and sacrifices of the American Revolution. These were not wild-eyed, rabble-rousing ruffians. These were soft spoken men of means and education. They had security, but they valued liberty more. Standing tall, straight, and unwavering, they pledged:

"For the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of
the Divine Providence,
we mutually pledge to each other, our lives, our fortunes,
and our sacred honor."
They gave us an independent America.

Can a Nation Legislate Morality?

Nations operate under laws. Without them, you have anarchy. Even uncivilized tribes in primitive parts of the world have laws to govern their lifestyle.

That is not to say they are right or wrong. The point to be made here is that some type of governing must exist, and it is based on some type of philosophy - and morality - even if it is humanistic.

The idea that you can't legislate morality is, in reality, a smokescreen. What one is really arguing is that a nation can't legislate Godly morality, because that is what they want to replace with "live and let live". We live in an age of "tolerance", where each individual has his/her own value system. The logic falls apart here because the "law" of live and let live is the new governing legislation! A new "religion" has replaced the existing one. Their argument is that legalism is imposing one's laws on someone else. But the humanists are doing exactly the same thing with their own "religion".

One may argue with that statement, saying that religion of all forms must be removed from society. But to throw God out altogether is Atheism and Humanism, and it has be determined in courts of law that Humanism is a religion. The hypocrisy of the argument defies reasoning.

To say that one cannot force another to do what is right is on a par with saying that God cannot force the human race to obey Him. I detect an irony in that because now they give themselves away. Mankind has a choice living in any civilization to obey the laws of that society or not. And he must also suffer the consequences for it. However, in today's mindset, there are attempts to bring a "coup" to the powers that be - a veritable overthrow of laws in place that are there to protect our freedoms.

Laws that our forefathers put in place are being systematically chipped away, using the argument that they were laws based on their Judeo Christian values. So is the solution for humanistic thought to replace Godly laws with atheistic ones?

Once we do this, we redefine life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Row vs. Wade is one of the most obvious results of such thinking. But it does not end there. Since life is redefined, now - through rationalism - we have set ourselves up as a god and arbitrarily take decisions into our own hands in partial birth abortions, at nine months, deciding whether or not to allow the child to live based on the whims of the doctor or parent.

More than twice as many babies have been aborted in 1973 alone than Jews murdered in the Holocaust. What is ironic is that the same philosophy is being used in abortion that Hitler used in WW II. If laws (which replace those our nation is founded upon) can determine what is "life" or who has the right to "live", where is the logic going to end? If Jews were not defined as "persons" during Hitler's regime, who will be next in this modern one?

People in rest homes are a "burden to society". Humanistic thinking has taken the assumption that if someone will not live a "happy" life, he or she has a right not to be born into it. The California Supreme Court has ruled that a child could sue for being born. The parents were not informed of a test which might have revealed brain damage to the child. The Attorney General of Delaware stated that a doctor who failed to kill two unborn babies with saline injections could be sued for malpractice.

In this argument that "You cannot legislate morality", abortion is only one unfortunate result. It is a rattlesnake to be let out of it's cage, and implications include human cloning, legalized drugs, legalized prostitution, legalized pornography and child pornography. It ultimately will result in an imposition of laws which will force immorality on the nation, usually under "freedom of expression", a twisted interpretation of the First Amendment.

The culmination of rationalism in the Garden of Eden "Ye shall not surely die..." Ultimately results in a New Age of rebellion and idolatry "...but ye shall be as gods knowing good and evil."

Characteristics of Apostasy - 2 Tim. 3:1-14
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. [2] For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, [3] Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers o f those that are good, [4] Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; [5] Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. [6] For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, [7] Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. [8] Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. [9] But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was. [10] But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, [11] Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. [12] Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. [13] But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. [14] But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

19- Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, DECEIVING AND BEING DECEIVED.

The Fervent Prayers of a Righteous Woman Availeth Much

It was the height of the Vietnam war when Evelyn Mitchell had been concerned about her son. He had no interest in the God she knew and served, but that did not change her unwavering faith to someday see him come to know Him. It was in 1966 when he enlisted in the Army at twenty years of age. She helped him pack his things, and on the very top of the clothes in the footlocker she placed a Bible. It would be years before he would ever open it, let alone read it, in spite of the fact that she had placed markers all through it for him to read whenever the right time came.

Joe Mitchell seemed to be a likable guy when I first met him, and from the beet-red complexion on his face, it was apparent that he could tell you stories of his years in the military. Growing up in the cotton fields of Mississippi with sharecroppers tell us where the term “red neck” came from - as cotton pickers eventually developed a band around their neck from wearing the cotton sack each day in the hot summer sun. But that was not where he acquired his unique personality. He reminded me of a retired Air Force Colonial I once knew, but Joe was a retired Platoon Sergeant. Within minutes after meeting him, you could see a genuine love coming through that war-torn personality, and I soon discovered why.

Joe had four sisters and a brother, although his brother died at 18 months from accidentally ingesting Kerosene. For years, his parents never went to Church, but people would often pick up him and his sisters and take them anyway. Eventually, his mother began going and soon received Jesus Christ as her Saviour. In October of 1985, she died, but not before God revealed his love and Truth to her.
