Thank you Jesus

I have so much to be thankful for
that I don't know where to start.
A wonderful family, a roof over my head,
but most of all Jesus living in my heart
He has given me grace,love, and happiness
Without Him in my life it would
surely be a mess
To Him I am thankful for changing
my ways
For showing me the path of righteousness
that I will travel the rest of my days
I am so thankful that He had mercy
on me
He took away my sins so that I may live free
Yes to the Lord I am forever thankful
and to Him I will always be faithful

I wrote this shortly after seeing what happened in New Orleans and surrounding states from Hurricane Katrina. This disaster really brought some light to my eyes. I started thinking about the things that I take for granted, the little things......the ones that could be snatched away in the blink of an eye. I looked around my home, at my girls, and my husband, and thought just for a second what it would be like if tomorrow all that was gone. It was not a very good feeling. But it taught me that I needed to do less complaining and more praising. God is so good, he supplies all our needs why should we want for more?
My heart goes out to those who were in the path of Hurricane Katrina, you are all in my thoughts and prayers. May God be with you and bless you abundantly.
