Requested statement of belief
Since there are so many different kinds of Christianity today that the word "Christian" has become meaningless, and since I have been asked for a statement of my beliefs by the website host, I thought I would add a brief statement here.

It is my belief that the men who wrote the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments were so directly inspired by God as to give us a true, infallible, and inerrant account of things that God considers it needful for us to know. This includes the creation story in Genesis, which I consider to be a statement of historical fact.

The bible contains many divine and wonderful truths that are so far above our limited and sinful understanding as to make them inaccessible to the natural mind. As it says in I Corinthians, "the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." Thus the bible contains, as it also says in I Corinthians, "the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory."

From this book, if God has granted us the gift of faith and understanding, we learn many truths inaccessible to the natural mind, and foolish to the natural mind. Some of them are:
~ That there is one God, but this God has three persons or aspects- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three aspects are all fully divine.
~ That this God created the world and the universe out of nothing, by the power of his word alone.
~ That Jesus of Nazareth who lived two thousand years ago was a part of the Trinity, God come to earth in human form, born of a virgin.
~ This Jesus lived a sinless life and taught us many wonderful truths of the kingdom of God. He voluntarily died on the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of the human race, after which he rose from the dead and ascended into heaven.
~ That Jesus of Nazareth is now at the right hand of God in eternal glory, from whence he will return openly as God at the end of the world.
~ That we are all guilty of sin because of our inherently sinful natures, and worthy of nothing but God's condemnation and wrath.
~ That forgiveness for our sins can be found only through saving faith in Christ, and in no other way. This faith is the gift of God, given to us only according to God's purpose, not according to our virtues or merits.
~ That Jesus' statement that the way to heaven is narrow and found by few, while the road to hell is broad and found by many, is an eternal and unshakable truth.
~ That saving faith in Christ is much more than intellectual assent to doctrines. It is a living thing ("The just shall live by faith") that yields fruit - however flawed or imperfect - in the life of the believer. This is why Paul says that those who walk according to the flesh, in "Adultery, fornication, uncleanness...hatred...wrath...heresies...murders, drunkenness" "shall not inherit the kingdom of God."

Much more could be said about these and other subjects.
