Celebrating Evan
A Mother's Thanks

"One year after the death of our son, I realize that our family could not have dealt with such a devastating loss on our own. Though we have walked the path of grief one step at a time, the pain of traveling this path is immeasurable. We have been helped by faith in God, our Father, and those special people around us- "the few who remain", the ones who stay and really listen. You are the friends and family who see past the irrational behavior and inability to perform the simplest everyday things. You chose to extend your hand to help us to the next turn in the path. The path has no end in sight, yet, and I don't know if it ever will. You've taken the hardest road with us by choice. That kindness can't be repaid. Being a friend to a bereaved family must be an impossible task. It's certainly a thankless one that requires more patience and caring than I can imagine. You'll never know how much your "hands" have meant and still do."
Deepest gratitude to my husband, my parents & sister, the dedicated people at Winston Academy and without fail Gloria,Connie and my friend Jeanette who sat with me during those early hours. A very special thank you to Jillian, Pastor John and Chrissie. Thank you from my heart. Jane Throckmorton
