The President Repents on Behalf of the Nation - Nigeria
"I acknowledge on behalf of Nigeria and Nigerians, our grievous sin at every level of our corporate existence. We plead mercy today".

And in those few words, President Obasanjo has started to break the jinx (read: the curse) over this abundantly endowed, but under-achieving nation, Nigeria. And why do we say so? Nigeria is a nation whose early leaders were occultic, and who covenanted this nation to the devil. We discovered from newspaper obituaries at their deaths, that Independence President Nnamdi Azikiwe and Independence opposition Leader Obafemi Awolowo were members of the dreaded Ogboni fraternity and Rosicrucian order respectively. Evidently, two other founding fathers, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa and Ahmadu Bello were Muslims with undis guised intention to islamise the entire nation! The powerful Ahmadu Bello categorically told Billy Graham in 1965 that he would deep the Koran in the Atlantic Ocean, a euphemism for his intention to spread Islam throughout Nigeria, up to and including Southern Nigeria whose border was the Atlantic Ocean.

We do not need any instruction about the power of representative praying as we saw with Daniel in Daniel 9; nor do we need any reminding that the Leader of a people by that very position, a kind of pater familias, has authority to covenant the people he leads with the almighty God or with strange goods. We see this abundantly reflected in Israel and Judah, whose kings either led them to God or astray. 1st and 2nd Kings, 1st and 2nd Chronicles.

Please continue to pray for Nigeria, especially the political situation and the Christians in Northern Nigeria who are not able to serve the Lord freely. They are constantly under severe persecution and vicious attack from Muslims who sometimes decapitate these faithfuls of Jesus Christ to force them to renounce their faith. Pray for the protection of President Obasanjo, and the political structures of the nation-Nigeria. Pray for us over the issue of Resource Control. This seem to be tearing the nation apart. Communities from Oil Producing states are asking for a fair share of the resources being extracted from their areas. This seem to be a political issue that polarized the nation recently.

The Zamfara state government recently held a 5 year anniversary to celebrate the implementation of Shariah law. Governor Ahmad Sani stood before the large crowd and recalled why Shariah was introduced into the state. However, according to one source, " For many Zamfarans, it was a celebration of deceit" Shariah law is based on the Koran and Hadith, the Islamic holy book and teachings. It imposes a strict code of conduct on the population . For example, if an individual is convicted of stealing, the punishment is amputation of his hand. In the case of adultery, the punishment is death by stoning. One Christian leader_________said of Shariah law: " If you go around villages, you will see people missing one hand or foot. Do you think that's the result of an illness ? That is the result of Shariah law."
Shariah Law has had a violent and devastating effet on the Christians and all Nigerian society. Militant Muslims have used Shariah as an excuse, or justification, to force their brand of Islam on non-muslims. This has resulted in a wave of violence and attacks against Christians, their homes, churches and villages as the militants wage jihad, or holy war, against them. Sharia Law also allows violent attacks against non muslims and the killing of former muslims who have converted to Christianity or other faiths. The destruction of churches and the prohibition of new church constructions are considered legitimate actions.
More than 10,000 Christians have been killed since 1999 in Nigeria, the year Shariah law was introduced. Nearly 1000 homes and churches have been burned down by Muslim radicals. Hundreds of thousands of Christians are now refugees ( and many widowed), because their muslim neighbors have been unwilling to tolerate living together with "infidels"…..
