Jesus Loves Me
|
I truly believe that children are angels sent from God and I have been blessed with 2 of them! The oldest, Jeannie, is now 3 years old but at the age of 2 could sing Jesus Loves Me (which is her favorite song), could say her bedtime prayers by herself, and she is teaching her 1 year old sister, Nikki, to do the same. Jeannie walks around saying Praise the Lord and other things that it seems a child wouldn't even comprehend yet. But I think that they understand better than we do sometimes. So if you ever have any doubt about Jesus just look into the eyes of a child. Only He could have made something this wonderful and this smart. It doesn't matter how bad I feel all I have to do is look at them and there is an instant sweep of calmness that overcomes me. It's our duty to make sure that our children keep this knowledge of Jesus, it is our calling as parents to teach them all that we know so that they will grow up to be faithful Christian servants!
Jesus loves me this I know
For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong
They are weak but He is strong!
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Pro 22:6
Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord, my soul to keep
May angels watch me through the night
and wake me with their morning light.
This is the prayer that my 5 yr old and 3 yr old say every night on her knees by her bed. After this we sing Jesus Loves Me and Jesus Loves the Little Children. All of this she knows by heart. I call that devotion. Which is what God wants from us, that is all he is asking for. For us to be devoted to him doing all that is right. And look at the reward that we get in the end! So tell me if a wandering 2 year old mind can be this devoted to God why can't we? I pray for all of us to have a closer walk with Him and to see it all the way a child sees it.
