SALVATION
1. A man is saved by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ apart from any works of merit of the sinner (Jn. 3:36; Eph. 2:8-9).
2. A saved man is a child of God (Jn. 1:12), receives a new life (2 Cor. 5:17), is sanctified (I Cor. 6:1 1), is justified (Rom. 5:1), and finally is glorified (Rom. 8:30) to be with Christ forever.
3. A Christian is sanctified positionally in Christ, progressively as he obeys the Scriptures, and completely when he sees Christ either at death or at His coming (I Cor. 1:2, 30; 2 Cor. 7:1;
Jn. 17:17; 1 Thess. 4:3-7; Heb. 12:23; I Jn. 3:2).
THE GOSPEL
1. The Gospel speaks of Christ’s death for our sins. His burial, and His resurrection on the third day as the only way for salvation (I Cor. 15:1- 4; Acts 4:12; I Tim 2:5).
2. Christ’s death is vicarious (2 Cor. 5:21; I Pet. 2:24), is an atonement (Rom. 5:11); is a propitiation (1 Jn. 2:2) and brings reconciliation between God and man (Eph. 2:18).
3. Christ’s bodily resurrection (Lk. 24:39; Mt. 28:9; Jn. 20:5-7) guarantees that all believers will one day be raised from the dead (Rom. 8:11; I Cor. 15:20-23) to be with Christ forever.
4. Salvation is available for all but is enjoyed only by those who believe the gospel (Jn.
1:29; Titus 2:11; Rom. 10:13; Rev. 22:17).
THE BIBLE WAY TO HEAVEN
1) All Have Sinned
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” – Rom. 3:23
The “All” includes you and me.
2) Sin’s Penalty
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Rom. 6:23
3) Christ Paid the Penalty
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” – Rom. 5:8
4) Salvation is a Gift of God
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.” – Eph. 2:8,9.
5) You must Repent from your sin. Believe and Receive the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour.
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” - Rom 10:9-10
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” – John 1:12
6) THE BIBLE’S INVITATION
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” – Rom. 10:13 The “whosoever” includes you and me. God invites you to “call” or pray to Him. Will you do this right now?
7) PRAYER FOR SALVATION
Dear Almighty God,
Please be merciful to me, a sinner. I would like to repent of my sins and to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Savior. I believe that He died on the cross for my sins, was buried and rose again the third day. I would like to receive Him into my heart right now to save me from my sins. Thank you that through trusting the Lord Jesus Christ, I am now a child of God and have eternal life. Help me from today onward to worship you faithfully, read the Bible regularly, pray and live the Christian life with your help and grace. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen!
