CHURCH ![]() 1. The Church is a spiritual organism consisting of all true believers in this age, who have been born of the Spirit of God and who were baptized by the same Spirit into the body of Christ (Mt. 16:18; I Cor. 12:13; Eph. 4:4-6; Heb. 12:23). 2. The Local Church is a body of believers in Christ who have followed the Lord through the waters of baptism, uniting together in worship, prayer, instruction, fellowship, service and the spread of the Gospel to the uttermost part of the earth (Mt. 28:18-20; Acts 2:41, 42; 14:27; Heb. 10:25). THE ORDINANCES 1. BAPTISM: Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit upon profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour (Mt. 28:1 8-20; Acts 8:12, 36-39, 10:47, 48, 16:32-34), and that it sets forth in picture the believer’s union with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection (Rom. 6:4; Col. 2:12). 2. THE LORD’s SUPPER: The Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of the Lord’s death to be observed until He comes again, and that it should always be preceded by solemn self-examination, and that participation should be extended to all regenerated persons living in fellowship with and obedience to Jesus Christ (Mt. 26:26-30; 1 Cor. 11:23-30). KOINONIA Koinonia (pronounced "koin-o-nia") is the Greek word for "fellowship" - “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship (Koinonia) of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord” – 1 Cor. 1:9. BE FOCUS It is easy for a Christian to lose his or her focus and just attend church. Below are some reminders to help each one of us to stay focus so as to become spiritually in tune with God and the aspirations of the Body of Christ. Let’s us encourage one another to focus on these seven things. 1. Worship – Every one to worship God in church – John 4:23; Rev. 4:10-11. 2. Vision – Every one to embrace the same vision - Prov. 29:18; Acts 16:9-10. 3. Prayer – The church that prays together stays together - Acts 4:31, 33; Rom. 12:12. 4. Christ-likeness – This is the goal of Christian living - Rom. 8:29; Gal. 4:19 5. Evangelism – The church that ceases to evangelize will fossilized – Matt. 28:18-20; Acts 1:8 6. Ministry – “Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you fulfill it” – Col. 4:17; Rom. 12:11. 7. Body of Christ – Love and care for each other through Personal Discipleship and Small Groups Ministry – 1 Cor. 12:27; 1 Thess. 2:7-8. ![]()
