Served as the No. 2 fullback behind William Henderson for the second straight season. Started six games when Packers opened in their two-tight end or 'U-71' packages; saw substantial playing time in those formations, as well as in short-yardage situations, was on the field for 41.4 percent of the snaps that Green Bay utilized a fullback. Had reported to camp in shape, more determined and more comfortable than in 2003, according to Head Coach Mike Sherman. Played in all 16 games for the second time, making six starts, he also saw action in NFC Wild Card playoff contest with Minnesota. Rushed 10 times for 24 yards and made two receptions for 20 yards during the regular season. Was a key cog in the blocking game at Carolina (Sept. 13) as the Packers ran for 152 yards against the vaunted Panthers defense; his personal highlight came when he smashed LB Brandon Short, leading to a 12-yard gain by Ahman Green on a counter sweep to the left side of the field. Started next game vs. Chicago (Sept. 19) and split time with Henderson at fullback; on a 12-yard Tony Fisher run to the right, picked up a dominant block on Bears LB Joe Odom. Started following week at Indianapolis (Sept. 26), had one rush for 2 yards, playing halfback for the first time since 2002. Followed up against the N.Y. Giants (Oct. 3) with one run for 4 yards. In Monday night contest with Tennessee (Oct. 11), made a key block on an 18-yard run by Green. Carried twice for 5 yards in hometown appearance at Detroit (Oct. 17), he also made the lead block on Najeh Davenport's 13-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter of 38-10 win, smashing Lions S Brock Marion into the ground. Ran for a 2-yard gain on fourth-and-1 on the game's last drive, allowing Green Bay to run out the clock in the 38-10 victory. In start against Dallas (Oct. 24), on Green's 32-yard run cracked LB Dexter Coakley to allow a hole for Green to cut back and advance upfield. Made 11-yard catch at Washington (Oct. 31), his first reception of the year; grab came on a third-and-3. Caught the ball in the flat, bounced off a Shawn Springs tackle, lost his helmet, then continued upfield for the rest of the yardage. Ran twice for 3 yards vs. Minnesota (Nov. 14). Picked up a first down on second-and-2, rushing for a 3-yard gain to the Minnesota 4 (the Packers scored three plays later). Also made a key lead block on Green's 17-yard sweep in the second quarter. In Sunday night win at Houston (Nov. 21), had one rush for 3 yards - a first down on third-and-1 - before leaving the game with a separated left shoulder. Played a limited amount due to shoulder injury in Monday night battle with St. Louis (Nov. 29). On Fisher's 24-yard run, took out LB Pisa Tinoisamoa to get Fisher through the first line of defense. Later, combined with guard Mike Wahle to seal defenders outside and spring Davenport for his 40-yard scoring run. Started at fullback in contest at Philadelphia (Dec. 5), then was a reserve vs. Detroit (Dec. 12). Made one catch for 9 yards against Jacksonville (Dec. 19); on a Green Bay second-and-8, caught a pass and advanced it 9 yards for a first down. One of three fullbacks to play (along with Henderson and Vonta Leach) in division-clinching triumph over Minnesota (Dec. 24). Ran three times for 7 yards at Chicago (Jan. 2) in limited duty at halfback after having gotten the starting nod at fullback when the Packers opened in 'U-71' package. In the NFC Wild Card playoff game vs. Minnesota (Jan. 9), caught two passes for 10 yards.
