More About FAITH ![]() To give you a little better idea what FAITH is all about, we would like to share portions of our by-laws with you: ARTICLE III—PURPOSE Faith is organized for the purpose of providing service and support to home educators within Lowndes and the surrounding counties including, but not limited to, the following ways: 1. By seeking to glorify God in every area of our personal lives and in this group. 2. By making holiness and purity our goal in our personal lives and in this group. 3. By supporting and encouraging those parents who have made the decision to take an active role in their children’s education by being the primary educator of their children. 4. By providing information regarding the laws governing home education in Georgia and the nation. 5. By providing a place and time for godly fellowship among the members and prospective members of this group. 6. By promoting the advantages of home education as the best form of education. 7. By encouraging sound, high-quality programs (such as Pizza Hut’s Book-It! program) for home educators for the purpose of developing Christ-like character, which will help to satisfy the spiritual, intellectual, physical, and emotional growth needs of their children. 8. By providing information to home educators, thus serving as a resource to those desiring to educate their children at home. 9. By providing our children with an opportunity to build and maintain friendships with people of all ages. ARTICLE IV—STATEMENT OF FAITH We believe: 1. The Bible to be the inspired, infallible, divinely preserved Word of God, the supreme and final authority for all faith and life. (2 Rim 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20, 21.) 2. That there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that knowing Him truly is the foundation of all knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. (Gen. 1:1-3; John 5:7; Deut. 6:4; 2 Cor. 13:14; Gal. 4:4-6.) 3. That the triune God, by a free act and for His own glory, without the use of existing materials or secondary causes, brought into being – immediately and instantaneously in six literal days by the word of His mouth – the whole visible and invisible universe, and that the scripture disproves the theory of evolution. (Gen. 1:1-27; Ex. 20:8-11; Neh. 9:6; Psalm 104:24, 25; Isaiah 40:21-31; John 1:1-5; Col. 1:16, 17.) 4. In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; that Jesus Christ is God incarnate, wholly God and wholly man; in His virgin birth, sinless life, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed Blood on the Cross; His bodily resurrection, His ascension, and His bodily return in power and glory. (Deity: Luke 1:35; Heb. 1:1-3; Col. 1:15, 16. Virgin Birth: Matt. 1:23; Luke 1:26-35. Sinless: 2 Cor. 5:21; 1 Peter 2:22; 1 John 3:5. Atonement: Rom. 5:11; Col. 1:13, 14. Resurrection: 1 Cor. 15:3, 4. Ascension: Acts 2:32-34; Eph.2:5, 6. Return: Matt. 24:30, 31; 2 Thess. 1:7-10. Shed Blood: Matt. 26:28; Rom. 3:24, 25.) 5. That man was created in the image of God, but willfully sinned and is therefore lost, and only those who put their faith in Jesus Christ alone, not trusting in any personal works whatsoever, can be saved. (Created in God’s Image: Gen. 1:26, 27. All Have Sinned: Rom. 3:23; Rom. 5:12; Rom. 8:7; Eph. 2:1. Grace, Not Works: Eph. 2:8, 9; Rom. 3:24. Faith in Christ: Rom. 10:9; Rom. 3:28.) 6. That salvation is a free gift of God brought to the sinners by grace, and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Whose substitutionary death on the Cross paid the penalty for man’s sin. (Eph. 2:8, 9; Titus 3:5; Rom. 5:8; 1 Cor. 15:1-4.) 7. That the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict mankind, indwell, guide, and empower the believer for godly living and service. (John 16:7-11, 13; John 14:16, 17, 26; Rom. 8:9, 16, 26, 27; Gal. 5:16-26.) 8. That all Christians should live in such a manner as to glorify God through their conduct. (2 Cor. 9:10-13; 1 Peter 1:13-16; Eph. 2:10; James 2:20-26; Gal 5; Rom. 12:1, 2; 1 John 2:15.) 9. That God in His Word has given parents the responsibility and authority to educate their children in a godly manner. (Deut. 6:1-9; Eph. 6:4; Deut. 4:9, 10; Deut. 11:19, 20; Gal. 4:2.) 10. That homosexuality is contrary to the Word of God and therefore, we will not allow those living that lifestyle to participate in this group. (Rom. 1:24-28; 1 Cor. 6:9-11.) 11. That as a group, we are at liberty to support and fellowship with any other group that believes in and stands for the same truths previously stated and which clearly seeks to glorify God. And, as a group, we will remain completely separate from any group that does not believe in and stand for the same truths previously stated and which does not clearly seek to glorify God. (2 Cor. 6:14-7:1.) 12. In the spiritual unity of believers through our common faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and that individual doctrinal differences which may exist outside of the aforementioned (ARTICLE IV:1-11) should not hinder the unity of Christian home educators. (John 13:34, 35; John 17:20-23; Eph. 4:1-6.) ![]() |
