News From CNR Ministries ![]() St Peter Mission Independent Associate - Welcome to Prepaid Legal 6th Annual Women Conference: April 8, 2005 Theme: Christian Women Armed & Dangerous With The Word of God Eddie Ruth Ricks Talk - Prayer Fill Me With Your Spirit, LORD, That I might hear your voice Holy Spirit fall on me and guide me as I prepare To share at this women conference I lift my eyes to you, oh God Bless this conference in a mighty way In Jesus Name I pray. Amen. As I looked at the theme Christian Women Armed and Dangerous with the Word of God. I thought about a few weeks ago, a lady, who I knew very well lost her only son in an automobile accident. Being a christian woman, I began to search and search the scripture to find a word of comfort for this lady, being her only child it wasn't enough to say, I'm sorry you lost your son but, I had to be armed and ready to give her a word, something she could hold on to. As women of God we must be armed and dangerous with the Word of God at all times whether or not you're on the job or where ever you are. Ladies, in order for us to become like Jesus, we must fill our lives with His Word. II Timothy 3:16-17 says everything in the scripture is God's Word all of it is useful for teaching and helping for correction and showing us how to live so that we may be complete, proficient, well fitted and throughly equipped for every good work. Feeding on God's Word must be our first priority. Secondly, we must set a firm foundation-read God's Word daily. How do we begin each day studying God's Word? Many of us treat God's Word like we treat our public libraries, some of us never even bother to get a card. Others of us start a book and never finish it, then we find ourselves fined for keeping it too long. We must keep God's Word nearby and apply the truth of the scriptures. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us. Like Esther, she knew a God who was all-powerful and completely trustworthy. She prayed and fasted for the courage to do what God had called her to do. Women, God is searching for people who will make a difference. How many of us are willing to make that difference? We can stand firm through dis- couraging times but, only if we apply God's In- struction. God's Word is very much alive, it pro- duces change. When God speaks everything changes. Esther needed great courage, courage to do what she knew God wanted her to do. God has every woman here for a purpose. We should have a sense of destiny that says we were created for just a time as this (Esther 4:14). Living in the presence of God will release the power of God and enable us to fulfill the purpose of God for our life. Though God inspired the writing of all sciptures. There are times and seasons in the world when God breathes on a certain Word in order to get a certain assignment done for a certain season. He does this because He knows what is up the road. Ladies, the most important decision we can make tonight is to settle this issue of what will be the ultimate authority for our life. When God says to do something, we will trust God's Word to do it whether or not it makes sense or we feel like doing it. We must pray that the Holy Spirit will guide and lead us into all truth. What has God already told us to do in His Word that we haven't started doing yet? Each one of us is a unique individual with a God- Given plan and purpose for our lives, but in order to truly succeed at being ourselves, we need to stop trying to be like everybody else and allow the Lord to develop us into the unique vessel of honor He created us to be. I would like to conclude with this Hymn. 'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, Ruth Turton - Christian Keynote Inspirational Speaker Eddie Ruth Ricks,ericks@aeneas.net Administrative Asst.
