Past Chaplains
![]() There were many men who served as Chaplains during America's War for Independence. Both Continental Army and Militia, these men served with valor, honor and integrity. We hereby salute one man, who stepped forward at the very beginning of the conflict to become known as the American Revolution's first Chaplain. Chaplain William Emerson, who died while still on active duty, served the Minutemen at Concord Bridge April 19, 1775 "And Great Men Have Continued To Step Forward" The Georgia Society of the Sons Of The American Revolution has been blessed to have a wonderful cadre of State Chaplains.
