HANDS ACROSS THE BAR ![]() HANDS ACROSS THE BAR © Vickey Stamps There are bars across a railroad track Tidal bars across a sea sometimes bars of misunderstanding In the hearts of you and me The bar of most importance That spreads wide across my life Is the one that throws a shadow Across lifes path, its pains and strife It represents in part and parcel The life a man once walked Upon a precious mission Where he lived just like he talked His shoes were clad in dust from roads He shared with one and all As a simple messenger of God Humble…straight and tall The miracles he brought about The lessons he would teach The life’s that he would change Oh..the stories he would preach Then came the day that he would trod A predestined twisting road Carrying on his back a cross On his back….a heavy load Upon the bar that made the cross His precious body soon was hung And the hymn of great salvation In a silent song was sung Yes there are bars of many kinds One can find here and there But the shadow of the cross Held our sins and his despair Christ hands stretched out upon a bar As he hung for our sins on that day They still stretch out in welcome .....To help us find our way (c)Vickey Stamps ![]()
