The Lord does not deliver by sword or by the spear; for the battle is the Lord's - hallelujah for the 54,500 Turkish New Testaments that went out over Christmas in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir! The number of New Testaments that we had prepared for distribution were finished in two days, and we had to scramble to get more New Testaments! We couldn't have done it - but God did it! And with much primetime national news coverage, newspapers, articles, and internet, increased responses! Afterwards, some Islamic groups began distributing Korans on the streets in protest to Alo Dua. Normally, we would immediately be arrested by the police. However, as we look back now, there was no harassment by the police in Istanbul, Ankara, or Izmir.=20

Things have quieted down much more now. The Alo Dua Prayer Center's landlord's black eye is healing, and he is still behind us. The TV news programs were nationally televised on primetime. They featured as the main news of the night. Jesus reigns! We have had to keep a low profile, because of the news reporters outside the Alo Dua Prayer Center, waiting to get pictures and do a live TV interview. Our home landlord hasn't asked us again to move out of our house - please continue to pray.

Please pray for us, as we organize a support structure for our Turkish brothers and sisters who have come to the Lord through Alo Dua. New Turkish believers have to pay a much higher cost to follow the Lord, and to evangelize their own people. We have been praying in the past year, and now more especially - how to keep our Turkish brothers and sisters encouraged/motivated in the Lord, while doing ministry together with us, and getting lots of persecution also.=20

Soon, we will also be visiting Ian's Dad who is 85 years old. He was sick for a while, and is now recovering. Please pray with us for his salvation. We will be in Canada and in the US for a short visit, and hope to see some of you also!=20

We are so grateful to many of you who have sent in gifts for New Testaments, and we are so grateful to those of you who have phoned or written to encourage us. Being shouted at, spit upon, sworn at, the protests, the angry reaction of fundamentalists, the vehicle getting nasty words scratched on it, are all only light affliction - because of God's grace and comfort, as you pray for us. Once again, we say together with you, "Lord have mercy, give us the harvest!"
