I STAND BY HEAVEN'S DOOR
I know I left so suddenly
No time to say good bye
I heard my Savior calling
From His mighty throne on high
He said my work on earth is through
I’ve done as I was told
I’ve followed closely in his steps
Heaven’s now mine to behold
But I did not leave you all alone
Our love is way too strong
My presence lives within your heart
Forever will be our bond
So let me gently wipe the tear
That’s welt up in your eye
I’ll hold your hand and hug you
For I’ll always be near by
So when you feel a gentle brush
Or a touch upon your face
You’ll know that I am with you
For that you can embrace
Remember that I love you
For now and ever more
I’m up here with my Savior
As I stand by Heaven’s door

OUR PASTOR
Have you ever met our Pastor?
Shook his hand or said hello?
Well through these words I’ll tell you
Just what you need to know
God called upon him years ago
Said, “Dean you’re going to teach”
Then sent him to our country church
Where he was told to preach
On Sunday mornings he is there
Inside the door he stands
And greets us each and every one
Extends a welcomed hand
Now as the church bell rings aloud
And we gather in our seats
We anticipate the sermon
Pastor Dean is going to speak
His sermon’s never long enough
As far as I’m concerned
Although I leave there joyful
Because of what I’ve learned
He helps us grow in Jesus Christ
His words encourage all
He tells us God is with us
To catch us when we fall
Never judging, as he knows
Not one is without sin
He loves us each and every one
His love comes from within
Now when all is said and done
And we bow our heads and pray
We thank God for our Pastor
For sending him our way
