is dedicated to teaching wisdom and discernment
in a day and age when we need it most.
It is for this reason these presentations have been developed. "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge". It is not education that delivers someone from a bondage of ignorance, but wisdom and knowledge.
Education has its place in the learning process, and memorizing facts and figures, but too often this is an end in itself rather than a means to an end.
Children (and adults) should be taught to think.
Memorizing does not stimulate the learning process, thus they have been put to sleep. Many cults, false teachings and heresies thrive on this very principle . If they simply accept what they are taught at face value and never question it, they will not be developing the discernment necessary to know false doctrines when they do come along.
We are not talking here about questioning the Word of God, but using it as the standard to gauge everything else.
We need to be encouraged to think.
Shortly after his conversion, David Film attended Grace Bible Institute in Omaha Nebr. in the late '60's. Background
In 1988 I went through a traumatic emotional healing from a lot of bad past experiences in my life. Much of this dealt with problems of bitterness and unforgiveness - harbored and suppressed for years.
Without even realizing it, I had become involved to a great extent in deceptive teaching, false doctrines and situations that exploited people with emotional hurts. One day, in fact, I was sitting toward the rear of the church I was attending. Having known many of the members, I took a moment to glance over the backs of heads. To my amazement I saw a pattern. A great majority of them had problems with abuse, molestation as a child, hurts and bitterness.
As a result of my own emotional healing, I began a door to door ministry from 1988 to 1995 in my city and - especially in low income and government housing projects - found an epidemic of divorce, bitterness, abuse, etc. I was to also find that a major publisher did a study and found this city to have a 90% divorce rate! What I found was more like 100%.
I share all this only to drive home a profound lesson. Because of bitterness and unforgiveness in my own life, I was a victim of deception. But through a major healing of my past, it was as if the "lights came on" for the first time - although I was a believer in Jesus Christ for 23 years. I began to develop discernment and understand many spiritual truths that I had been blinded to previously.
During this time I was working with an offset printing firm, usually shooting negatives in the darkroom. One particular project was to publish a 1,200 page massive book for the government. It took two weeks to shoot the negatives. I spent many hours putting film in the camera, shooting the originals, and sending it through the film processor. Much of my time was spent with the brilliant halogen lights on during the exposures.
Being the mediator and thinker I was, my mind became acutely aware of the subject of light. This did not come in audible words, but the Lord spoke to my spirit: "David, I am going to teach you about light". Thoughts began filling my mind on the subject, and I grabbed a pen and began jotting things down. Patterns began forming on this subject with a surprising formation of material that could be communicated to any grade school child - and even in a secular classroom setting. Days turned into weeks. Weeks turned into months. In time a compilation was built on this subject. Much of what is contained herein are sketchy outlines of what is discussed in my presentation. Throughout the years, I have acquired plasma balls, illumination disks, Tesla Coil, Jacob's Ladder, reversing mirrors, radiometers, illustrations with black lights, and other hand's on apparatus, making this presentation fascinating and fun for all ages.
It is my prayer that the material enclosed will not only illustrate the most fantastic facts about light, how it demonstrates the attributes of God, but also how a system of darkness transforms itself as light, counterfeiting the truth, perverting the truth and deceiving mankind in thousands of methods and ways. But once we are discerning and wise to how it is done, satan's tactics can be neutralized.
