Singing In My Soul
WKTJ Radio Program
When God gave me music what a glory it was.Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God.
When God gave me music what a glory it was.Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God.

Radio Program, Country Gospel Time with Barbara

What I am about to share with you is not so I will recieve any praise for it, but that you will see how the Lord can and will work with a willing vessel. All the praise honor and glory goes to Him.

In 1995 the Lord spoke to me about doing a program on the local radio station. So I contacted the station and spoke with the manager, Steve Bull. I asked what someone would have to do to have a program spot on their station. Now I had no idea what to do or how to do it, all I knew was that the Lord laid it on my heart to do this to reach out to the people in the community.

I had been for seven years already doing Gospel Concerts and ministering to the four local Nursing Homes and singing at my church as well as other Churches in the Area.

I just knew that if I stepped out in faith the Lord would give me wisdom and help me to do what He wanted me to do.

Mr. Bull told me to do a demo tape he then set up an appointment when we were to meet and he would listen to the demo and than make the decision weather or not the station would allow me to have this Sunday morning Program….

He was so kind to me and I was so nervous but I waited on the Lord, faith believing that if it was the Lords will than I would be approved.

He put the tape in and sits back and he began to listen and a couple of minutes passed and he stopped the tape. I thought to my self. That was a short time to listen and that probably he did not care for it. Well he turned to me and said, I like it when do you want to begin. He than told me the times available and he thought that Sunday morning at 8:30 am to 9:00 am would be a good time. I agreed and than I wrote the first check for the first month for the program.

I than very prayerfully began to plan what and how I was going to do this half hour of Gospel Music. As I started to write on paper the plan for the program all kind of ideas started flowing and before I knew it I had a program ready. I than put all on tape and there was my first Sunday morning program called Country Gospel Time with Barbara.

The weeks went by very quickly and I knew that I would not be able to afford to keep paying for the program. I began to pray about it because it had been a wonderful success and the area citizens enjoyed it so much I felt oh Lord what will I do.

The last program I announced that I would not be able to continue with the broadcast and that it would be the last one. I thanked them all for being so faithful to the program and that I hoped that it had been a blessing to all.

Shortly I received a call and it was this wonderful couple who spoke and said, Barbara how much is the cost to be able to continue the Sunday morning program. I told them how much and than they said, there are too many people who listen to you and are really being blessed and touched and ministered to that the Lord had spoke to us that we would be the ones to take care of the cost and that I would continue with the Sunday morning program

I began to cry and I think that they were too, and than I knew that it had been the Lords will for me to do it and that He needed for me to in faith believing step out and do it and than He made a way where there seemed to be no way to keep it going on the Radio Station.

When God called me to move to Virginia I thought that well that would have to be the end of the program. The station manager informed me that I could continue the program just record what I had for the Sunday morning Gospel Time With Barbara and they would play the tape.I continued for 7 more years from Virginia, when God is in something there is not telling what will happen.

It has now been 13 wonderful years and the Lord has just blessed me time and time again because of it. I have so many wonderful faithful people and friends who listened faithfully every Sunday morning and are so happy. Some finding Jesus as Savior and some being able to hear the music which touches the soul and the Word of God that could not get to church any more. God knows what He is doing if we can only listen wait and do what He wants us to do.

After carefully and prayerfully waiting on the Lord I have retired from the radio program and will move toward what the Lord has for me here in my new home in North Carolina. I wish to thank those who have supported me and listened each Sunday morning, you all have been a blessing to me and I pray that through song and words I have some how blessed you and helped you to get closer to God.

I wish to thank my Father God for allowing me to have such a wonderful program for all these years and I want to thank You Father for what you have for me next...

A special thank you to Ms. Ellie and Gorden,to the staff at WKTJ radio station ...thank you and God bless.

I have had the opportunity to record two albums, Singing In My Soul, and Calvary is the Reason.I found out that I could do all things through Jesus Christ.

This is what the Lord can do with a willing vessel if you will only trust and obey.

For those who have so faithfully supported me with the cost of the program, they have always asked not to be identified , so I can not say their names, but Jesus knows who they are and I am sure that He has and is blessing them for all they have done.Words can never express how I feel about them. I love them very much and I am for ever grateful.

Muriel Powers, receptionist, was always so helpful. She would always make sure the program for each Sunday would be all set up for the one who was to air it.Thank you Muriel and God bless you. And Muriel thank you for the smiles and friendleness everytime we would meet at the station, you are a special lady.
Nelson Doak, owner, now is no longer there due to health, but as General Manager and Music director he would always do such a wonderful job at introducing me and the program; I thank you Mr. Doak and God bless you. And Steve Bull thank you for giving this ministry a chance on your radio station.
2008 I retired the program after 13 years of ministering with Country Gospel Time with Barbara Thank You Lord, WKTJ, and those who so faithfully supported the program.Very sad to anounce that Steve Bull in 2009 passed away after a brief illness. The station has since been sold to another station.I will always remember this station and each one who was a part of it.

Music From God

When God gave us Music, what a glory it was!
From the song of a bird, to the crickets that buzz. And the low minor wail, of the wind in the trees;
To the symphony sweet, in the hum of the bees.
Oh! yes there is music, in soft summer rain,
As it plays staccato, on your windowpane.
The deep rolling roar of the thundering waves,
Is like the encore of French Horn whenit plays.
The soft gurgling brook as it dances along,
Plays light pizzicato or clarinet song. And thunder claps, in the sky overhead,
Are like crashing cymbals, in symohony led,
By our God, and our Father, Conductor and Friend;
Who gives all His music around us, to bend
Our hearts in submission, in humbleness too.
I 'm thankful God gave us Music! Aren't you?

Jeanne Knotts.
