![]() While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Genesis 8:22 With spring is just around the corner we begin to think of new life, new growth, and sowing seeds in our gardens. Whether it is flowers or vegetables or some new trees it is all a fresh start of life. There is a certain feeling of excitement that wells up within. This year we are going to see—the biggest pumpkin, the tallest corn, or best potatoes. Wonderful plans and after harvest good eating. But how about the seed sowing in your soul? What are you planting there? You would not plant thistles and dandelions in your garden. There are a lot of soul weeds out there in our world. I am not going to give you a list of “do’s and don’ts” because God has already given you a conscience to guide you in what is right and wrong. The problem is that we choose to plant soul weeds and then wonder why we have such a rotten harvest – thorns, thistles, pain and shame. The Bible (and nature) says that we reap what we sow. If you would like to reap peace, joy and blessing I have a few suggestions as to what you might sow in the garden of your soul. First sow the Word of God into your heart—read your Bible. Second plant some kindness—help out a neighbor in need. How about spreading some love—to your family, friends and maybe an enemy of two. Above all use some self-control—choose carefully what you plant because the harvest time will come. ******************** MY FRIEND MY FRIEND, I stand in the Judgment now And I feel you are to blame Somehow on earth I walked with you day by day And never did you point the way. You knew the Lord in truth and glory; But never did you tell me the Old, Old Story. My knowledge then was very dim And you could have led me safely to Him. Tho’ we lived together on earth, You never told me of that second birth. And now I stand this day condemned Because you failed to mention Him. You taught me many things, that’s true. I called you friend and I trusted you. But I learned now that it’s too late; And you could have kept me from hell and my fate. We walked by day and we talked by night; And yet you showed me not the light. You let me live & love you and die; And you knew I would never live on high. Yes I called you my friend in life; And trusted you through joy and strife; And yet coming to this horrible end – Can I REALLY call you my friend? *************************** COME! BE BLESSED! Bless the lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits, who forgives and you iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life form the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good as long as you live, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalm 103:1-5 These are the words of a man who is pleased with God. Do these words reflect your life? If they don’t, they could. If a person is a committed Christian then he will recite these words gladly and joyfully. The way to make these words a reality in your life is to ask Jesus and His Spirit to live with in your life. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Jesus not only told us how to live, he showed us how to live. When we live the way Jesus taught then we are really living. We have not only abundant life but we have eternal life. For the Christian death has no sting for he or she shall live on forever with God. There are great benefits for the Christians. Jesus forgives the sins of those who trust Him and agree with God that they have sinned. He heals all our diseases. He will heal you physically and spiritually if you trust Him. He saves us from the Pit of destruction. Often we have had close experiences where we could have been killed but He saved us. He gives us steadfast love and plenteous mercy. We know that He loves us because “God so loved the world that he gave his unique Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. He came not to condemn the world, but that the world though Him might be saved.” Jesus satisfies us as long a we live. We all are receivers. What do you have that you haven’t received? Everything that is good comes form god, the Creator and Maker of all things. If you would like your life to be described by the words Ion the Psalm above come and be a part of the fellowship of Mountain Meadow Christian Center. Come, grow with us in God and be blessed.
