St. Paul was the foundation upon which my life has been built. I had several fine teachers in my lifetime but two in particular had the greatest influence in my life. To this day I have no greater degree of respect for anyone than I have for Mr. Glen Kuck and Mr. Mark Bersie. They were both like second fathers to me and the older I get the more influenced I am by what I learned from these two men years ago. These two gentlemen served as mentors to me for years without even knowing it. I’m far from a perfect man, but because of these two men I was prepared for so many of life’s challenges that many faltered in the face of. In addition to being book smart, these two great men taught us all to be strong-willed and principled people. They taught us how to win at the game called “Life”. To be people who stood for something and who ultimately lived to served a purpose larger than us. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to cross paths with Mr. Kuck and Mr. Bersie and the culture of family and learning that they engendered at St. Paul. I am a proud graduate of St. Paul Austin and although I’m no longer in the area I’m still a proud member of the St. Paul family. Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!

Hello St. Paul Family. I graduated class of '93 and I must say the education gained at St. Paul was excellent. Along with the discipline and knowledge of how to actually study/think a problem through to find the best solution, I will tell you Mr. Kuck and Mr. Bersie I love you for it. St. Paul is like a friend that never forgets your face/name and always tells you, "It's good to see you." I look forward to becoming more active at my church for not only myself and family but the community as well. Hey Marvin and LeVada!

Hi, it’s April from the class of 87/88, it has been a wonderful summer this year. Facebook has allowed me to reconnect with old friends from both St. Paul and Walther Lutheran. St. Paul was the grass roots of my young life; it was a blessing to attend a school that was more than academics, it was a family. Tho, I have lost touch with many of the students it would be a pleasure to attend a reunion. Please keep me inform of any up coming events.

Hi, I used to live on Chicago Ave at Menard, and then on Menard, and attended your school from kindergarden through 1/2 of 3rd. grade. It must have been from '53-'56, and then we moved to California. I had Mrs. Zimmerman for kinder or 1st, and I think Mr. Meyers (?)for a couple of years. I was sad to leave, I remember we had just gotten gym uniforms for the first time, and as soon as mine came, we were leaving. I used to love the carnivals. What was downstairs? I remember waiting in line for my polio shot. We also had to play in the street, after teachers put the wooden horses up to block traffic. These are memories of a small child, and don't know how accurate they are. My mom just recently passed away, and in going through pictures, I ran across hers in the church choir. It triggered memories which made me search to see if the church and school are still active. Thanks for letting me share my "blast from the past"! Donna Moyer Long Beach, CA

Hi Glen and Mark, Saw your website and it looks good. I'm still working in Harvey SD #152 as a Literacy Coach. For those reading this that don't know me, I taught Kindergarten and 3/4th grade there during the 80's. Let me know of any reunions, I would love to see the students from those grades and years. They were truly a blessing in my life. Carol Summers Richton Park, Il

Don't even really know where to start. But I can go by saying I 3 older cousins to attend St Paul Austin Steve, Kevin and Shannon Terrell. My Kindergarten teacher Ms. Summers and then 3rd and 4th grade teahcer Mr. Bersie made sure I was kept in line through all if the badness and trouble I seemed to get into EVERYDAY. Just saying that if there is a school to choose and if I was still residing in Illinois there is no question my kids would definitely attend St. Paul. Please if there are any reunions or programs scheduled let me know so I can attend. Torrence

Hello Principal Kuck and Mr. Bersie, I was looking for a former classmate (Brendan Ruiz) on classmates.com and I could not locate our school from the St. Paul Lutheran schools listed so I searched google.com and located this website. My parents still live on Iowa Street and tell me from time to time that they see Mr. Bersie walk by on his way to St. Paul. Thank you for your continued support of our community through your teaching efforts. I can not believe that I graduated more than twenty-five years ago (class of 1982).

I went to St. Paul Lutheran many years ago and even though I did not graduate from there I sent my daughter Ariel Donalson who graduated in 2001. She then went on to graduate from Walther Lutheran High School in 2005. We have truly valued the benefits of having a Christian Education.

Hello, my name is Marvin Gray, Jr. and I graduated from St. Paul Lutheran in 1993 and still wish I was there with Mr. Kuck sometimes as well as all the other great teachers I've had there. I must say from reflecting on my past that St. Paul guides the youth in the right direction and I pray it continues. Please pray for me and my family. I am so happy that I found this web site searching about the Lutheran church (I see even my sister has been to the site - no one told me) But my life will change for the better keeping in mind that St. Paul showed me great love. Thanks.
