My niece and her friends are on their way back from Senior Week. They all agreed it was their best week of the summer. They wished it was 2 weeks long!!! I remember those days.

I missed cye this year. I had twin boys and just couldn't see myself with a two year old and two 9 month olds at camp this year. Possibly next year! My older kids missed it terribly and are ready to go back. My oldest will be there for Jr. High and is so excited. I am so excited I feel like I'm a kid.

Wow, it's been a loooong time. I am extremely lonesome for CYE...alas, we have another baby on the way, this one in July, it's our last one and then we are back in the saddle again! I want my children to grow up loving and looking forward to camp every summer just like I did.

Hey guys its been a loooooong time since i've been on the site but its good to be back. Well I would just like to say that I have had many many great memories at camp, more than I can count or tell, but my most favorite one of all. The one that beats all other memories was when I got up in front of everyone on sunday night, beggining of the week of senior week 2006, with shaky knees and nervous as I've ever been and asked Michelle lynn Johnston to be my wife, and now here I am almost exactly 2 years later and I am happily married to her. Wish I could make it to camp and who knows I just might this year(for a couple of days atleast I hope). Until I see you all again may God bless.

It has been wonderful to read all the comments posted here. I went to CYE in the late 70's and early 80's. I always had a great time. I formed lifelong friendships there.I had a few adopted grandmothers at camp. Mrs.Eva Babb and Mrs. Janie Jenkins are two of sweetest women you could ever meet,and are special to me til this day. I will be sending my oldest son there this week, and I am looking forward to hearing about his experiences. God Bless.

Hey where are all the "old" folks. Listen guys. I grew up with CYE. I absolutely loved every minute of it. Now that I have a family of my own I will try to impress on my kids that it is an important part of their christian life. I miss those wonderful weeks so much. I havent been able to go back lately with work and motherhood but one day my son will be old enough for junior week and won't we have a blast. I am happy to see that the love for CYE is still out there.

Hey Everybody! Wow! CYE is a wonderful place. It's done so manny important thingss in my life and it's an absolute treasure. I think everybody should make atleast one trip to CYE becasue after they go once they will never want to leave and always want to go back. THis past year was the best year ever. Here is the list of speakers and the topics for the Fall Family Retreat at CYE. Saturday at 10:00AM Dennis LeDoux speaking on "God's Purpose for the Family"; at 2:00PM Paul Estes on "Planning a Wedding or Planning a Marriage" which should be of interest to all singles whose mind is on getting married some day; at 6:00PM Jack Harris on "Keys To A Successful Marriage" and on Sunday AM Don McGee on "The Final Family Reunion" And don't forget the costume event where everyone is invited to dress up like a Bible character; no witches, demons, etc. Bring the stuff you will need for robes, beards, turbans, jewelry, etc. Do some research about how people dressed back then. Yes, you can be Adam or Eve, but only after God provided clothes for them -- not before the fall... (and no fig leaves, please). The weather will probably be somewhat cool and we gain an hour on Saturday night as we go back to standard time.

Mali, Will get the fall retreat schedule to you shortly. The fall work day at CYE is September 18th. Most workers will be arriving the evening of the 17th. As usual this will be a "bring your own food" event -- no time to cook. The board has instituted a dress code for the summer of '05. HELLO HELLO!!!! Man, I just read all the entries since Sr. Week. And the blues have returned. I miss everyone soo much. Just being out there and seeing everyone having a great time was awesome. We had a good many new campers this year, and once they got into the swing of things, they had a great time I think too! I know my cabin had a few new campers and they told me Thursday night that they were so glad they came! I appreciate so much Bro. Don and his family! But i won't go into that much because i'm supposed to be outside mowing... But let me just say, that thursday and wednesday night were my favorite nights at camp, and also the 2 where i lost more sleep. The singing wed. at singing time was so awesome, ya know with the storm and all at the same time. Then thursday night because i cried my eyes out! I was pretty cool until i hugged my mom, and there it went, and then hugged my other mom, Mrs. Lisa, and there i went again. Anyway, enough about that. I will stop there and i will let you read on down the page! But i do have to say that i miss Alyssa!!! Ok, i'm going now! I love you guys! and i hope you have a great year and carry what you learned and carry CHRIST with you into the school year! Keep HIM held high!!!! Love you guys!

Fun! Fun! Fun! Sr. Week was so great!! I've got the blues! I look at my camp picture every day and miss all of you. Sara, it's hard to think of what my favorite thing about camp is, 'cause I'm sooo homesick! I think my favorite thing is being in the messhall when it rains. I love that because EVERYONE is in there and it's really loud and everyone is playing games and laughing! It's just a really cool time. Boy, I could think of a million favorite things!! YO YO YO YO.... Can you say homesick? I miss all you guys so much! Katie, I miss your smile/hug and kiss every morning; Michelle, I miss seeing your gorgeous red hair and beautiful smile everyday;Tara and Lisa, I miss laughing until my stomach hurts and my face is stuck; Robin, I miss singing with you and laughing with/at you; Tara Johnson, I miss having a crush on your boyfriend (haha); Matt and Cody; I miss kicking both of your booties at ping-pong; Tim Parrot, I miss your prayers during prayer circle.....I think I could go on forever and ever.... I am trying to compile a list of the top ten things about camp....just wanted to know what everyone's favorite thing is about camp. I think mine is during chapel when the sun is setting, and on the left side of the chapel, the woods are dark, but on the right side the hill is still light, and the sky is all different colors...it's like God is giving us a special painting every night. I thank God everyday that my mom and then my parents went to CYE, because I have learned how to love Jesus more through the people there. I challenge everyone to start praying about retreat and next summer. I know God can do totally awesome things. I love you all so much!

HEY EVERYBODY!!! I don't know where to begin, I am torn in two right now!... For those of you who don't know i have been working at a camp in Pleasant Hill for the summer and though it will never compare to CYE by any strecth of the imagination, I am having a blast. I work with a staff of about six people and we have the best time! I never thought that cleaning a toilet would be that enjoyable!!! But what really makes this camp great are the kids that come in everyweek. They have blessed my heart in so many ways! Sitting through a worship service listening to 200 kids, 8 and under, singing "I can only Imagine" gives me chill bumps! I just really can't describe how that encourages my heart and makes me that much more excited for the return of my Savior!!! On the other side of that page. I went home the weekend before Jr. Week started and it was all I could do not to cry while I was watching Suzan(Bea)pack. I think I was beginging to get on her nerves because I was following her around everywhere giving her pointers about camp and telling her what to do and who to hug for me. Anyway, I know where you are coming from Aaron, because that whole week, even though I was at a camp, I kept thinking about CYE. I had the blues bad!! I'm sure the others staffers thought I was a little nuts cuz I would start crying becuase something some one did made me think of CYE and they couldn't figure it out. However to quit taking up space and to end this very long note! I just want to say that this will be a summer I will never forget, and for those of you going to CYE, take in every moment that you are there because trust me when I say that you will cherish those memories later!!!! I am actually at the Grand Canyon. It's awesome but I will miss camp this year. After reading the postages from some of ya'll, I can't think of how much I miss ya'll. HEY EVERYONE!!!! Well, another jr. week is passed! What a time that was! 120 plus campers and 40 something staff members!!! It was a great week! I know that I was blessed by being there! This was the first camp week in my entire life, that when i left on friday, I had tears in my eyes! I just had the best time! I lost sleep and my voice! but it was worth it! You know, i turned down a trip to Prague in the Czeck Republic to go to jr. week! I was invited to go and sing and it would have only cost me about 50-60 bucks to change over the ticket. But it would have been the week of jr. week, and i just couldn't bear not being there with the kids and my friends and family! I think it was one of the best decisions of my life!!!! I don't regret it, and i don't think i ever will! Anyway, i'm amazed that no one has written anything about the week on here yet. I know from talking to people that they loved the week, but usually by now, this place was booming with camp news! Let's get on the ball!!! :-) ALright that's all i have to say. And yes, Quentin, I do remember who you are! Bummer you can't be there this year! Maybe you can come one day! Don't forget the guitar! haha! Later man, later all! I want to start with the people that are at camp they just don't know how lucky they are. until they are hurting cause they couldn't go then they will know what camp is and right now i am hurting bad. I can't get away from the world like you can because of school, away from my troubles and just forget about everything like you can when you are at camp. And to the ones that are thinking of going, i beg you to go cause if you don't you will miss so much, i promise that if you go that at least one point during the week that you will get a blessing from somebody, something, someway, somehow i guarantee it. You just don't know what a privaledge it is to go until you can't. You know, i'm sitting here, at about 1:30 in the morning... I'm having trouble sleeping because of things that are troubling me. So i decided to check out the cye website. I read a few of the guestbook entries, and moved on to the favorite memories. I think i must have read each one. My eyes have been filled with tears for about half an hour. Not so much because i miss camp, but because I realize how much i have a lack of faith sometimes. Right now, i have things that are bothering me, and affecting my sleep. that doesn't usually happen to me. But I read these things, and i'm reminded of the feeling at camp. that feeling that if you have problems, someone will talk to you... I wish i were there right now, to talk to Bro. Don or Bro. Duane or one of those super guys! After sometime away from camp, i usually forget that God will help me. that if i just put my worries and cares on Him, and truly believe that He will help me through them, then I have nothing to worry about. That's one of the things that leaves me wanting more and more camp. The fact that you are always reminded that God is there! And that HE will provide and sustain you. Man, I love you guys...doc

Just a note about the status of the new boys bathouse--looking good! Roof is on, walls painted, toilets and petitions soon to be set. Lots of folks are working hard on this and other projects at CYE, but Larry and Carl from Pine Prairie are leading the charge on the bathhouse project. We are solving the problem with low water pressure on the boy's side--that is something to look forward to. Remember work day on June 1st.

Just a note about the new boys bath house. Things are going great! The old bathhouse is now just a memory and the new one is on the way up. Everyone is excited and looking forward to the camp season which begins in only three months. Work day is June 1st. Most will get there on Friday night in order to get a good start Saturday AM. I must say again that I have never seen such interest by teens and young adults as I see today. The teens of today will be the board members, directors, cooks, couselors, teachers, etc. of tomorrow. The future care and oversight of CYE is not only a serious responsibility, but is also a wonderful legacy that must be nutured and passed down to coming generations as we wait for Jesus to return for us. Had a couple minutes to spare here at work, so thought I'd say "HEY". Garland (son) and I are gonna try to make the 11/9/01 retreat, or at least most of it. Hopefully, I can pull this off - can't wait to see all my old pals. I really don't know if I'll know how to act in that gorgeous new bathhouse. I couldn't believe the changes made when I came to pick up Garland from Sr. Week. Tara and Lisa brought me over to see it, and really, it's such an improvement to what was there. All you youngen's who never got to experience the old bathhouse are really missing out (not really). Hope to see everyone in a couple weeks!

Maybe it's just the weather or maybe it's everything that's going on in the world lately, but I have been having the camp blues for the past two weeks. I have watched the camp video twoce this week, but I think it's just making it worse. I cannot wait for the retreats to begin. There is nothing like CYE to remind us that their are safe places in the world. Places where the only things you have to worry about are "am I gonna sleep tonight or stay up talking...AGAIN", or "I wonder if anyone will notice if about 50 people move here permanetly and declare this place cyeworld." or "how much weight am I gaining from the awesome food those wonderful cooks insist on cooking". We are lucky to live in a country where we have the freedom to go to a place like CYE. Thank you Jesus for being the God of Hope. We have hope for this world because we have Jesus(and that small slice of heaven-on-earth we like to call CYE). I really miss all of you guys. Be praying for Chad, he is in the National Guard and there is a possiblity that he may be called to duty. And if you have not seen Greg since his surgery than you are in for a treat, he is the same ol worderful guy before all his pain started (he so good you can catch Lisa waving a fist at him every once in awhile). See all of you at the retreats.

hi everybody, this is hugs, i just wanted to add to what michelle was saying, this is definitely a devastating time for our nation and we need to keep the families of those people who were killed in our prayers, (I also know people with family members who were killed in the World Trade Towers), but we need to look forward also and be praying for the leaders of our country, especially President Bush. He is now the voice for the entire country and whatever he says will be done in a short period of time. We need to keep this in our prayers and pray for wise decisions on our President's part. Hey everyone! What’s up? Well, here not too much. Just thinking about how much of an impact camp had on me. It was my first year and I just loved it so much and I loved meeting all the great workers and all the nice people. And best of all I'm so glad I got to meet my relatives (Brother Don, Mrs. Val, Aunt Becky, Brother Duane, Amanda, Katie, Travis, Aunt Tara and her little girl, Mrs. Mali and my little sweeties (her kids). And I am so blessed to have such great family members, and thank God I am blessed with you! I also want to thank Robin for going to get Brother Korey to come talk to me when I was so confused and needed someone to talk to. God bless you, Brother Korey, and where you are moving? I hope you never forget what you brought to my life this past summer! I will always remember this summer as long as I live and the man that helped me through it! hmmmm, where to start? first things first...I GOT THE BLUES!!!!!!! camp blues stink!!! for bro. duane: camp was AWESOME!!!! ro korey: you did a great job with the singing, and i think i speak for everyone when i say that we will all miss you terribly. bro sonny: you were great also! i loved being in your class that one day when bro donny was sick. i enjoyed it thoroughly and wish i could have stayed in it all week. you are definitely one of the few people i could listen to preach for hours w/o falling asleep. hehe. for mrs. lauren, mrs. valerie, mrs. betty, and lynn, and all of the other cooks: y'all are the best! every meal was delicious as usual, not a single flaw. and lynn, jesus shown through you this past week. most guys wouldn't wake up at the crack of dawn to help a bunch of ladies feed a hundre people. and for everyone else who helped out this week: THANK YOU! it was great, and i can't wait till retreat! and i second amanda nthis: bathhouse or no bathhouse...sr week and retreat just isn't enough!!!!!!!!! well, that's it for now.. i miss y'all and love y'all and i am totaly ooking forward to when i see y'all again. Hey everyone. I miss ya'll so much. It is only Monday and I alread want Senior Retreat to be here. I miss everyone so much. Leaving camp this year was really diffcult, usually it is not so bad but this year it was. Maybe it was because I was rebaptized. I really enjoyed our emo-devos in the bathouse. I personally think that the bathouse gave us a more comfortable situation instead of in our cabins. Please keep me in your prayers because I will begin school again soon. Pray that God will show me a vision for my life. I know that he will. Email me everyone, I would love to keep in contact with people especially from camp because it is the best place to be on earth. Hey everyone! Well, it is great to hear these comments about sr. week. Personally, it just gets better and better every year. This year, i saw a group of guys come close together. When Chris and Randy wanted to be immersed into Christ, the guys in my cabin were ready to go before I was. And then us all singing in Aaron's cabin, thursday night. The best Thursday night I have ever had. Then they wanted to go sing for some baptisms that were going on. So they did, and it was just, awesome. I was so touched to see a group of guys want to get together, sit in a cabin, and praise GOD! that doesn't happen everyday! I can guarantee you that! But God so richly blessed us all this week! And yes sir, the Spirit was moving!!! Praise GOD!!!!!! I am bluesin'! OKay, that's enough. I love you guys, so much!! Praise HIM! Cause God is great! ALL THE TIME!

Hey you guys and gals! I can only second the comments made about how awesome Sr. week was! I have the blues so terribly bad!!! I miss the emo-devos so much! I have this deep desire now to go sit in my bathroom at home and read my bible(just joking, maybe?!?!) My dad and I were listening to the news awhile ago and the last segment was like this world wrap thing and there was a segment on there where a group of Jews had tried to lay a cornerstone down for the new "temple", but the palestine people had caused a riot because they don't want the temple. This news makes chills run all over me! May we ever be looking up in anticipation for the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!! To all you Jr. Week workers - thanks for training and having fun with the younger ones. Talk it up for us. There will be at least 31 kids from Grace Christian School in Alexandria, LA at Jr. High Week this year. Maybe we'll have 80 - 100 campers like we used to. I really miss the big groups of kids. Hey. Do I have the CYE Blues or what. I miss camp so much. I had a great time at camp and it even gave me a little insight to why I love that camp so much. This July, will make five years that I have been a Christian. I was baptized at camp also, so it holds a special place in my heart. I wish camp was all summer long. WOW! This past week was fabulous! I had such a blast working with the kids at Jr. Week! I think my mom is sick of hearing about it because I feel the need to keep repeating everything that happened over and over again because I have the blues so bad!!My lil sis had a blast too! I think she has a bit of the camp blues too though because last night she wanted to sleep on her floor in her room in her sleeping bag she took to camp. Of course she could just be weird though, because I never did anything like that??!?!?!? Anyway I have begun to babble so I will let you all go! This is a great website for an institution that made such an impact on my life during those teenage years. I attended the first year Junior Week at CYE was opened back in whenever. I also witnessed the hard work and dedication of the men and women that built CYE. There were alot of Saturdays sacrificed by men and women from all over the state of Louisana as well as the Dallas area. I've enjoyed reading the comments that many have shared about the time spent at camp. May the Lord richley bless those of you still envolved at CYE and may His name continue to be glorified. When my Grandfather went home to be with the Lord (Bro Ivey Istre), I was given his album of camp pictures that were 8 x 10s that dated back to the days at Chico State Park. I am finally out for the summer, but I feel like my brain has been streched in a million different directions! I've learned that the college blues are almost as bad as the camp blues! hey everyone, i just wanted to remind anyone whose lost hope in something that prayers really do work. even specific ones. i prayed quietly the other night that my good friend (who by the way was sitting on the roof not 10 feet away from where i was) would do God's will and turn away from some bad things that she's been doing and when i asked her to the first time, she said no completely and she thought about it for a long while and God must've touched her heart because she gave in in tears. :) it was really heartwarming and humbling. :) well, its a true story about how God works in fabulous ways on people's hearts. i love yall all out there in cye land. Hey everyone. I just want to say thank you for praying for my best friend. Before I can say anything, she is no longer in the hosiptal. She had a tumor on her heart but she had surgery on Thursday and they removed it. She is at home recovering which is good news. I can see her when I go home for Spring Break I am so happy. Hey everyone. I miss everyone so much. I have a couple of prayer request. I have a great uncle who is in the hospital with congesitive heart failure. Just pray that God will see him through these rough times. Also, I have an aunt and uncle who just spilt up. Pray that God will show them both the light. I have a 10-year old cousin caught in the middle. One more prayer request is for my best friend. She is in the hospital in New Orleans with problems with her heart. I am not sure exactly what is wrong with her. Just pray that God will show her and her family through this troublesome time. It is really difficult one me right now because I have not see her in a long time. And a praise, the doctors thought that my uncle who is in the hospital with congesitive heart failure had cancer. But he does not, just holes in his stomach from all the antacids he takes. Thanks everyone for praying for me and my problems. Continue to pray for me in these troublesome times. This is great! I've been through the whole sight, and it definately brought back a lot of memories. It seems like I've been going to CYE forever. I went every year as a kid, missed a few years after college, then started going as a counselor/activities person with the Turkey Creek Church of Christ group for Jr. High week. I love the pictures! I've always been terrible with names, so the pictures really help. I was disappointed that there was only 1 photo from Jr. High Week 2000. I know we had lots of them, we'll just have to make sure we get them to the right person. I teach 5th grade at Grace Christian School in Alexandria, LA. In 2000, I brought a group of kids from my school to camp, and they loved it. I'm hoping to bring a larger group this year. I'm married to a wonderful man named Shannon Weatherford (son of Carrol Dean and Evon from Turkey Creek), and we have two children, Eric and Amber. Some of you may remember Clyde Ware and I dating for years. We were married for 4 years and were blessed with Eric before our marriage ended. Clyde has also remarried and has 2 other children. I'm sure you could contact him through his aunt, Brenda Leggett. I'm thankful for this website and the Email directory, especially since we will be moving to Texas this summer! :-) :-(

Hey you guys!!!!! I have missed everyone so very much!!! I trust that you all had a great Chirstmas and Lord willing, I hope that you will have a Happy New Year! This past year has seemed to go by so fast! It has been a year ago today that my mom was diagnosed with cancer. As of the last reports, she was clear of any form of the cancer! YEA! This only goes to show the power of prayer! I know that it was only through God's grace that my mom is still here with us! I thank you so much for the prayers and support that each of you has offered to me and my family! I only hope that I can return the favor! You guys are in my prayers daily! About the youth rally...WHOA!!!! I can't wait!!!I really am suppose to have some friends from NSU there this time really! They didn't make to Sr. retreat because the date conflicted with prior engagements that they didn't realize were going on at the same time. However, they have known about this 3 months in advance! Hey you guys! Well, it's Thanksgiving night and I am stuffed! Thought that I'd sign on and see whatsup. Carla, I think the street car deal would be great. Christmas would be fine but so would New Years! Wednesday night Lisa T was talking about the Winterfest in Arlington, Texas and we are thinking about checking on charter buses instead of individual vehicles so we could have fun all the way there and back. I think this would be around the end of January or the beginning of February for a whole weekend. We would leave on Friday morning and get back Sunday evening. We had an awesome time last year. The comedy team CPR was so funny Miss Lisa and I nearly had an accident (peed in our pants). All of our youth group came back inspired. The speakers were terrific and the singing was truly awesome. At the Sr. Retreat this year I talked to Becky Jolibois and Karen Hine about a holiday party on a street car in New Orleans. We have gone on street car parties with our church, Causeway BLVD. in Mandeville where Mark and our family attend. It is a lot of fun and very unique. We decorate our street car and bring whatever drinks and snacks we want to have and sometimes sing carols, sometimes just have fun with everybody there. I will get complete information soon but I think that the street car holds about 50 or so. I'll also check on the fee but I know that it would be under $10.00 per person. If I get enough response within the next few days I will call to reserve one. Let me know good dates. Would around Christmas or the New Year be better? Try to get back to me soon if you're interested because the street cars begin to get reserved pretty quickly at holiday time. Carla Bundy

WEll, good to hear that the Youth Rally plans are underway! I hope that Terry Davis "will" be there this year! Just to let you guys know, I'm in the process of doing a performance and I must say that it's going great! WE had dress rehearsal Wed. Night and a perf. last night. We have one tonight and sat. night. WE are doing a "madrigal dinner" at school. It's being held in this old building where they train the blind. It's an old convent. They tore everything up except the chapel, which resembles a medieval castle. So the setting is great, and I'm the JESTER! Imagine that. WEll, i'm gonna go, cause I have to get ready! WEll, all i can say it that, GOD IS GREAT ALL THE TIME!!!! What a retreat! I mean I felt that GOD really touched all of us, and we all recieved a blessing. The singing was phenomenal! hey you guys! for those of you who missed the retreat, I have something to tell you. IT WAS AWESOME!!!!!I think that was the best retreat i have been to in YEARS! And let me tell you what...I've got the blues!!!! They're horrible. Dad says hey, (he's got em bad too.) We had a lot of new people come and a really great turn-out. What did everybody think about the assembly saturday afternoon? Give some more feedback on that. Personally, I got sooo much out of that. We finally got our bonfire too, and boy did it feel good to sit by the bonfire and drink hot chocolate and eat smores.(thanks to mark and nicole Dauzat) It was just a blast and I really hated to leave, as usual, and I can't wait to see everyone at the Jennings youth rally. WEll, hopefully before then. I really felt God's presence was there majorly this weekend in everyone. Can't wait to do it again! Until then...all my love~HUGS~

Well, I tell you guys what!!! GOD IS GREAT ALL THE TIME! Sure we didn't have a big group there at the lockin but for a small group and a bunch of sick people the singing was awesome! Bro. Duane had a great lesson. The activities were exciting, and I bowled the best I have ever bowled in my life! Then the haunted house! let me tell you guys this, if you ever scare Katie McGee be sure you are far enough away from her or she will attack you! Trust me I saw it! but she will have to explain the rest! Then we went to fifth Sunday singing at Hayden Grove Church of Christ last night, and boy was it fun! We dont' have those around pine prairie or my church in LeCompte! But I'm sure gonna try to get one together! IT was fun, exciting, I saw friends I haven't seen in years, and boy was that some good food! i even got to do my impression of Bro. Don McGee, IN FRONT OF HIS FACE! NOt by choice I tell you! But anyway, GOD certainly has made this an awesome year for me. The camp weeks, the lockins and the retreats! It has been truly awesome, and everytime, I feel I get a little closer to God every time! Hey folks, I just have had this on my heart all weekend. First the retreat touched me. Especially sat. night. I could really feel God's presence there! But this is what has been bothering me. I just wanted to say that we need to always remember that if we are going to call ourselves Christians, we must first understand what that word means. it means Christ-like! We need to strive to be Christ-like in everything we do! whether it be doing God's work or just living our daily lives we need to show that we are Christians, not by words alone but by deeds. If you are a true Christian and are working hard to be the best you can be for God then people will see that and respect you for it! Trust me! It works. Sure we mess up, but that's how God tests us to see how strong we are. And each test can make us stronger if we work towards it! I heard a minister say once that everyone wants a testimony. But doesn't want a test. And if we do get tested we get the monies!! That's what we don't want! We should be the best we can be and if we are tested, then remain Christians through it and strive to be stronger! But no matter what, be Christ-LIKE! Amen

Hey everyone! I just wanted to say that I appreciate all that God does through so many of you, through the works at camp and youth rallies, and lock-ins. God has truly blessed all of us in so many ways. Awesome is not enough to describe our God, amazing is not enough to describe his grace, mercy and love. We can't use our limited vocabulary, we can only show His "wonderfullness" by our lives. I have to remember that to witness Christ to someone, I have to live my life COMPLETELY for God, and then God will give me the strength to talk to them and share not just the Good News, but the most FANTASTIC news ever.....Jesus died for ME and He rose again, and I will live with Him forever. Praise the Lord! I'm not trying to lecture, God has just put that on my heart to share....I love you all so much and pray that God blesses your lives everyday and that we are all living only for Christ. Read Psalm 136....it shows how we should be so thankful for everything God has given us. Have a wonderful, God-filled day!

Well, I want to give a second amen to doc and michelle about that youth rally, it was really awsome. I'll say that. I especially liked the bowling, singing, speaker, movie, and oh, yeah, the part about being with my friends. well, i guess i should say i liked the whole thing. the singing just brought you back to those wonderful sr. week moments when you get the goose bumps from hearing everyone sing, the speaker was new and funny, and the bowling added a new little twist. I can't wait till the retreats to see everyone again! Also, mark on your calendars about the Denham Springs lock-in, on October 27th. It's gonna be a lot of fun, and we're always up for new ideas. Amen, michelle. I must say that all the hard work paid off. I slept the whole next day, but it was worth it. God is just AWESOME, and then some on that! We had about 56 people there, and for that little building that is pretty near full!!!! Besides that, this morning we welcomed a new brother into Christ!! OH HAPPY DAY!!!! Well, folks, the lockin is tomorrow. Me and my sister just went and bought all the food for tomorrow. Expecting a pretty good crowd. Hope everyone can come. I would really like to see if we can fill the little churh at lecompte up. Going to be lots and lots of singing. Not too much, cause I sang so much last weekend that I was vocally exhausted, which isn't great for a vocal student, but as of today I'm back to normal. Hey folks, Just want to make sure everyone knows the correct date for the Amite Youth Rally--September 16th, 9:00AM to 5:00PM. Korey has planned an outstanding program for the day. It is billed as a Special 4th Edition--Fallfest 2000 and the theme is "Prepare for the Battle of the Ages--The Lion of Judah vs. The Great Deceiver" You should see the full color poster!! There will be lots of praise and worship and lunch will be provided (one of our deacons made a good deal a few months ago on a truck load of fresh road-kill pressed possum). Music will be provided by Bobby Colvert, Jason Patrick (everyone remembers Jason--The Lion Sleeps Tonight...!!!!), Brandon and Sheryl Thomas and David Woodard. The special guest speaker will be John Ott from Nashville. Looks like a number want to stay for Sunday--the best places to stay are in Hammond. The new Executive Inn and Suites (504-429-0120---across from Cracker Barrel); Holiday Inn Express and Suites (504-345-0556--very nice); The Ramada Inn (504-542-1000). Take your choice, they are all about 30 minutes from where the goings-on will be going on. Sunday morning will be great, and everyone is invited to be with us then also. Please do not forget to take a few minutes each day and ask for God to place His hand of blessing on this effort. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Duane and Amanda, Jake will have time off from school and Mom and Dad were planning a trip down sometime in the near future so we may be able to work it out. The boys both have hunting tags for around that time so I will have to see how that will all work out with the schedule. They would be in the age group for Jr. week. I will also need to find out who I need to contact for the work situation (as far as being a counselor or cook) I'm really hoping we can work it out. I would love to be able to share the cye experience with my boys!

Hey Everyone, Daddy (Bro. Stan) had a new surgical procedure done on his left eye yesterday. He has had several laser surgerys in the past, but none have really helped much. The doctors believe this will be the answer. He came through the surgery fine and they let him go today. He and Mama are spending tonight with Sam and Dorothy Moreland in Gonzales (the surgery was done in New Orleans). He won't know just how well it worked for about 2-3 weeks. Please send up prayers especially for him and Mama during this time. We would like nothing better than to see him be able to have his eyesight whole again, and I know this handicap has been especially hard on him since he's not ready to let go of his responsibilities. I want him to be able to come to the house and get on this website to read all the great messages all have written. I'll try to update everyone when I know more. Thanks for your prayers.

About the closing in of the Tabernacle, I was told my Dad that it was just a proposal and that nothing was agreed on yet. I personally think that closing in the tabernacle is ridiculous. It really isn't that hot in there, the bugs aren't that bad, with an occasional horsefly now and then, but that is what makes it camp. Being able to hear God's word and see his wonderful works all around us, that is when I am humbled and I can see what a truly mighty and AWESOME GOD we serve!!!

Hey folks......isn't this great?!? Mali, you are wonderful. It's been a week since the end of the summer camping season, and we're all walking around with the "after camp" blues. Just missing everyone sooo much!! Just remember folks... we had three young people give their lives to Christ last week. Don't forget to add these babes in Christ to your prayer lists. Katie Verret, Beverly Hubbard, and Velvet Gaspard's names were added to the book of life. Also, we had five young folks come forward asking for our prayers. We can use this site to keep in touch with them perhaps?? I've got so much I'd like to say... although, not as eloquently as Tommy....., but, we have time for that later. Oh.....sending the check off Monday 8/7, to get our own little adress. And, in the way of news.....the Board decided to build a new Girl's and a new Boy's bath house for next season.
