MISSION AND GOALS OF SARCU
|
The mission of S.A.R.C.U (Small and Rural Churches United) is to provide resources for clergy and laity of small and rural churches within the A.M.E Church and to strengthen our denomination through the mutual sharing of information and encouragement.
This is solely a support organization and does not take the place of official A.M.E sanctioned programs. Our Bishops and general officers cannot be expected to provide all information that is useful to small and rural churches. We must work in partnership with our Church leaders and provide innovative and networking tools to maintain the fabric of our small churches.
To that end all A.M.E churches around the world are invited to join our support group and small churches of other denominations are also welcomed our goal is equip the saints and to extend kingdom building to every region in the world.
In order for our group to be successful we invite everyone to send suggestions of programs, fundraising ideas and encouragement to one another.
GOALS
1.) To maintain a vibrant christian fellowship within our small churches with a membership of 125 or less.
2.) To affirm the importance of every A.M.E church regardless of size. For where two or more are gathered there is Christ.
3.) To help our churches and denomination grow by evangelism and church planting.
4.) To work with the office of Church Growth and Development.
5.) For Christ to be the focus of our Church not membership, budget, buildings or personalities.
6.) To nurture and encourage all A.M.E churches through, prayer, email and other means that will foster friendships. And to stand in solidarity with one another.
7.) To share resources with one another to further the well being and spiritual health of our churches.
