SOMETIMES AND OTHER TIMES ![]() SOMETIMES Sometimes Lord, the mountain is too high for me to climb And sometimes, Lord, the valley is too low Sometimes Lord, I wonder why I am here on this earth But Lord, I know that you know Lord, I thank you for that altar where I can fall down and beg for your grace sometimes I just need reminding That you've already been there in my place Sometimes Lord, I just wonder But Lord, I know that you know. written by Stephanie, 10-29-02 The following poem was written by my daughter Miranda on 9-18-02, she was 9 years old at the time. God is Lord. God is everywhere. God gave us the Bible. God gave us food. God gave us life. God is great. God is good. God is with us. Amen. These poems written by my friend and Sister in Christ. Used by permission. When I feel discouraged with all life's complications... I must call upon the Lord with fervent supplication. When I'm feeling lonely, and no one seems to care... I must call upon the Lord, for He is always there. When I'm feeling battered, and the world seems like my foe... I must call upon the Lord; His comfort then will flow. When I'm feeling angry, and afraid that I may sin... I must call upon the Lord for grace to be sent in. When I'm feeling stressed-out, I don't think I can cope... I must call upon the Lord; He is my only hope. When my feelings overwhelm me, my focus becomes dim... I must remember calm assurance comes from NONE but Him. ©kim henderson 2/2003 I gazed out my window late one morn and what to my surprise? A bird was hopping about in song, working to find her prize. On any other normal day, I'd have looked and walked away... But something about this little bird left my heart in true dismay. The ground was hard and frozen still, and a meal she could not find... It looked as if she stopped and prayed, and that God would answer her kind. The next thing she saw was a bowl full of food, the type that's meant for a pet. It wasn't exactly what she usually ate, but with it her table she'd set. Piece by piece she thankfully took it, risking her life with each step... for the pet from which she stole it, watched intently, her zeal and pep. Now all of this may seem as though it's really not all that grand... But let me tell a reason that the bird would need God's hand... But you see, that bird, she had only one leg and to some, it's a sure disability... With her prayer, some faith, some zeal and some pep, God calls it "thisability." ©kim henderson 2/2003 ![]() |
