![]() MY BOOK, 'A FAMILY'S STRONGHOLD' BY GINNYLYNN IS AVAILABLE!! A Family’s Stronghold contains poetry and short stories dealing with family challenges, especially the disease of Alzheimer’s, and the joys of experiencing a family’s love and support. The beauty of God’s creation, as well as life’s challenges, inspire me to write. I pray that your spirit will be lifted. ....... “I reach out and lovingly pat Mom on the back. With her knitted cap atop her head, she slowly shuffles out the door. It’s so sad to see her declining physically and emotionally and there is absolutely nothing to stop it!” “Seeing my dad shake with each breath he took due to Pulmonary disease, watching as his life’s essence slowly drained from his body, I made a vow to myself that any writing I compiled would be dedicated to him.” With a shaking hand and a body racked with pain, he persevered to show his family the beauty that can be brought forth in words. His inspiration and writings that flowed forth from his weak body have been my inspiration to write.” We are offering you an opportunity to secure your personal copy of this unique book, written under the pen name Ginnylynn, at the special pre-release discount price of $11.95. http://www.amazon.com/Familys-Stronghold-Ginnylynn/dp/1413708196/ref=sr_1_2/105-3547423-3011653?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1189990877&sr=1-2 > | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Time Warp
I threw the A.A.R.P. magazine onto my coffee table. I hadn’t expected the emotional response that occurred inside me. How did I get to the place that I’m eligible for THAT magazine?! It didn’t seem that long ago I was reading Teen Magazine!
Physically, I feel as if I need to read AARP. Between the aches in my knees and feet, I imagine myself as 70. My emotions have certainly fluctuated over these many years, but basically have remained the same. Life is tricky. It sneaks up on you. When you least expect it, it jumps out and announces loudly, “YOU’RE OLD!” I feel as if I’ve entered a time warp.
Perhaps I need to embrace my age and enjoy the freedoms I now have that I didn’t have when I was a young mother. Quiet times to meditate or read. Watch a T.V. show uninterrupted. Pursue new dreams or adventures.
Whatever lies ahead, I will face it undeterred. I will. Once the shock wears off.
