DO YOU KNOW JESUS?
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Have you ever thought about what it means to have everlasting life? It is an amazing thing that God has done for us that we may have that life eternal. God said that WHOSOEVER would believe in His Son, Jesus, would have everlasting life.
He didn't say, "only the people with fancy cars and large bank accounts". He didn't say,"only the people who live in certain neighborhoods and belong to such and such group". And thankfully, God didn't say,"only the so-called good people".
WHOSOEVER, that means you and me and Joe-Bob that lives down the street. God loves us all so very much that He sent His Son from heaven to suffer and die so that we might be forgiven and live.
Acts 2:21
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Saved from what? The answer is, saved from being eternally seperated from the presence of God. Adam and Eve committed the first sin, willfully disobeying God. That sin caused a seperation in the full fellowship that they had with God. God did not create us to be apart from Him, He loves us and wants us to be with Him.
We are born with sin. Even a 2 year old will lie if she thinks it will keep her from being in trouble. In the Old Testement, a blood sacrifice was required to make atonement for sin so that fellowship with God could be maintained. When God sent Jesus to that cross at Calvary, Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice and atonement for sin. No other would ever be needed, the sin debt was paid in full.
What Do I Have To Do To Be Saved?
1) Admit to Being A Sinner
2) Believe What God Has Done Through Jesus
3) Confess Jesus Before Men
Admit
First you have to admit to yourself and God that you are a sinner. He already knows but you have to know it too. When you admit it then you are able to ask forgiveness of it.
Believe
Believe in your heart that Jesus came to earth and lived as a man without sin. Believe that Jesus died on the cross because He loved you and didn't want you to be bound by sin. Believe that Jesus rose from the tomb after three days and rose to the Father. Believe that Jesus is coming back again to rule and reign.
Confess
Confess your belief and acceptance of Jesus before the world. Tell others what Jesus has done for you. Jesus said in Matthew 10:32, " Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven".
I pray that you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. If you haven't, pray and accept Him today. Being saved will not automatically make life perfect but it will give you a peace and security that you will never know otherwise.
