Because some Christians depart from, cast off, or stray from the faith (1 Tim. 4:1, 5:12, 6:10,21). If we don't continue in God's goodness, we will be cut off (Romans 11:17-22). If our speech becomes tasteless, we will be thrown out (Luke 14:34,35). One can sell their birthright (Heb. 12:15-17). For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins - Heb. 10:26. Look what Paul knew could have happened to him (1 Cor. 9:27), or to an elder (1 Tim. 3:6,7), or see what can happen to any Christian (2 Peter 2:20,21). I hope you aren't one of those who will not endure sound doctrine (2 Tim. 4:3,4). I hope for your best. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
