Over 500 Dead Come Alive!
|
All Saints day is combined with Halloween, All Saints Day, and All Souls Day which start on October 31st. and continue through November 2. When you add a weekend into that, what you have is five days of living with the dead!
Graveyards that are filled with tombs built above the ground turn into shelters for family meetings all around the Philippines . They gather around the grave of one passed on, eat food, smoke, drink, party, stay up all night, then leave the remaining foods for the spirits of the dead.
After starting our first church, one of the greatest disappointments that we suffered was when “All Saints Day” fell on a Sunday. Half of our church people that had been won to Jesus did not show up at church. Our Sunday morning services were almost empty and let’s don’t mention the evening services. Miss Debbie and I were stunned when we realized that our faithful members traded worshipping the Living, for worshipping the dead.
Since our first year’s let down, I have spent many hours in Sunday School teaching on what the Word of God says about calling on dead spirits. Over the past three years we were able to boast with normal attendance and our people have learned not to get involved with dead spirit worship. We praised the Lord each year as we see them growing in the Word.
This year the Lord began to speak to my heart about the multitudes of people that visit the tombs, pray over the dead spirits, and go home with their own soul in the same condition of the ones they visited. Jesus spoke of the “religious crowd” that they too were full of dead men’s bones.
Mt 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
How many precious people visit the graves of the dead, but in reality they too are spiritually dead and on their way to hell? How many will end up in the same condition of their past generations who trusted “religion” for salvation?
This year we loaded up our Bible Students, Staff, and thousands of Gospel tracts that simply ask “If You Died Right Now, Do You Know For Sure That You Would Go To Heaven? The results were overwhelming!! Over 500 precious souls kneeled down beside the tombs of loved ones and gave their heart to Jesus Christ!
Even when we were dead in sins hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved); Eph 2:5 Which simply means he made us alive!
What happened next really blessed our hearts! On the Sunday morning which normally would have been low attendance because of the holiday week, the church was packed with people! We gathered all of our chairs, tables, benches and still had people sitting on the ground around the tabernacle! Praise the Lord!
Why seek ye the living among the dead? Souls, Souls, Souls!
