God is good!!
|
You may have felt abandonment, rejection, oppression, abuse or devastated from the death of a loved one--fear, loneliness, and despair are usually quick to arise. In many ways, a broken heart is a "broken spirit" in which the will to live is lost. The Messiah's main role, the one Jesus embraced wholeheartedly was to heal the broken hearted....Luke 4: 18 'The Spirit of the Lord is upon me because He hath annointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, He hath sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. ..to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.'
When we have a broken heart, we have to choose to believe again, to believe we'll live, experience love again, believe that God has a purpose for us and to believe that God will be with us even in our darkest hours.
Psalm 4: 8I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety. |
