KEEPERS OF HIS TEXT: A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR DICK KENNEY
" THE SPRINKLER SYNDROME...." By Pastor Dick Kenney
Shalomyshua@aol.com
Feb 9, 2005

Good morning to every one of you! Yes, each one! Jo-ann and I love you and we pray daily for G-d's richest blessings to fill your lives...That is what we think of every member of MJCC! This a great church! To many of our beloved members this is their only church..This is a huge responsibility for the leadership of this online church...To attempt to bring the Jewish Messiah to almost a thousand members all over the globe, and join non-Jewish and Jewish believers in the true Messiah of Israel!!! And oh, how it has happened! MJCC is this group and they are literally on fire for Messiah Y'shua....

My message this morning is from the letter to there Hebrews, Chapter 10, verse 24: " Let us keep paying attention to one another, in order to spur each other on to love and good deeds..." That is our mission!

One of the most neglected responsibilities among believers' in Messiah Y'shua today is the responsibility to encourage others...The writer of the letter to the Hebrews says; "spur each other to love and good deeds...." All too often we are sparse with our praise and so fail to spur one another on with the kind of encouragement that others may need to hear from us...

Messiah Y'shua was a wonderful model of encouragement for His followers~~He considered His disciples His most important responsibility on earth. He said; " I am praying for them...and in them I have been glorified." {John 17:9-10}, Y'shua did not see His greatest work on the earth as raising the dead, turning water into wine, multiplying loaves and fishes, or healing the sick... He gloried in His disciples, the same disciples who slept while He prayed.....They were, in a sense, His reward......

I have been home sick with the flu for the past four days and after I have completed my work, my devotions and retired to the living room and sat by our fireplace.....The TV was on......Most all of the news programs that we watch at 10PM, before going to bed, were packed with the Academy Movie Awards~~~~As I watched the gala reports about the stars, and which one would receive the Oscar~~~I thought quietly to myself that often, we admire and heap praise on people who aren't even known to us~~for example, actors and sports heroes....or accomplished athletes being paid mega millions per year~~

After we watched Clint Eastwood, Jamie Fox, Leonardo De Caprio and the other contenders......I thought to myself, why are we so sparing with praise and encouragement for the ones closest to us....? Those we love the most...Jo-ann my best friend in all the world....Who waits on me, prays for me, the mother of my four, my toe to toe partner each day in the ministry, the one who needs my encouragement!!

Have you ever noticed that when you are using a sprinkler to water your grass, that the grass closest to the sprinkler is sometimes brown and dried out more than the grass further away from the sprinkler? So much energy and drive from the sprinkler goes to reach the farthest parts of the yard, that the grass closest to the source of water is left dry~~Isn't that true in our own lives? We need to encourage the ones that are closest to us..Our children, our husbands, our wives as well....

So my word to YOU today and to Me as well is: Be aware of the sprinkler syndrome! Let's be sure to encourage one another, especially those closest to us~~And all the more as we surely see the day of Messiah's return approaching~~

Beginning this very day, I am going to look for ways to encourage others in my life~~~~~May I begin with you? Members of this great church, I want to encourage you to write us with your every need, we are here for YOU! This is YOUR church.......We LOVE YOU!

A CHOSEN PEOPLE" By Pastor Dick Kenney Shalomyshua@aol.com Dec 21, 2004 A chosen people, the King's cohanim, a holy nation, a people for G-d alone....A peculiar people~~~ In the Tanakh these terms are applied to the Jewish people, G-d's "chosen people"....Kefa {Peter} applies them to the Jewish readers of his letter from 1 :Peter and they are firstly, Messianic Jews, Jews that have accepted Y'shua, the true Messiah of Israel and, secondly, Messianic Gentiles, who truly identify with them...That is us! The Messianic Jews Cyberspace Church~~~Jewish and non-Jewish believers, joined as one to worship Messiah Jesus! When Kefa {Peter} said: " You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a peculiar people...." He was speaking to Israel, to Jews~~~Not Gentiles....May I explain this to each of you? Christians are, indeed, a chosen people, priests for the King, a holy "nation" { in a metaphorical sense}, a people set aside for G-d to possess~~~not by way of superceding the Jew's as G-d's people, but by way of being joined to them in faith in the same G-d and in the Jewish Messiah~~A so called " Christian" who opposes or looks down on the Jews as merely G-d's "former" people has missed the point altogether and is probably not a Christian at all~~~ If you want to know what it means to be G-d's chosen people read Acts 13:17. The Bible resolves doubts and questions about election by stating its true purpose: in order for you to declare the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light, namely, G-d. The word "Jew" in Hebrew is " Y'hudi", related to the Hebrew words "hod" {Praise} and " todah" {thanks}~~~Together they make up the word "Y'hudi" meaning "Jew." To be a Jew, then, is to be one who praises and thanks G-d...see Romans 2:28. So you see, the very name of the Jewish people " Y'hudi" reflects G-d's purpose in choosing us! Gentiles who are grafted into the Olive Tree of Israel by accepting the true Messiah, Y'shua, therefore share Israel's spiritual life through her Messiah are "chosen" for the same purpose...Rav Sha'ul {Paul} makes a midrash on these same phrases applying them not to Jews, as does Hosea, but to Gentiles {Romans 9:24}. But here Kefa {Peter}, applies them to his Messianic Jewish and Messianic gentile readers of the Scripture...Again, as at verse 9, there is no implication that the Gentiles or Christians have "replaced" the Jews as G-d's chosen people...... So you see, it gives us a greater appreciation for all of us this morning! To know that we belong to a church without walls! Messiah Y'shua has raised up this wonderful online church that is growing every day..... Jews and Gentiles that are both "Y'hudi! Praisers and thanks givers to the Jewish Messiah! What a wonderful Mishpocah {family} we are at MJCC! The mission of this church, Messianic Jews Cyberspace Church is to restore the name of Y'shua ha' Mashiach {Jesus the Christ} to the nations! Tony Kochanski, our wonderful worship pastor, lead us last Sunday in singing: " Go Tell It On The Mountain...." As I told you in yesterdays message, we must take Jesus with us when we leave our churches! We cannot leave Him there...What a great day it is today to " Go Tell It On The Street, where you live.
