They range from a free website, easy enough to be built by anyone, to our Gold account suitable for message boards, audio, video, and more. I can get a domain cheap. Why should I purchase my domain through OurChurch.Com?...

Actually, OurChurch.Com doesn't sell domains. Instead we include the domain, registration and set-up when you purchase any of the following yearly packages: Starter, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Even if you buy a domain somewhere else, you will still need hosting and you'll still need someone to set it up. You'll also have to remember to renew it each year. And if you purchase a domain separately, your final cost will be higher because we have to charge an additional fee for set-up in that case. If you don't already own a domain, let us register one for you at no additional cost when you order yearly hosting.

I don't like the ads at the top of my website. Is there an ad-free option?

Yes. By default, all websites (in all packages) built with OurChurch.Com’s NE1™ website builder have ads placed on them. The ads make it possible for us to offer free service and reduce the costs of our other packages. With the Ad-Free Site option, all advertisements are removed from your OurChurch.Com website: the big banner at the top, the five small sponsorships below, and the two buttons in the navigation menu. Advertisements distract attention away from your message and the content of your website. You can remove those distractions with the ad-free option. Prices and details can be found here.

What about service?

If you are wary of cheap hosts who skimp on service by not providing phone support or by not replying to email until a week after you send it, you’ll be happy to know OurChurch.Com is affordable but not cheap. We provide support by phone, online help desk, and message boards. Most support requests receive a reply within a few hours when submitted weekdays between 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. EST.

What is included with the Free hosting package?

You can have a website for absolutely nothing. Free websites are built with our NE1™ website builder, so there’s no programming knowledge or special software needed. Free sites are limited to 12 pages and 2 MB of disk space. (NOTE: Uploaded graphics and imported templates do count against the 2 MB of space. Therefore it is wise to limit their use with a Free hosting package.)

What is included with the Gold, Silver, and Bronze packages?

The Gold, Silver, and Bronze packages are more like "traditional" website services where you get an account with a certain amount of disk space and bandwidth and you can put whatever you want into it. You can build your website with Microsoft FrontPage®, Dreamweaver®, or other web authoring software and then transfer it to your account using FTP (file transfer protocol). Gold, Silver, and Bronze packages also include support for streaming audio and video, PHP, mySQL database, and a variety of email features.

What makes the Gold, Silver, and Bronze packages different from other "traditional" hosting packages is that we’ve integrated our NE1™ website builder into them. You have the option of building your website on your own, but if that’s beyond your capabilities you can use NE1™ to build and manage your website. Additionally, with the Silver and Gold accounts, we’ve provided Fantastico, a web administrative tool that installs programs such as forums for you almost instantly.

If you want to design your website yourself, a Gold, Silver, or Bronze account is the way to go. If you want the simplicity of building your website with our NE1™ website builder, but also want forums, email, and audio on your website, the Gold, Silver, or Bronze account is for you as well.

What is included with the Starter hosting package?

With a Starter account, the address for your site becomes accessible at www.your-name.com (.com, .org, or .net available) in addition to www.ourchurch.com/member/u/username/. A domain name is shorter and easier to remember. It is not cAsE-sENsiTiVE like the ourchurch.com address. A domain signifies that your website is important to you and is an important source of information for others. OurChurch.Com is the only company that will register your domain name for free and pay the registration fee for you when you choose the yearly payment option.

Starter websites are created using NE1™, there is no limit to the number of pages you can have in your website, and 200 MB of storage space is available. A Starter account doesn’t cost much more than a Free account and most people find the advantages of a domain name well worth a few extra dollars a year.
