General Info:

The Contact Form module allows visitors to contact you from the website without your needing to put your email address on the site. It is often necessary to obtain information from your website visitors and the contact form module can do this quickly and conveniently. Visitors can fill in the fields that you have provided for them and the data is immediately sent to an email address that you specify.

To configure a contact form, login to your admin section, click the dropdown "Add-on Modules" menu in the top menu of your admin section and choose "Contact Form".

Selecting "Contact Form" will bring up a dialog box which enables you to set all of the necessary parameters for your form.

Check the boxes of the fields you would like to include. (The "Verification Code" field asks the visitor to copy a random set of letters or numbers. This helps insure that the form is filled out legitimately and not by a spammer or automated software.) By default the form information will be sent to the default email address that has been set in the website "Config" section. To send the information to a different address, enter that address in the "E-mail Address" field. Click the "Save changes" button when all information has been entered. A preview of the form can be seen at the bottom of the page.

*Note: Only one email address can be used at one time. Contact form information cannot be sent to multiple addresses.

*Note 2: The Contact Form module is available with all hosting packages, including the free websites.

*Tip: Spam is a big problem these days and one way spammers like to send spam is using software to search the internet looking for forms. The software then fills out the form with the spam message and submits it. Using the "Verification Code" option in the contact form, prevents spam software from being able to submit their spam through your contact form. We highly recommend using the verification code option.

From Facebook: "Over 8 million users become fans of Facebook Pages every day to connect with their favorite public figures and organizations and get updates directly in their streams. Now, users can connect with brands, musicians, celebrities, businesses, and more, whether they're on or off Facebook.

The Fan Box is a Facebook Connect-enabled social widget that Page owners can add to their websites to allow users to fan and view the accompanying Facebook Page stream. With the Fan Box, brands can bring content from their Facebook Page into their website and help convert website visitors into Facebook fans. Users can view the most recent posts from the Page, see a list of other fans (including their friends), and, most importantly, become a fan without leaving the site. Additionally, if a user visits the site and isn't logged in to Facebook, the user can log in and become a fan directly inline as well."

To setup a Fanbox, login to your admin section, click the dropdown "Add-on Modules" menu in the top menu of your admin section and choose "Facebook Fanbox."

You can add the Fanbox module to any page using the "Insert Module" feature when editing a page. OCC recommends that this type of module be inserted in the sidebar for those sites with editable sidebars. With the module in the sidebar, visitors can view it on every page. For more information about how to insert a module, please see the "Modules: Insert a Module" help page.

*Note: The Fanbox module is available with all hosting packages, including the Gold, Silver, Bronze, Starter, and Free packages.

**Also Note: The Facebook module is for use with an organization's Facebook Page not a personal profile.

Basic configuration for the Facebook Fanbox (including Facebook ID and URL) can be found by clicking the "Add-On Modules" tab and choosing "Facebook Fanbox". The basic configuration can be summarized as follows:

General Info:

The "Tell a Friend" module is a simple, but useful module that is automatically a part of each web page on your website. It allows your website visitors to invite their friends to visit your website and send them the URL (web address) of the particular web page.

To configure the "Tell a Friend" feature login to your admin section, click the dropdown "Add-on Modules" menu in the top menu of your admin section and choose "Tell a Friend".

Configuring the "Tell a Friend" module involves setting up options and default messages. Check the box next to the options desired at the top of the page.

Message Preview - This setting allows the sender to preview/edit the message before it is sent.

Comment - This allows the visitor to add their own comment to the message.

Subject Preview - The Subject Preview allows the sender to preview and edit the subject before the message is sent.

Send a copy - This setting allows the visitor to request to have a copy of the message sent to them.

Notice - This allows the webmaster to be notified when the "Tell a Friend" module has been used.

Confirmation Code - The Confirmation Code requires the sender to fill in a random set of letters/numbers before sending the message. (This is meant to stop spammers and automated software.)

The form that is used to "tell a friend" contains a default subject, message, and message footer. While the NE1 Web Builder provides a suitable default subject, message, and footer, you are also able to edit these elements.

Message Tags - The contents of the subject, message, and footer fields include "tags". The tags are used to make the default message more personal. The tags replaced by the information the visitor enters into the form, like the recipients name, your web page's Title and address. For example, the {friend} tag is replaced by the "Friend's name:" field on the form. If you decide to customize the message, it's a good idea to include the tags so the message will be personalized and include the necessary website information.

Click the "Save changes" button to save the edits and settings. Check the "Restore Default Settings" checkbox when the original messages are preferred.

RSS (formally "RDF" and known also as "Really Simple Syndication") is a set of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines or podcasts. An RSS document, which is called a "feed", contains either a summary of content from an associated web site or the full text. RSS makes it possible for people to keep up with your web site in an automated manner that's easier than checking it manually.

RSS content can be read using software called an RSS reader. The user subscribes to a feed by entering the feed's link into the reader or by clicking an RSS icon in a browser that initiates the subscription process. The reader checks the user's subscribed feeds regularly for new content, downloading any updates that it finds. Internet Explorer users view feeds on the Feeds tab in the Favorites Center. To view your feeds, click the Favorites Center button, and then click Feeds. Internet Explorer also provides the Common Feed List to other programs. This allows you to subscribe to feeds with Internet Explorer and read them in other programs, such as e-mail clients.

Like a newsletter, the RSS feature is a great way to keep in contact with visitors, keep them up-to-date, and get them to return to your website. If you use the News or Blog modules, encourage visitors to use the RSS feature.

Within the NE1 web builder, the RSS module can be configured using the "Add-On Modules" tab at the top of the webmaster page. By clicking the "Add New RSS Chanel" button, you are free to add as many RSS feeds as you like. The feeds can then be inserted on any page in the same manner as any module is inserted.

General Info:

The vote poll allows you to ask your visitors their opinion on any topic. This is a useful feature for sparking the interest of your visitors and keeping them coming back as well as getting their feedback.

To configure a poll, click login to your admin section, click the dropdown "Add-on Modules" menu in the top menu of your admin section and choose "Vote Poll".

Selecting "Vote Poll" will bring up a dialog box which enables you to set all of the necessary parameters for your poll, including questions and possible answers.

Insert your question into the "Question:" box.

Backgound Color: Click the color palette to the right and select a color to add a background color to the entire poll module. When you click on a color in the color palette some numbers and letters will appear in the Background Color field. These numbers and letters are html code which corresponds with the color you have chosen. To remove the background color, select in the Background Color field and delete the numbers and letters.

Border: If you would like to have a border around the poll module, click the drop-down menu and "yes". Select "no" to remove the border.

Font: Click in the "Font" drop-down menu to select the font you would like for the text of the poll module.

Font Size: Click in the "Font Size" drop-down menu to select the size of the text in the poll module.

Question Background Color: The question background color allows you to have a different background color for your question then for the rest of the answers. Click the color palette to the right and select the color you want. When you click on a color in the color palette some numbers and letters will appear in the Question Background Color field. These numbers and letters are html code which corresponds with the color you have chosen. To remove the question background color, select in the Question Background Color field and delete the numbers and letters.

Question Font Color: This allows you to set a different font color for your Question then the rest of the news text. Click the color palette to the right and select the color you want.

Click the "Save Changes" button when you are finished with the layout.

Once a poll has been setup, it can be inserted into any page. You can add the Vote Poll module to any page using the "Insert Module" feature when editing a page. For more information about how to insert a module, please see the "Modules: Insert a Module" (link) help page. You can insert the poll onto as many pages as you like; however, only 1 poll can be on a website at a time.

Once a poll is displayed on your website, visitors will be able to start responding. After submitting a response, the visitor will be shown the results of the poll. The vote poll module is designed to remember visitors and prevent them from submitting multiple votes. The visitor will not be able to submit another response from that computer unless they clear the web browsers cache.
