Meta Charset:![]() The charset tag is necessary for a couple of important reasons. First, it validates your web page for search engines. Secondly, it's important because, if a web browser can't detect the character encoding used in a document, visitors may end up with an unreadable page. By default the meta charset is set to (Western European ISO), the most widely used character set. However, if you are using a language on your website with characters that do not appear in the Western European languages, you will need to select a different setting which includes that language's characters.
