Six Day Creation

This month’s website spotlight features Charlie Liebert and his website about Creation, Dinosaurs and the Flood. Charlie has put together many interesting videos and answers to some of the most controversial questions about the conflict of science and the Bible when it comes to creation and other biblical events.

Charlie hired OurChurch.Com to create a Custom CMS website because he was interested in working with a site that had an advanced shopping cart and could handle a large volume of media (audio & video). His site features a custom Flash header, content rotator, image rotator, shopping cart and support for several formats of streaming video and audio.

Be sure to check out his site and feel free to ask him a question. Chances are he’ll have an answer for you!

Simple, Beautiful, Remarkable in 2011

Hello OurChurch.Com Webmaster,

It's a brand new year, full of possibilities. So, why not take a new tact with your communication strategy this year?

Life is full of the complicated, cluttered, and ordinary. Most organizations struggle to be heard over the noise because they're doing the same thing everyone else is doing and adding to the clutter and the noise.

That's why we're trumpeting a new communication strategy: Simple, Beautiful, Remarkable

In addition to blogging about Simple, Beautiful, Remarkable, we've redesigned our website to be simple, beautiful, remarkable. We've introduced new simple, beautiful, remarkable website service bundles and slashed an additional $50 off of each. And today we launched a more simple, beautiful, remarkable help desk.

Read about all that and more in this month's newsletter.

In His Service,
Paul Steinbrueck, CEO

Now, we’ve added our Template Personalization Service to our website service bundles to ensure your site looks beautiful and is personalized with your organization name, logo, etc. And this month only we’re taking an extra $50 off every bundle, saving you a grand total of $158 – $286 depending on the bundle you select. Upgrade here!

2) NEW HELP DESK, KNOWLEDGE BASE, & MYOCC
This morning we launch a brand new help desk and knowledge base. The two are integrated, so that if you go to help desk and begin to create a new help desk ticket it will search the knowledge base and suggest articles that may answer your question.

The help desk is also integrated into the redesigned MyOCC. Go to any page on OurChurch.Com, click the login button at the top of the top of the page, and after logging in, click the MyOCC button. On your MyOCC dashboard, scroll down to the "Your Account" section and you'll see a tab for "support tickets."

Tomorrow we'll have a blog post and quick tips video explaining some of the new features available in the help desk/knowledge base. We'd appreciate your feedback on the help desk, knowledge base, and MyOCC as well.

Less Clutter, Less Noise: 4) Myth: It Worked Before so It Will Work Again

“Every organization has to face a changing culture, and your audience is changing faster than you are.”

Here is the thing, people resist change. A recent example, Facebook changing the look to profile pages. I received a request to check out the new format and was given the opportunity to join the change. I accepted and moved on about my day. I have been using this social networking system long enough to know that change it was a coming. Well it seemed that many of my friends did not relegate that change was happening whether they chose to join this movement or chose to ignore it. Oh, the mighty outcry the day change prevailed. However, none of them quit using the system they just wanted to be heard, that they did not like it.  More...

4) BEACON - 11 DAYS LEFT TO LIVE
Three years ago this month we launched our NE1 Web Builder, making the original Beacon web builder obsolete. January 31, Beacon will shut down for good. All free Beacon sites will be canceled and all Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Starter package accounts with Beacon will be migrated to NE1.

If you are still using Beacon, it's in your best interest to migration to NE1 immediately so you can tweak the NE1 version before it goes live. For instructions and held with migrating from Beacon to NE1, see the full announcement.

5) FUNNY VIDEO: HOW TO SPEAK CHRISTIANESE
One important aspect of simple, beautiful, remarkable communication is speaking in terms your audience understands. That may sound obvious, but a lot of Christians slip into this dialect on a regular basis.
