Grace Lutheran Church and School are located in La Plata, MD, about 25 miles south of Washington, DC. During the summer they contacted us about creating a custom website that would serve both the church and school. We created an animated Flash header and set it up so the color would change depending on which section of the site the visitor was in. The new site was launched last week. Because Grace went with the Custom Pro package with includes both a custom website and SEO services, we are now optimizing the site so it appears at the top of the search results when people search Google for a church or school in La Plata.

Twitter recently added a new feature called lists. Any Twitter user can create lists, which are essentially groups of the people they follow. We have created a Twitter list for OCC clients. This helps you find other OCC members who are on Twitter. It also allows you to follow all OCC members with just one click - by following the list. If you're on Twitter but not on our OCC Clients Twitter list yet, let us know so we can add you.
Last week I wrote about the growing trend of hosting virtual conferences in 3D virtual worlds like Second Life. If you didn’t see it, check out the demo video of virtual conference embedded in that post. It’s way cool.
Ultimately, I think whether virtual conferences go mainstream will depend on whether virtual worlds go mainstream. Some people like Neal Locke, who sparked this conversation believe that in the next 10-20 years the entire web will go from the 2D space it is now to 3D and eventually everything online will be experienced as a 3D space.
That seems at least plausible. After all 20 years ago nobody was on the web, and now just about every organization views a website as essential.
But in order for the web to transition from 2D to 3D, I think at least 4 things will need to happen.
