Want to Test the New Web Builder?
Hello OurChurch.Com webmasters,
It looks like fall is finally upon us. It's a time of change as leaves turn colors, birds migrate, and temperatures drop (unless you live in Florida as we do in which case it's still almost 90). Speaking of change, there have been a few changes and some coming changes in OurChurch.Com's services that we want to bring you up to speed on, so have a quick read of this month's newsletter.
Please post comments and questions concerning this newsletter in our forums. You can also view this message on the web with color and graphics in our newsletter archives.

4) Inside Look at Church Website Development
1) UPGRADE SPECIAL
During the month of October, upgrade to a better web hosting package than you currently have and get a second year of web hosting at half price. If you currently have a free site, upgrade to any premium hosting package - the Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, or Domain Package and get a second year for half price. If you've been thinking about taking your site to the next level, here's your chance to do it and save money in the process. To upgrade, login to your Webmaster Page and click the "Order & Renew Premium Options" link.
2) WANT TO TEST THE NEW WEB BUILDER?
Development of OurChurch.Com's next generation web builder is nearing is completion. Within the next few weeks we're going to be giving a limited number of OCC members a chance to beta test the new web builder. This is a very important job. Not only will beta testers help to find any bugs, but they will also have the opportunity to help shape what the new web builder can do and how it does it.
As a beta tester you would create a test site with access to all functionality including all templates, the advanced editor, blog, newsletter, shopping cart, image editor, and more. Then put it through its paces and send us feedback as to what you liked, what you didn't like, how we can make it easier to understand and use, and what additional options you'd like added before we make it available publicly.
To volunteer to be a beta tester, create a ticket in our help desk with the subject "Beta Test" or reply to this newsletter with "Beta Test" in the email subject. There will only be a limited number of beta testers, so respond quickly if you'd like to take part.
3) BANDWIDTH LIMITS
Bandwidth is the amount of total data transferred to and from a web hosting account each month. Every OCC web hosting package includes a generous amount of bandwidth, and for 99.9% of our members bandwidth is not an issue. However, if you have a Gold, Silver, or Bronze account and a lot of visitors it is possible to exceed the bandwidth allotment for your account. Up until now we have not been enforcing bandwidth limits, but we will beginning in November.
You can check how much bandwidth you've used in the current month by logging into your cPanel control panel. Emails will automatically be sent when you're getting close to your bandwidth allotment in order to warn you and give you time to upgrade to a hosting package that includes more bandwidth. We'll also be contacting the handful of members who are on pace to exceed their bandwidth this month.
Again, this only impacts a handful of Gold, Silver, and Bronze account members, but if you are one of them this would be a good time to take advantage of the upgrade special.
4) INSIDE LOOK AT CHURCH WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT
Paul Steinbrueck, OCC's CEO, continues his series of blog articles giving you an inside look at his experience leading his church's effort to have their website redesigned by OurChurch.Com. Paul has asked the OCC staff to treat him like any other client. Join us as Paul shares accounts of his interactions with our staff, design decisions, working with the church staff and boards, and getting the congregation to embrace the new site.
