PASTOR EDWARD & PEARL LEWIN
WELCOME to the Westside Church of God 7th Day in Oklahoma City. We have services every SATURDAY.

The Sabbath......
The seventh-day Sabbath is God’s gift to humanity from creation, was written into the Ten Commandments by God’s finger, kept and taught by Jesus, and observed by the apostolic church. A memorial of both creation and redemption, the Sabbath should be faithfully celebrated by believers now as a day of rest, worship, and well-doing.
The fourth commandment teaches us to observe the seventh day (Saturday) of each week as the Sabbath. God set the Sabbath apart in the beginning as a memorial of creation, and it was observed by Jesus and the apostles. It is kept from Friday sunset until Saturday sunset by ceasing from secular work, engaging in corporate worship, cultivating the godly life, and doing good for others. Sabbath rest mirrors both Creation and redemption, and will be celebrated until God's people rest forever with Him.

We are a Christ-centered, Bible-based, Sabbath-keeping, commandment-keeping, group of people who believe that...

**the Bible is the dependable, authoritative, inspired Word of God. No other writing is of such divine origin or is necessary for Christian faith and practice.
(II Tim. 3:16,17; II Pet. 1:20,21)

**God the Father is the almighty Creator and loving Provider, eternal King and Judge of the universe.
(Gen: 1:1; Acts 17:24,25,30,31)

**Jesus Christ, the pre-existent Son of God, is the Savior, Lord, and eternal Redeemer of all who truly believe.
(John 1:1-3,18; 3:16; 17:5; Matt. 1:21; 12:40; Luke 1:26-35; Phil. 2:5-11; I Tim. 2:5;)

**the Holy Spirit is the presence of God in believers - convicting, converting, teaching truth, prompting obedience, bearing fruit, distributing gifts, and empowering witness.
(John 14:16-18, 26; 15:26; 16:5-14; 3:5; Acts 1:5,8,; I Cor. 12:3-11,13; Acts 5:32)

################## THE CHURCH ###################

The church is for you,
The church is for me.
It's there you'll find solace,
A place where you'll be
Close to God in your troubles,
Away from the strife
Of everyday living,
The worries of life.

In church there is quiet,
In church there is peace
While hearing God's Word
You'll find a release
From feelings of guilt,
Fear, anger, and shame.
Just ask God's forgiveness
And believe on His name.

In church there is hope,
You can get a new start
When you come in and worship
And become a part
Of those who are there
In search of the way
To live life more fully
All the time - day by day.

The church is for you,
The church is for me.
It's there you'll find guidance
For life's stormy sea.
You'll find God is waiting
At each church in the land,
Just come in to find Him
And give Him your hand.

*********** A PRECIOUS PRICELESS PRIZE **********

How can we ever thank You
For dying in our place!
You suffered pain and anguish--
The ultimate disgrace.

You opened not Your mouth to cry,
Despite the stress and strain,
You bore our sins and all their weight,
Yet never did complain.

They tortured You and beat You,
Placed thorns upon Your head,
Drove nails into Your hands and feet
And mocked You as You bled.

But little did they know, O Lord,
That soon You would arise
And free us from the sting of death,
A precious, priceless prize.

~~~~VERSE OF THE DAY~~~~ ********************************** THE WORDS OF CHRIST SPOKEN TO NICODEMUS IN John 3:13-21.... "No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God." ********************************** JESUS IS OUR ULTIMATE EXAMPLE... working not for selfish gain, but for heaven's glory; putting not one's own desires first, but the needs of others; profiting not from money, but from God's blessing. "The Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many." Matthew 20:28 ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Jesus said to him, "I am the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE; no one comes to the FATHER except through ME". John 14:6
