Kids, grades, and a whole lot of patience in a small classroom with lots of students, is where I want to be in the future. I want to teach the 2nd through 4th grade students, the necessary fundamentals and find different, creative ways for the students to learn them. Subjects like math, English, science, and social studies (M.E.S.S.) will be taught in a way that makes school fun. I want them to understand that school isn’t just a bunch of  “mess”. I want kids to learn that no matter what they go through, education is very important, and they can always get one. Through careful instruction, letting them know that your past doesn’t have to dictate who you are or where you are going. I believe that by high-quality guiding and communication, I can make a difference to kids who are shy, mute, class clowns, and ones who try to sit in the back of the class and not say anything. I know that I will be able to reach kids who are picked on, and the bullies that pick on them. Through coaching them about poetry, expressing feelings in the right way, helping others, and working together, I believe that I can truly reduce the number of confrontations between the students that I teach. The students will learn the value of the famous saying, “the pen is mightier than the sword”.

Were you ever misdiagnosed, placed in a mental institution, and then emancipated on the streets because you were not loved, needed, or were considered trash? Well, that’s me, the child nobody wanted, and now legally an orphan. I was institutionalized for five years by social services. Why? I, to them, was marked as jailbait, emotionally messed up, and too depressed to live in the real world. I was not “normal” enough to have a family adopt me. So, to get rid of me, they threw me into an institution. I was put on the streets in about March or April of 2001, and had my daughter in October of that same year because I was trying to survive. They say that whatever does not kill you, makes you stronger. I am a huge witness of that. Still facing the repercussions of someone else’s neglect, I, like the boy in the famous book, “A Child Called It”, am a survivor. As I am healing slowly from the wounds of the past, going to school full-time, and raising a beautiful three-year-old little girl, I try to remember that I would never want my daughter to go through the same hurts as I have. Even though no one loved me, I want my daughter to grow up knowing that HER mommy does care and wants her to succeed. I want her to realize that I am only living, healing, and growing stronger because of my daddy, God. He was the only one who raised me up and brought me through my wilderness. Romans 8:28 says “...and we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose”. I believe that I have been called to help other children who have been where I was. Where I have come from has helped me to get closer to where I need to be. I give glory and honor to God, who has carried me through my past. Thank you, Daddy!

I guess for me it is so hard to decide or zero in on a certain age group for this ministry because I am overly empathetic. I can literally put myself in someone else’s shoes and feel what they feel. I want to reach children of all ages who may have gone through things just like I have. If you have never seen the movie “Antwone Fisher” starring Denzel Wasington, then I encourage you to see it if you have time. He is a person who went through some of the same things that I did, and part of his life is now a movie. It touches, caresses, embraces, and excels you to do better while yet making tears run down the side of your face. No one cares about me, that is certain, but yet there is a God who watches and sees my pain. Seeing movies like that make you think, “If he can do it, then I can too”. So many people commit suicide each year…those are the people that I am trying to reach. Those are the ones that no one cares about even though some may say, “yes we do” that I want to show a different light. I hope this helps you get to know a little about me. So, what age is my ministry for? Maybe it would help you if I just give you the categories: people who have tried or succeeded in suicide, orphans worldwide, and abused children/adults. Yes, I want to make a change in this world for the better.
