The Roman Road to Salvation
|
The ROMANS ROAD....is a pathway you can walk. It is a group of Bible verses from the book of Romans in the New Testament. If you walk down this road you will end up understanding how to be saved. Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." We all have sin in our hearts. We all were born with sin. We were born under the power of sin's control. - Admit that you are a sinner.
Romans 6:23a "...The wages of sin is death..." Sin has an ending. It results in death. We all face physical death, which is a result of sin. But a worse death is spiritual death that alienates us from God, and will last for all eternity. The Bible teaches that there is a place called the Lake of Fire where lost people will be in torment forever. It is the place where people who are spiritually dead will remain. - Understand that you deserve death for your sin.
Romans 6:23b "...But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Salvation is a free gift from God to you! You can't earn this gift, but you must reach out and receive it. - Ask God to forgive you and save you.
Romans 5:8, "God demonstrates His own love for us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us!" When Jesus died on the cross He paid sin's penalty. He paid the price for all sin, and when He took all the sins of the world on Himself on the cross, He bought us out of slavery to sin and death! The only condition is that we believe in Him and what He has done for us, understanding that we are now joined with Him, and that He is our life. He did all this because He loved us and gave Himself for us! - Give your life to God... His love poured out in Jesus on the cross is your only hope to have forgiveness and change. His love bought you out of being a slave to sin. His love is what saves you -- not religion, or church membership. God loves you!
Romans 10:13 "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved!" - Call out to God in the name of Jesus!
Romans 10:9,10 "...If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation." - If you know that God is knocking on your heart's door, ask Him to come into your heart.
Jesus said, Revelation 3:20a "Behold I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him..." - Is Jesus knocking on your heart's door?
Believe in Him. Ask Him to come in to your heart by faith, and ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Open the Bible to the Gospel of John and read what God says about Jesus, about you, and about being born again.
God will help you. He loves you.
You need to look for a local church where God's word is preached. The Bible says that we are to desire God's word like a newborn baby desires mother's milk. Aren't you hungry to know the truth?
Water baptism is one of the ways you first show that you have been joined to Jesus. This is an action, and actions will not save you. However, it is an act of obedience and a symbol of commitment. The symbolism is this: When you go down in the water you show that You have been crucified and buried with Him,
And when you come up out of the water you show that you have been raised to walk with Him in newness of life. (See Romans chapter 6)
You have been born again. (See John chapter 3)
Your body has become God's temple. Your heart is where He lives.
Forgiveness is yours in Jesus. And you belong to Him.
You were sin's slave. But now...
You are a child of GOD!
John 1:12 "As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name!" |

Let Us Enter In
Through the Strait Gate
God has one frequency of communication. That frequency is called holy. In order to be able to tune into this frequency we must come to Him. 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness". He has already come to us via His Son Jesus to show us the way to the Father. Basically the way to the Father and to hear Him for His good pleasure is outlined in the Lord’s Prayer.
Matthew 6:9-15
9 After this manner therefore pray ye:.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
1st Praise and Worship with identification to the covenant that he has established through the free gift for the atonement of our sins by the blood of the Lamb of God, Christ Jesus our Lord, and the adoption into the family of God upon our acceptance and confession.
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name
2nd Seeking the Father’s will
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven
3rd By the revelation from the Father Christ told Peter that this is how Jesus was going to build His Church. This revelation is our Spiritual Daily Bread.
Give us this day our daily bread.
4th Repentance having clean hands and a pure heart.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.And lead us not
into temptation, but deliver us from evil
5th Exiting from this moment of totally in His presence, carrying the anointing of the revelation to say or do the will of the Father. Establishing His kingdom here in the earth we give Him the glory and the honor that it is not by any means of who we are but rather who God the Father is. This is the revival of the church and the generation to which we live. This is also the ultimate worship to bring a praise of His Glory in others.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
Psalms 24 will also give you great insight to this path or highway of Holiness.
Glory be! Where is the Unicorn? and Imagine That From the book God Loves a Good BBQ
By Robert E Hale

The Mystery of the Unicorn

Glory be, where is the Unicorn?
One might think that I put a chapter in from another book. What do Unicorns have to do with God's barbeque? Unicorn is from Latin a combination word of "unus" translated as "one" and "cornu" as "horn". Unicorns are mentioned nine times the Holy Scriptures. The Strong's Exhaustive Concordance translates this word as a wild bull, from its conspicuousness; attracting attention through being unusual or remarkable, easily or clearly visible. Clearly visible! So where is the Unicorn?
When God had me to discover this truth He had me to study on the word Glory. I started in Genesis the first time the word glory is mentioned is Genesis 31:1, "And he heard the words of Laban's sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father's; and of that which was our father's hath he gotten all this glory". Glory is translated as weight; but only figurative in a good sense, splendor or copiousness: glorious honor.
What does this wild creature that is clearly visible attracting attention, the Unicorn; have to do with the glory God bestows upon man?
Jacob had come from rags to riches for the sake of the Kingdom of God and His purpose on earth. It took an encounter with God, acquiring integrity in the presence of the Holy One, with perseverance over time and God brought Him to His destiny. Out of this glory of abundance that God supernaturally supplied into Jacob and his family came one of the greatest barbeque events of all time.
A short list of the ingredients is in Deuteronomy 32:9-14.
Moses writes in Deuteronomy. 32:2
"My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:" Judge for yourselves; is this a precept of the rain and the later rain?
Did you think that maybe this great event is where Psalms 23 comes from?
...Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever
God is showing us that even as the enemy forces trembled with fear as Jacob and his family ascended to Bethel (God's House) to feast and celebrate God's goodness in his day, so they also did in David's day and so it will in our day!
Is this not what Isaiah 58:8-14 is declaring when God says that He will cause us to ride the high places and feed us with the heritage of Jacob? That he will be our "re-reward" a term declaring to us that He has our back; our protection from rear attacks. Does not this declare the Kingdom of God is where His proclamations are adhered to and the King backs them up with His army of heavenly hosts? Can you see the importance now of God's great barbeque events? The release of the rights of the poor and the rights of the ministry, turning the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to the fathers; this brings the glory of God! His glory because of His goodness, the congregation starts to voice and praising God's event giving Hallelujahs, releasing the rivers of water that are welled up in their bellies, for every river has a mouth.
The atmosphere changes, for God's presence appears, inhabiting the praise of His people. As the rivers begin to overflow and to flood the plains, and His throne is upon the Flood (Psalms 29). Clouds of glorious praise form! And the rain is carried to where it is needed, hallelujah!
The Church is the Unicorns, those wild bulls of sacrifice. The sacrifice of praise: but also of fellowship in unity, in the unity of the corn (feast) Uni or unity with corn. I like especially the Latin translation mention in the beginning of this chapter meaning one horn when one looks at Psalm 92:10, "But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil." One horn of unity, the unity of praise and worship And Psalms 133:1-3,
1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
And Psalms 24:1-10,
1 The earth is the Lord'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. 2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. 3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in his holy place? 4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. 5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. 6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah. 7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. 9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah
The Glory starts in the Secret Place!
Psalms 19:1-14
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.
14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
The Glory starts in the Secret Place! Each of us has a little boy or a little girl with-in. This little one is drawn before the awesomeness of God's Glory in the midst of His creation, beholding the very handy work of God. Picture this: a child walking into the meadow of the forest seeking the one calling to their soul. Suddenly, fear grips, as the shadow appears dark and deep of some far distance cloud accented by the cluster of trees. Then like the voice of God that speaks to us in times of despair, the wind picks up, gracefully parting the branches allowing the sun to shine through: giving surety for the path to walk. The Deep calleth unto the deep, like a magnetic force draws to another giving purpose in the design shaping the destiny of the divine Creator. This is the goal of this ministry to help others know that they are fearfully and wonderfully made for the Glory of God being apart of this great creation purposed in His LOVE.
Ephesians 2:18-22
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
Job 38:6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
1 Peter 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
From this corner stone of faith, believing on the Christ by revelation from the Father God, Jesus declares that this is how he is going to build His church that even the gates of hell themselves will not be able to prevail. In this revelational faith holds the keys to the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 16:16-19
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Matthew 6:9-15
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
The kingdom of God is His. It is Christ as King. Christ is the anointing, His will being manifested here in the earth even as it is manifested in heaven. This is heaven here on earth. We enter into that secret place individually with God and find His will for us to manifest by speaking or acting out what He has quicken us to do, then when we come out from this private place of His presence we go when, where, and how He wants us to go with the blessing of the King of kings for His kingdom here in the earth.
Jesus showed us this example as He would still away with the Father and proceed from that mountain top experience to descend often to the local synagogue with the Holy Spirit living in Him and the presence of God on Him from that time alone spent in His presence and the commissioning of God on His life for others as a blessing from the Father that they might believe and learn to trust in God, glorifying Father God.
When we in turn follow this example of stilling-away and getting the inspired word, song, poem, sermon, action, or leading of the Lord and proceed from that place of Glory, the Christ dispatching us individually when, where, and how then we have a spiritual picture of just how the Temple of God was built that Solomon was commissioned to preside over. Remember neither a hammer nor a chisel was heard in the construction site, therefore each individual craftsman had their part being small or large had to hear from God for themselves on just how to make their part down to the smallest detail. Then they also had to know when, where, and how to bring that part building the temple of God together, all under the guidance and inspiration of God. This is how God is going to build His temple again, the temple of His body when each of us will find out from God what he wants, when, where, and how. This is the model discussed by the Holy Spirit in Paul’s epistle to the Ephesians.
Ephesians 4:1-16
1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
What God has given me to do is to write this work. We find that the truths of tithes and offerings that have been discussed in this volume is a metaphor. A showing of how God wants to bless the people of the generation that we are apart of. Each of us bringing to a common table of communing God’s goodness to the places where we live, inviting the world at large to taste of the Goodness of God but also to experience God’s love. As we each come together with the part God would have us each to supply, discerning the body, moved by His Spirit to lay that part as the Lord gives the release to do so by the love of God. Then others who do not know God but are of the lost sheep of His pasture will hear the master’s voice and come into the fold rejoicing accepting the goodness of God for their life.
We find that the five fold ministry roles are five goals that the Holy Ghost wants to bring the body of Christ into maturity with. Let us begin with the corner stone and the foundation. First the corner stone is Christ Jesus our Lord. If you have not yet been converted and received the free gift of the Lamb of God which takes away the sins of this world by the shedding of His innocent blood and His life being spent and spilt for you individually then you have not yet begun to build. This relationship of being birthed into the kingdom is a must and it is the only corner stone given by God from which this temple of God can be built, no other will do!
God has indicated that are the three sides to measure from on the corner stone. Once this corner stone is set in your life then one must measure and plummet from its three sides in order to have balance and a good firm level foundation. The three sides that we must have in balance are the three sides of the relationships that God primary wants to have with us. The relationship of the Father, the relationship of the Son, and the relationship of the Holy Ghost, getting any one side to the extreme will throw the whole foundation off. There is a balance to maintain in reverence to each. Remember it is the revelation from the Father through the Holy Spirit unto the Son of which we have been adopted into the family of God and been made partakers of His glory.
The foundation is reveled in the root of the roles of the apostles and prophets. The word apostle comes from to Greek words Apo = away and Stello = to still or in English one would say to still-away for a foundation to the word. The word apostle also is translated as to be commissioned or sent away. The word prophet is translated as a foreteller, by analogy an inspired speaker which also is a combination of two words Pro = “fore”, i.e. in front of, prior and Phemi = to show or make known (one's thoughts, i.e. speak or say, affirm.) Therefore we see a clear foundation is our individual relationship with God as we still-away and find out what inspired word or action that the Father would have us individually to say or do, each of us having our part, bringing confirmation to the body as to the move of Holy Spirit.
This foundation of faith will help to build the body of Christ into maturity as we come together, for they will build together each supplying their part that will in turn communicate protection and nurturing like a Pastor from the Father to the fold imparting like a teacher the love of God. Christ is the Head of the Church and the body becomes alive through His Spirit creating the Good News and declaring among the body. This good new then in turn travels through out the area of what God is doing. In doing so Jesus is now the only head of the Church by His Holy Spirit as our example and as our only access to the Father with His Spirit orchestrating. From this model Christ may empower anyone of us to conduct the individual instruments of body to sound their notes of harmony creating an eternal melody in the ears of our Lord.
2 Corinthians 1:24
24 Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.

Imagine That:
When we were young and had not much in regard to material things, our imagination was one of the greatest gifts we possessed and still are.
From doctors to lawyers, from lawmen to bad men and the lists goes on: Such imagination carries itself into careers of being role play actors and writers where together they can take us back to our childhood days and other worlds.
The problem with imagination is that the word of God denotes that mankind's imagination is continually evil.
Genesis 6:5-6,
5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
Notice it comes from out of the heart or center of ones spirit.
Yet this is one of the greatest traits of us being created in God's image. Do you see the irony? We are made in His image from His imagination; Elohiym-God the Creator, the creator is still canvassing His work in you and me and in the generations of the lives of humans. Yet Christ's proclaims our concern for thought is but for today and the evil thereof (Matt 6:34).
There is an event in the Holy Bible that brings some light to the greatness of Unity in the congregation, which will bring God into the very company of mankind.
The story comes from Genesis 11:1-6:
1 And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. 3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. 4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. 5 And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. 6 And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
Two great things are reveled here: first: that Unity brings God on the scene, and second: nothing is held back from what we imagined to do. In Genesis, God broke up this power of Unity by scattering the children of men because their imagination was not God's but their own.
Now how much more will God's blessing come upon us as we come into the Unity of Imagination with God's vision? Will anything be held back? I quote again "nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do", does nothing mean nothing! Yes! For The Lord has declared it.
Ezekiel was caught up into the heavens. The wheel within the wheel empowered by the four creatures started carrying his spirit up into the heavens before the throne room of God.
Does not the praise of worship of God enter us into the presence of His Holy Spirit that is within us? God's word states that He inhabits the praises of Israel, His spiritual children, so that when we come into unity letting go and letting God together a supernatural reaction happens. A bigger reaction than any other process know to man, a reaction to the Holy Ghost within us individually of worshiping God with our whole being. By the name and blood of Christ that causes our spirit-self to ascend with the help of our personal angelic forces that surround us and that gather to worshiper's aid. Maybe as we draw from the wells of salvation of that indwelling Holy Spirit and allow that Spiritual drink to rise up into our emotions and mind returning the Glory of the vision and voice within; by declaring with our breath the good things of God, we find that circle within the circle. This brings a reaction in the heavens causing these angels ascending and descending upon the name of Jesus Christ to carry our spirit beings into the very throne room of the Most High God. A circle of praise within displayed without joined together with Holy angelic forces of praise. Did you know that there are angels that in-circle the throne of God day and night declaring His virtues and attributes (Isaiah 6, Ezekiel 1, and Revelation 4? Thy Kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven...Selah. Now in Psalms 29 God's throne sits upon the flood, the vapor and mist of praise goes up the clouds form, thunder and lightning are the energy produced, the rain is poured out and the flood is created. The very authority of God Almighty is on the scene and we are granted to sit with Him in His throne (Revelation 3:14-22, Revelation 3:20- the barbeque), and the people of our generation receive their much needed deliverance. Collective electrified energy coming together declaring, "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, and the whole earth is full of His Glory".
If each that brings to the body what God has deposited in their spirit. Flowing together with one purpose, stimulating one common language or speech we then find the Unity of the body ( or the body coming together, Ezekiel 37:1-14) where God commands a blessing (Psalms 133). Coming from God's Holy Spirit confirmed by His Holy Word, how much more will God show up bringing blessings as His Kingdom's will being done on the earth.
John 5:19, "Then answered Jesus and said unto them, 'Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise'".
John 8:28, "Then said Jesus unto them, 'When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things'".
Christ stated Mark 9:23, "Jesus said unto him, 'if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth'".
Interesting to me is that a common phrase of pretending, when we were a child, was to "make believe" using our imagination. The word "believe" in the New Testament is translated as to give credit or to entrust. To entrust Christ with our life in unity of the body of the assembly is to empower His Holy Spirit to work freely among us, and beyond the four walls of a building.
It is the very essence of revival! As we come into the precepts and principles of His confirmed Holy Word like the people did at Babel. Not under the guide of vanity but under the cloud of witnesses raining His Spirit's will in Unity, creating a flood of glory and peace!
This is an aspect of what the Holy Spirit recorded threw the apostle Paul as he penned "each supplying their part".
In Ephesians 4:1-4, he pleads for unity of the Spirit:
1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, 2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling.
Continuing in Ephesians 4:13-16:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
I understand that Christ is taking of conversion in this verse of Matthew 18:3, "And said, 'Verily I say unto you, except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven'". But maybe our ability of "make believing" or "catching the vision" in unity of Christ is the door of the Kingdom by the Holy Spirit"?
Jesus is the door. Again a vision not generated out of self but rather one than comes to the body as they worship and praise together before God and His Holy Spirit imparting to the body the total vision and word each supplying their part.
Faith comes by hearing, hearing that of the Word of God, revelation given from God, for God's purpose, intent, and will.
Jesus told Peter in Matthew 16:15-19:
15 He saith unto them, 'But whom say ye that I am'? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, 'Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God'. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, 'Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Revealed Faith has the Power of God upon it when it results in action. Can you imagine a congregation getting so caught up in the Holy Spirit declaring the Faith God has revealed to them?
In July 2008 on the telephone conference ministry there were several of us flowing together when suddenly a voice that sounded as if it were under running water delivered this word,
My heart is steadfast, Oh God! My heart is steadfast. I will see and make know of it. I will take thee Oh Lord among new vision. I will see you among, for great is your Love, Vision to the heavens. His faithfulness reaches this passage. Be awesome Oh God! For it is the Lord who heals us: all the earth.
I have no doubt that this was the Angel of the Lord. The Conference was recorded.
With in a week many that were on the conference broke the Unity and went different ways, yet people were getting touched and healed. Of those that have remained still God moves, touches and heals blesses and encourages. Maybe one day the ones that broke the Unity and decided that they could not work out the differences will realize that the Unity of the Spirit and His Love is worth more than things that divide. Even as those of the first church laid down their differences for the cause of Christ. If God broke up the Unity of wicked imaginations, I can certainly believe that Satan would come against the Saint's Unity. Things that divide move apart, things that multiply build up. Add to vs. take away, simple...right?
Read John 15:1-17 for a contextual reference to these teachings, and be blessed by the most High God! To God is the Glory, Amen!

What is a Bishop?
(ruff draft version)
Is a “bishop”? Is he a Pastor, a deacon, an apostle, prophetic inspired speaker or preacher, a teacher, an elder or an evangelist? Or is a bishop a classification of the Holy Ghost all of its own?
I will attempt to give you what the scripture indicates both by word and context. The first two of the four times this word is mentioned is in:
1 Tim. 3:1-2
This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. [2] A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
Here the word bishop is used twice but each of these or two different Greek words related to each other but with out each other then we would be at a loss as to this investigative study of the word of God. “The office of a bishop” this Greek word is episkope, ep-is-kop-ay'; meaning an office or officer that conducts inspections (for relief); by implication superintendence; specially the Christian “episcopate”, visitation. This definition alone one would assume that the office is not the Pastor or pastors of the flock but one that comes from time to time with superintendence to inspect and report back to the Senior Shepherd of the herd. Episkope is from the Greek word episkeptomai. The second time the word is the Greek word meaning the individual superintendent. This office is also described as an Apostle’s position in Acts 1:20 when the Apostles of Christ
“gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias”. In fact the “office” of an apostle is mentioned by Paul in Romans 11:13
“For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:”
The title of apostle comes from the Greek word apostolos, ap-os'-tol-os; a delegate; specially an ambassador of the Gospel; officially a commissioner of Christ [“apostle”] (with miraculous powers) :- apostle, messenger, he that is sent. This comes from apostello, which means to be set apart, i.e. (by implication) to send out (properly on a mission) literal or figurative :- put in, send (away, forth, out), set [at liberty]. The word apo is primary particle; meaning “off,” i.e. away (from something near), in various senses of place, time, or relation usually denotes separation, departure, cessation, completion, reversal, etc. With the word stello, stel'-lo, which properly means to set fast (“stall”), i.e. (figurative) to repress (reflexive abstain from associating with) :- avoid, withdraw self. This speaks of the practices of Christ as well as the Apostle leadership in the commissioning of the first deacons in Acts 6:4 (KJV) when both Christ and the Apostolic leadership would give themselves over to the ministering of the Word of God instead of serving tables. They would still-away to a place in the Holy Spirit to find the will of God. In fact the word apostello in reverse means to still-away.
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
As one will see the office of Bishop and that of Apostle is the most closely related.
Episkeptomai, ep-ee-skep'-tom-ahee; means o inspect, i.e. (by implication) to select; by extension to go to see, relieve, look out, and visit. So implied by this root he comes to set things in order, but not only this aspect but surely to pitch in when the flock’s leader(s) need some time off and relief , or prayed through some spiritual battle. The word “Epi”, ep-ee, 'in the Greek has many meanings first of which is a superimposition (of time, place, order, etc.), as a relation of distribution, being over; with the result of bringing rest because of directions. Supernaturally given by the Holy Ghost to the Senior Shepherd of the herd or from the Holy Ghost to the bishop and later reported back to the office and the Senior Shepherd for matters of prayer. The result is rest to the flock and its leadership. Not Lordship but foundational intercessional prayer to bless this extensional flock of the herd to speak into the leadership Godly counsel. This idea comes forth from the other word, skopos, skop-os'; to “scope”, this comes from skeptomai meaning to peer about perhaps akin to skapto through the idea of concealment; while comparing skepasma; a watch (sentry or scout), to mark. Skapto, skap'-to; is a primary verb that means to dig. Skepasma, skep'-as-mah; is from a derivative of skepas meaning a covering that is perhaps akin to the base of skopos through the idea of noticeableness; clothing or raiment. Not that any special natural wearing of clothes but the definition given by Paul is that of noticeableness via ones life, lifestyles, and family because of the position of being one who would need more respect among the flocks so that when he speaks into their ministry it would come with more recognition thereby the leadership would be more incline to follow. The “clothing or raiment” would be a spiritual mantle imparted by leadership of the Holy Ghost to the presbytery to be one of deep intercessional prayer for the flocks assigned to the bishop’s charge of the herd. How better else could he be clothed and dig concealing what the Holy Ghost has shown him in the secret place and told him which flock to visit and inspect and how to impart to them. This deep intercessional prayer aspect is indicated by the last verse in scripture where the word bishop is used in:
1 Peter 2:25
For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
Relating to our Lord Jesus Christ as the Bishop of our souls to me speaks of this role of deep intercession as the most superior duty to any other aspect of the office of the bishop.
Our study of this subject goes further as we encounter the verse of some thought in Philip. 1:1
Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:
Therefore since this is twice that bishops and deacons are in relationship in the word here and in 1st Timothy chapters 3, then we need to understand the “office” of deacon and what a deacon is as well. Not only the term deacon is important to this study but the word office has great merit as well. This will undoubtedly upset some traditional thinking.
The word office is used eight times in the New Testament. Three times in relationship to different functions of the priesthood under the old covenant, such as Zacharias’ job to burn the incense, is the word office is used. The same context of function is used when Paul the Apostle write the epistle to the Romans 12 where is word office is used but “function” or “practice” would be a better translation. The only time the word office meaning an official is used correctly is in Romans 11:13;
For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
This word office is the Greek word diakonia, dee-ak-on-ee'-ah; meaning attendance (as a servant, etc.); figurative an aid, (official) service (especially of the Christian teacher, or technical of the diaconate), (ad-) minister (-ing, -tration, -try), office, relief, service . This word comes from the Greek word diakonos. Diakonos, dee-ak'-on-os; is probably from an obsolete diako meaning to run on errands; or an attendant, i.e. a waiter (at table or in other menial duties); specially a Christian teacher and pastor (technically a deacon or deaconess) :- deacon, minister, servant. Comparing this diako to the Greek word dioko whose meaning means to press forward with the virtue of suffering brings some enlighten realities to that of leadership.
All the other times the word “office” is used is in relationship to that of Bishop or Deacon and in this when researching the word “office” with these two official roles it is the same Greek word as the role, in other words in the Greek it would read like “Bishop Bishop” or “Deacon Deacon”. The only exception is the word Apostle in relation to the word office which is as one that has already been expounded, Romans 11:13, is a word that deacon comes from. Therefore there are only three functioning offices in the body of Christ as far as the Presbytery, and these three functioning offices have within their ranks the functioning roles of the five fold ministry and the goals of the Holy Ghost for each individual of the body of Christ unto the body of Christ and beyond. It is true that some of these ministry goals come more natural to others and they have a greater part to play in those characters. But I am understanding that the Eph 4 model is to develop a body that is willing still-away with God, individually, so as to bring back to the body an inspired word song or action because the love of God wants to see the flock feed and kept out of harms way via the Holy Ghost and because the Holy Ghost has imparted to them not only the inspired word but the knowledge with the wisdom of understanding the counsel through the love of the Christ on how to apply this inspired speaking and able to also impart to others. They all then become excited by the move of God go out and tell the world the good news. The foundation is that we encourage every member of the Body of Christ to still-away and find out just exactly what God would have them to bring to the body of Christ, and work with them until they are doing just that. Then the Holy Ghost is building the temple of God just like He did in the natural in the building of Solomon’s Temple when each craftsman had to find out from God just how to make their piece down to the smallest detail and exactly when to bring that piece so that the temple came together without the sound of hammer or chisel
The word desire would seem tantamount in the study of this office of the bishop. It is translated as:
oregomai, or-eg'-om-ahee; means to stretch oneself, i.e. reach out after (long for) :- covet after, desire.
To stretch oneself seems to indicate to me that means to take on more responsibility, a leader of leaders. The Holy Spirit told Moses the same thing through his father in law in the principle that he was to set up leaders in captains of ten captains of hundreds and captains of thousands. This is called niche ministry in some circles of the faith today. In other words let us say that the Holy Ghost called you to be a deacon translated from the Strong’s as:
diakoneo, dee-ak-on-eh'-o; to be an attendant, i.e. wait upon (menially or as a host, friend or [figurative] teacher); techn. (ad-) minister (unto), serve,. This word comes from from Greek word diakonos;
diakonos, dee-ak'-on-os; probably from an obsolete diako (to run on errands; compare dioko; an attendant, i.e. (genitive) a waiter (at table or in other menial duties); specially a Christian teacher and pastor (technically a deacon or deaconess) :- deacon, minister, servant.
So this deacon is to be a attendant and to run errands as a waiter of tables. This office was first installed because Peter desired to be given to the prayer and ministry of the Word instead of spending his days serving tables making sure that the needs of the needy poor (ie widows) were being meet) in Acts chapter 6:
Acts 6:1-8 (KJV)
1 And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.
2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
6 Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.
7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.
8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.
Deacons are the ministers that are hands on. They are teachers and Pastors? According to the Strong’s definition or the root word this is exactly right, but regardless if they have a pastor’s anointing or not they are to be teachers. Just because you have an anointing to fulfill a certain position in the five fold ministry does not mean that is what you are currently doing, there is a process of being placed and growing into your gifts and callings. (Bishops are also to be teachers.) They are willing to get their hands dirty while doing their ministry making room for those who are called to the ministry of the Word, or rather the deep intersession of prayer and fasting so that the Word can be ministered in power. “The ministry of the Word”, a servant of the Word the word of the Holy Ghost, finding the heart and mind of Christ interceding with fasting and prayer doing warfare in the spiritual realm for the free course of the Holy Ghost and His Word here in the earth.
Yet Stephen was full of faith and power. So were Christ’s disciples, and Christ let them serve the needs of the people while He spent time in the secret place getting the impartation of the Holy Ghost from the Father and taking this faith and power and imparting to the disciples. They in turn went out in the Holy Power of God, even before the Holy Spirit had been distributed.
From the definition and the roots of the first word bishop used then we understand
1) he is a superintendant-to be responsible for and supervise something such as projects or jobs
2) he inspects go sees or visits
3) relief is a virtue, fills in as needed
4) distribution with direction
5) watches over
6) and wears a mantle willing to dig in Spiritual realm for his constituents .
[2] A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
And
Titus 1:7
For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;
From the second time the word bishop is used we understand that he is a Christian officer in general charge. He has many of the traits of the deacon just a more narrow walk. Hospitality and “apt to teach” are some keys to puzzle. So is a steward, not selfwilled, not given to filthy lucre as to keep him from robbing the body of Christ.
What I am seeing in the Spirit is let us say that you have one who has a Pastor’s annointing. So he obtains some sheep. Just a few but in time the sheep begin to multiply, for the Shepherd has been a good steward and protected and nurtured the flock. As the flock grows into a herd he needs help! Some to help with the mechanics of the work such as making sure the herd has green grass and good water, helping the weak ones to heal and making sure they are taken care of, the Word of God names them as a deacon. And some of these have a desire and call to be a Shepherd too one day because they have a way of communication to the sheep a inborn instinct to protect them from the enemy, the Word of God names them as pastors. The deacon may or may not have this protection virtue but have a desire to serve the Master Shepherd and serve the needs of the sheep, but some do not have a desire to have a herd of their own. Now as this herd keeps growing there are certain of these helpers that have natural leadership qualities and are willing to stretch themselves a bit and fill in when and where necessary moving these helpers to where is most needed in order to serve the needs of the herd and the Master Shepherd, I believe the Word of God names them as Bishops. Notice that all of these are apart of the same herd. The underling pastor is watching and learning looking to one day when the time is right and the Master Shepherd cuts him out a small flock to start with, because the Master Shepherd has the desire to see his love of life grow in others and for them to one day have a great work too like the Lord blessed him with. Probably, but not necessarily, the Master Shepherd will choose the pastors that have stretch themselves and have overseen the work of the herd by virtue of being responsible both to the sheep and the underlings of the Master teaching the impartations that have been granted to them and who have the natural inclination of the protection and growth of the sheep.
:
Paul under the guide of the Master Shepherd went with other to Philippi (Acts 16) sent there by the Holy Ghost in a dream given to Paul the Apostle (sent one) When there they following the leading of the Spirit down by the river and did the work of an evangelist and won a Lady and her house hold to Christ. They get thrown in jail for testifying of Jesus. The jail house rocks under the power of the Holy Ghost and a jailer is converted and His household. In all this the Holy Ghost uses Paul to with these other preachers (inspired speakers or prophets) Silas, Timothy, and Luke Acts 15 & 16 (Luke wrote acts and mentions “we” in 16:16)
The foundation is laid they start to grow the herd and they need help. Those with the gift of never meeting a stranger and will go in spite of the peril with the boldness of the Holy Ghost to when the lost (Evangelists). Those who have the gift of teaching, who can impart the truths and apologetics of the word of God (teachers and deacons). Those whom God is raising up to protect and nurture the herd to have healthy growth (The Pastors). And those who will help coordinate the work as it grows, and the need is warranted, the Bishops.
You see the Master Shepherd is the Shepherd and Bishop of all the souls of the flock. He stills away and ministers to the Word and the Holy Ghost so that he can impart into the under-bishops who in turn impart into the deacons (teachers and preachers) who teach or preach but ensample the flock
This is a system or education and raising up divinely inspired by the Holy Ghost to build and supply the church.
1 Peter 5:1-7 (KJV)
1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
I realize this will upset some traditional thinking, but I must go with what the Word of the Lord and the Holy Ghost is presenting in these word-smiths
So the deacon one could say is the entry level of going into the ministry, to help a Shepherd meet the needs of the herd so that the feeble ones are not left out or over-looked. The deacons can have the gifts and callings of many different aspects of ministry but this is a developmental position. Many will progress on but many others will stay right in this position which is noted as a teacher and servant in the Word.
The bishops come up from these ranks to help the Shepherd coordinate and report back to the Shepherd. To fill in when and as needed among the deacons. They go and inspect and visit with many different deacons and impart to them what the Shepherd as imparted to them.
The word “elders” is a combinational word that means to come along side and older which speaks to me of a submissive one who has been around for a while. But notice that the elders in 1 Peter 5 have many of the same attributes as a bishop. Therefore they are virtually the same except the elders have been ministering for a very long time. And while in the past they may have been in different roles of the ministry they are not to let their knowledge and understanding go to waste but they are to come along side the Shepherd or deacons and bishops and pass on the heritage of the faith to the youth. Then these youth will be inspired to enter into the ministry as well. “Among you” would seem to indicate that the “elders” would be more centrally located and would not have the “stretching oneself and visiting aspect of the bishop” , but more than able to fill in when and as needed to the local assembly.
Notice this system is one of support. It is foundational rather than Lordship.
2 Cor. 1:24
Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.
Ephesians 4:11-13 (KJV)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
Notice deacons, bishops and elders are not mentioned hear, but are certainly integrated. Therefore the thought that the aspects of each of these ministry roles are goals of the Holy Ghost seem evident, that the body to come into understanding and unity of the faith or of the revelation of God. Maybe this is why the last book of the Holy Bible is named Revelation because we are coming into an individual relationship of revelation faith that will affect and nurture the body of Christ even to the glory of God’s presence manifesting Christ with us as He has been in us, Heaven.
