PERCHANCE TO DREAM
by
Rev. S.R. Elwood
© 1999

Perchance to dream upon a night
Perchance to see by vision sight
Perchance to feel His Holy Might,
My Savior Lord and King

By night while drifting off to sleep
By might secure within His Keep
By Grace on pathway straight and steep,
I’m safe within His Hand

And when my eyes shall open there
And when I stand on Holy Stair
And when His Voice within my ear,
Well done my child come in

Then to know my faith was just
As here I work for Him, a must
While placing souls within His Trust,
Beneath His Rugged Tree

And on that day perchance to dream
Within His eye a Holy Gleam
As Trumpet Sounds the earth to glean,
A tear within my eye

For all the lost I could not reach
For all the sermons yet to preach
For all the lessons yet to teach,
I weep in great despair

But then He stands beside my side
And there He Stops the teary tide
Forevermore I shall abide,
On Heavens Golden Shore

Perchance to dream of future day
When He my soul shall call away
When then in death my shell shall lay,
REDEEMED FOREVERMORE.

THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION AND STATEMENT
YOU WILL EVER READ OR HEAR

JESUS CHRIST IS LORD OF ALL,
BUT,
HAVE YOU MADE HIM LORD OF YOUR LIFE?

by
Rev. S.R. Elwood D.D.
© 2003

This question is the most important question you will ever be asked or answer. If Christ Jesus is not Lord of your life, you are heading for eternal punishment. If you have not asked Him by Name, Out Loud to Forgive you for your Sins and if you have not, Out Loud, told Him that you Believe that He is the Only Begotten Son of the Living God;
You are headed for an eternity burning in the lake of fire that God prepared for Lucifer and all of the angels which followed him in his rebellion against God.

Though it is most certainly true that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD OF ALL, of Everything that exists, He Can Not and Will Not become Lord of your life unless you ask Him to.

He will not force Himself upon anyone; ever because He created us as creatures of free will, fully able to choose.
Jesus died upon the Cross to Buy Back from Sin and Death Everyone that will Believe His Words and accept Him as Savior and Lord. To be bought back you must activate His Holy Blood that Cleanses us from all unrighteousness by three simple steps.

You must Believe in Him with all of your heart, completely and fully, no exceptions no excuses.
You must Ask Him Out Loud to be your Savior and Lord; though He knows All of our thoughts and All of our silent desires the enemy Does Not and we must be willing to take a public stand for Christ. You must receive within your heart, your inner being, the fact that He is who He says He Is and that He is able to do what He says He can and will do.
The answer you give will determine your eternal future.
You cannot fool God with a lame fake external answer like you can people.

Now let’s try this again.

JESUS CHRIST IS LORD OF ALL,
BUT,
HAVE YOU MADE HIM LORD OF YOUR LIFE?

THE VALLEY
by
Rev. S.R. Elwood

As slowly I walk through the valley
It seems that I'm all alone
I asked the Lord to walk with me
With sorrow my soul starts to moan,

He promised to teach and to guide me
To ease my burden and need
Still yet my soul is a'wanting
My faith is starting to bleed,

Then torrents around me are running
No shelter for me from the rain
The valley is deep and so barren
My shoulders so ache from the strain,

Then sunshine streams into the valley
His sweet smiling face I do see
The showers it seems were a blessing
But fear had its hold over me,

"The valley is made to catch blessings,"
My Lord so gently did speak,
"The sides there guide them right to you
You’ll find them if My Grace you seek"

Don't fret over things of the future
Your future is safe in His hand
Your path the Master is guiding
Towards Heaven, our Sweet Cannen Land.

HEAVEN WEEPS
by
Rev. S.R. Elwood
© 2001

Standing just inside the portal
Awaits the Christ who died for Thee
Risen now Eternal Living
Waiting for Thy face to see.

But in life you would not choose Him
And to hell you now must go
Heaven weeps as you’re descending
And Holy Tears from Christ does flow.

Lift your voice and call on Jesus
While on earth you still have breath
Don’t wait until your time is ending
When your eyes shall close in death.

Precious Jesus, Risen Savior
Oh Holy Lamb my Coming King
Let I pray these words have meaning
That souls to Thee Lord I might bring.

Laying treasures up in heaven
Placing souls within Thy hand
Lead me Lord as here I journey
Onward, upward to Glory Land.

QUEST OF LOVE
by
Rev. S.R. Elwood
© 2001

Kneeling at the cross of Jesus
Trading sin for life sublime
Bathing in His Blood Eternal
Basking in His Love Divine.

Praying at the cross of Jesus
For the lost ones I do know
Trying to guide them to the Father
Through Christ’s Holy Cleansing Flow.

Worshipping the Christ, the Master
Praising Jesus for His Love
Leading souls into His Presence
Looking home to God above.

Winning souls in this great battle
For the Christ, my Rock, my Guide
Till my time on earth is over
Until with Jesus I abide.

Kneeling in His Holy Presence
My fight on earth now finally won
Feeling tight His Arms around me
Hearing Him say, “Child well done.”

Are you working for the Master?
As you pass along the way
Are you fighting in the battle?
To save the lost from judgment day?

THE SANDS OF TIME
by
Rev. S.R. Elwood D.D.
© 2003

Footprints through the sands of time
Criss and cross, some of them mine,
But by them all at times ignored
Stand out the footprints of the Lord.

We oft ignore Him as we walk
Though He’s always there and He’ll never balk,
But we disregard Him through time and deed
Until the time we are in need.

We act as if He’s our holy slave
Remembering not His life He gave,
And though most times we don’t deserve
He stays right there our needs to serve.

But when the time of life is o’er
And we think we’re bound for heavens shore,
Have we done all that He said
When He Arose up from the dead?

* * * * * * *

Mark 16:15
And he said unto them,
Go ye into all the world,
and preach the gospel to every creature.

* * * * * * *

John 14:15
If ye love me,
keep my commandments.

* * * * * * *

Luke 10: 17 – 20
17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

* * * * * * *

Have we preached the word as told
Have we been for Christ so bold?
Or have we pushed the task away
To do it on some other day?

But just suppose that day’s not come
When you stand before God’s Son,
Will He hug and hold you tight
Or send you to eternal night?

* * * * * * *

Matthew 24: 45 – 51
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

* * * * * * *

Mark 16; 14 – 20
14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

* * * * * * *

Are you faithful are you wise,
Are you searching yonder skies?
For The One Who Set You Free
Upon Golgotha’s Bloody Tree?

Are you ready for the time
He will return with joy sublime?
Will you be a faithful one
Will you for Christ have souls you’ve won?

Or,

As a servant are you slack
With talent buried in a sack,
Or have you planted seeds of life
To increase the Bride, The Church, Christ’s Wife?

Don’t let His coming find you asleep
Make sure your soul in safety keep,
Or find yourself at God’s left hand
To depart eternal from Cannan’s land.

* * * * * * *

Matthew 25: 14 – 46
14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.
16 Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.
17 And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two.
18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money.
19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them.
20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.
21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
22 He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.
23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
(KJV)

WHAT CAN I DO?
by
Rev. S.R. Elwood D.D.
© 2003

With all the cries for help around
When all the needs for help abound
Where all about tis sorrow found,
Some ask what can I do?

They ask without a thought in heart
They’ve no intent their help to start
They ask to look the caring part,
Some ask what can I do?

To look the part so praise they get
When with the wealthy they do sit
To play the game their nod’s to get,
Some ask what can I do?

Around the earth the poor are found
Without a roof they sleep on ground
The food they eat is what ere they’ve found,
Some ask what can I do?

What can I do is heard the cry
From land to land and land to sky
What can I do, no to tears to dry,
They ask what can I do?

If all who ask would feel in heart
And really were their help to start
To all in need their love impart,
Tell me, What can you do?

What can you do what will you do
Will you to Christ yourself be true
Will you give help can you, will you,
What will you do today?
