The Golden City(Mal Pope & Julie Costello) Soon your trials will be over Offered up by mercy's hand A better view from where you stand Going to another land The sweetest welcome from the Father Gathered up and carried home We are past this time of waiting Come let us bow before Your throne CHORUS: We will meet in the Golden City in the New Jerusalem All our pain and all our tears will be no more We will stand with the hosts of heaven And cry holy is the Lamb We will worship and adore You evermore Never can the powers of darkness Neither death nor even life Let nothing ever separate us From the holy love of God Holy, holy, holy is the Lamb Holy, holy, holy is the Lamb
A worship song originally written as a traditional hymn by John M. Harris, made into a contemporary tune by Andy Bromley. The lyrics speak about the wonders of finding our salvation in Christ and what that means in relation to our sin, our relationship with God, and our eternity spent with Him. Romans 3:21-24 tells us that there is a righteousness from God that comes through faith in Jesus Christ. All of us have sinned, but have been justified freely by God's grace through Christ's sacrifice for us. What this means is that our sins have been atoned for, that we are now God's children because of Christ's righteousness, and that we shall reign with Him in eternity because of the salvation Christ has brought us. Indeed this is something that we should be praising God for, declaring that He is our wonderful Saviour.
