SUNRISE & SUNSET
By: Lillian Carol Russell

Beauty painted on the canvas of the sky,
A feast to delight the human eye.

Painted daily by the master’s hand,
The colors flow at His command.

How much beauty there must be,
In heaven yet for us to see.

John 14:1
"Do not let your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in Me."

Psalm 51:10 …Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right Spirit within me.

THE SEASONS OF OUR LIVES
By; Lillian Carol Russell

Our lives are like the seasons; childhood is the spring,
Full of beauty and promise, youth, a beautiful thing.

Then summer overtakes us, this is when we grow,
The Master must do some weeding though.

Seasons of laughter, of heartaches and tears,
The process takes so many years.

Fall overtakes us after middle age, we’ve flowered and lost our bloom,
But with knowledge gained and glory bound there is no time for gloom.

Winter finds us feeble, hair of white and moving slow,
Not a lot of get-up left in our go.

But we are not sad that winter is here,
Because our journey to heaven, like springtime is getting near.

There we’ll bloom in full glory once more,
Made whole again and glorified on heaven’s golden shore.

JAMES 4:14 ...Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

ATTITUDES

By:Lillian Carol Russell
Attitudes are contagious and can be passed along,
May yours be as sweet as the bird’s morning song!
As you travel through the hours of the day,
May everyone you meet be glad you passed their way!

Jesus is our personal link between man and the divine, loving God. Above all let us be thankful for the gift of eternal life through our savior Jesus Christ.

A TIME FOR LAUGHTER,
A TIME FOR TEARS,
THIS PART OF ME I LEAVE WITH YOU,
LIKE SANDS IN THE HOUR GLASS,
FLOWING THROUGH THE YEARS.

Memorial To Lost Flight LA-9

Poetry and short stories by Lillian Carol Russell.

On these pages are memories that touched my heart, laughter and tears, moments in time that have taught me lessons of living and have drawn me ever closer to my Jesus.

Love is like a bed of roses,
There are many thorns.
The path to happiness lies in learning to avoid the thorns,
While enjoying the roses. By: Lillian Carol Russell

Proverbs 28:5 …"Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand all things."

The Journey

By: Lillian Carol Russell

How quickly go the days, how swiftly fly the years,
Just sitting while the dew dries, recalling laughter, wiping tears.

My childhood days as I recall crept by so very slow,
I wished them gone for I had things to do and places I must go.

Always in a hurry I did travel down life's road,
Adding burdens everyday collecting quite a load.

I piled them high until my back was bent,
Youth and energy all were spent.

We raised a daughter and a son,
They're both grown now my parenting is done.

Now what is left, what is left for me?
I thank my God at last I see.

The journey is it's own reward,
The grandbabies, the birds, the flowers in the yard.

It's not getting there at last I know,
It's enjoying the trip as through life we go.

Isaiah 43:2 …When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the river, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

This is a beautiful quote so well written and speaks volumes. My thanks to Stacy for sharing her thoughts. -Stacy Maddox Leverette
"Today I learned a very valuable lesson: Children are much more aware of what is going on in their heart and mind than you think. They see more than you show and hear more than you say. They can look in your eyes and tell you if you are sincere. They are both fragile, yet resilient at the same time. If you delve deep enough, you will hold the very essence of innocence in your hands."

Matthew 7:12 ...Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them:

"I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness because it shows me the stars." -Og Mandino
