From the Pastor…

A note from Father Metzler……

Having a new pastor-or for that matter any new priest-join a parish is rather like going on a blind date.  For all concerned, there’s a mixture of hope with no small dash of apprehension.  And that’s where we all find ourselves just now.  “Will he like us?” “Will they like me?” “How’s this all going to work?”  All natural enough questions and ones that can cause no end of anxiety unless we remember that we are all children of a loving God who calls us to live in His love, to be as forgiving as He is, to embrace our differences and struggles as ways to grow and experience His creation as it enfolds around us each day.  In the days and years ahead, let us remember to pray for one another, to appreciate the manifold gifts he has given each of us, and to work together to build up the Kingdom of God.  I for one thank that loving God that He in His unfathomable wisdom has called me to ministry and, at this time in my life, to ministry here.  May it be a time of joy and growth for all of us.  God’s blessings; let us walk with God each day.
