Pastor Jason Conrad McCants was born in Brooklyn, New York to Deacon Albert C. McCants and Deaconess Helen R. McCants. They knew that he was a blessing even before he was born. Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.* Jeremiah 1:5 As a young child Rev. McCants was able learn and quote scripture even to the amazement of his nursery school teachers.
As a teen, Pastor McCants knew he had a call on his life which he tried to run from.Many sleepless nights and God given dreams came.
Pastor McCants finally answered the call to ministry at the age of seventeen,and on February 1, 1992, he preached his initial sermon entitled "God Will Take Care of You" from the book of Job. He knew he was called and chosen for a purpose; therefore, Pastor McCants enrolled himself into the New York Theological Seminary and graduated in 1995. His theme for this momentous occasion was "Satan's ploys are no match for the Savior's Power.” The moto was "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper" coming from Isaiah 54:17. On December 28, 1997 Rev. Jason McCants was ordained as Assistant to the Pastor of New Gethsemane Baptist Church.
Pastor McCants has remained faithful to New Gethsemane Baptist Church. His father in the ministry; the late pastor Rev. James Benjamin Cross knew that God had something special planned for his life, so he didn't mind giving him an oportunity to use the God given gifts. Pastor McCants can preach, teach, sing, and play the organ.On December 2,2006 he was officially installed as pastor of the New Gethsemane Baptist Church.Pastor McCants believes he has beencalled to mature the body of Christ,help the lost find Christ,and to help individuals fullfill their purpose inChrist.
Pastor McCants gives God all the honor and the glory for all He has done.
