                                                                                        GIVE ME A MAN

"Give me a man" was the challenge of Goliath, the might man of Philistine, to the Israel and the king Saul. We can read the full story it in the book of 1 Samuel chapter Seventeen .The backslidden Saul and his army could not face the challenge."The Philistine drew near and presented himself forty days , morning and evening ...And all of the men of Israel ,when they saw the man,fled from him,and were dreadfully afraid" 1Sumel.17.16-24.
This story also bring a timely challenge before us.The church today is challenged from all sides. They are giant-sized as GOLIATH. Challenge of nationalism, challenge of paganism,challenge of godless communism ,challenge of paganism, challenge of moral degradation,challenge of false cults,challenge of formal and nominal Christianity,etc.King Saul and all Israel here represent a backslidden Church.For we read in 1 Samuel .16.14 ,that "the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul" When the people of Israel heard the challenge of Goliath ,the Philistine,"they were dismayed and greatly afraid.1Sau.17.11.They,sure, were backslidden.

The challenge that Philistine brought before Israel was so great ,"give a man" to combat with Goliath to conquer the Israel.GOD TOO LOOK A MAN !A man to stand -in the gap. To show Himself mighty on his behalf.2Chr.16.9. It is true that Israel failed but GOD had His man for the HOUR. His name is David.yes,the man whom GOD now delights to honour, for he is a man after His own heart.

This is GOD's way even today. GOD chooses ordinary people to manifest His extraordinary power and might.David was neither a priest,king nor a full-fledged soldier. He was just feeding his father's sheep at Bethlehem,but the Spirit of the Lord was upon him. We are to learn this great truth in our lives and ministry. Victory is neither by sword nor by spear but by the Spirit.David said "then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord's.1Sau.17.47.This is the word of the Lord to you today what He said to Zerubabel,..not by might not by power ,but MY SPIRIT.....Who are you,O great mountain ? before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain..Zech.4.6-7..

The story of in this chapter ends with David who standing before ing Saul with head of the Philistine in his hand!!There was no sword in the hand of David .He cut off the head of Goliath with Goliath's sword itself .This is Victory plus more than conquerors.Dears in the Lord,Do not fear opposition even when it seems stronger or better supported.Be assured that GOD can use your minimal resources. When accompanied by great faith ,to over come whatever obstacles you face. Do not despise small opportunities ,Understand that they prepare us for bigger battles.

Do you know that GOD is looking woman and man for the Church to face the challenge of the world and conquer the world. GOD is committing the task of writing the last chapter of Church history and of world evangelism to you. YES GOD wants you to be for Him and His people. GOD also looking you to be a part of His work that He Himself doing through MISSIONS ASIA.
