JESUS THE ROSE IN THE BOOK
SOFT PETALS OF POETRY BY RUTHIE

THE ROSE WITHIN THE BOOK
The rose within the book
I could not believe what I saw so I took another look
There between the sentences every verse and every line
I saw the rose unfolding its beauty touched this heart of mine
As I traced the petals, the leaves and the vine
The beautiful Rose of Sharon unfolded within this heart of mine
The petals were like velvet, the colors deepest red wine
O' Beautiful Rose of Sharon
Shed abroad your beauty within this life of mine
Fill my life with service that lasts through time
O' Beautiful Rose of Sharon
May my eyes always see you in you Word Divine?
There between the pages every verse and every line
A picture is unfolding of the Savior sent to save mankind
O' Jesus when I looked at your beauty
Within your word untwine
I knew I would serve you down through time

When I was a new Christian, and the Holy Spirit was teaching me the Word of God it became alive and powerful to me. While I was reading the Psalms one morning, a beautiful red rose unfolded before me on the pages. I never shared this experience with anyone, but the Holy Spirit kept bringing it to my mind for many years and it is still there etched in my heart. When I began to write Poetry it came forward in my mind by the prompting of the Holy Spirit. That is how the poem the Rose within the book came about.
(Song of Solomon 2:1)
I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys.

(Isaiah 35)
Joy of the Redeemed
The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God. Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way;
say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you." Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped. Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert. The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs. In the haunts where jackals once lay, grass and reeds and papyrus will grow. And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk in that Way; wicked fools will not go about on it. No lion will be there, nor will any ferocious beast get up on it; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there, and the ransomed of the LORD.

Gods Word Endures
Heaven and earth will pass away
Yet in my heart your word will forever stay
Though the mountains be cast into the sea
Still your word will be guiding me
When it thunders and the earth begins to shake
Not one promise in Your word will You break
Your word is a beacon in the darkest night
Your word calms all my fears and fright
Your word will stand through floods and fire
And deliver this child from the earthly mire
Your word is a healing balm indeed
Your word is always what I need
Your word will stand till eternity rolls
Your word will keep every redeemed soul
Your word is a good measuring line
Your word is pure holy and kind
Your word guides, teaches and equips
Your word is beautiful on your children’s lips
With the beauty of Your word that has lasted through time

(Colossians 3:16)
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord
(Matthew 24:35)
Heaven and earth shall pass, but my words shall not pass away.
(Psalms 102:25-26)
