In James it tells us that all the animals, birds, etc can be tamed, but the tongue no man can tame. When I was a child and other kids were mean and right down bullies to others, my Mother always told me to say "stick and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me." That is just not true, children of God, (words do hurt.)
I have seen the tongues of man; maim, and hurt a soul, so deeply that a beautiful soul may never recover. In this small town where I live in Wyoming gossip runs rampant if there is nothing to say about somebody, they make up something, and then all the ears who heard the gossip run to spread the evil venom all over as the story changes by the time it has reached the end.
Oh God have mercy on us because this poison runs rampant in the Churches also, who are only supposed to speak words of kindness, words of peace, and words to build up the body of Christ. When I think about this I can see our Savior Christ with big tears in His eyes.
Churches have been torn apart by lying deceitful tongues. Christians have gone away from the secular churches because of evil hateful lying words said about someone or to them by the deadly deceitful tongues. We are going to have to answer in this life about the way we use our tongues. Whether we bless with them, or curse with them. When I was a new Christian there were those in the Church who made it their lives work to gossip and tell me about all of the pastors faults. These same Christians went to Church on Sunday and acted as though sugar wouldn’t melt in their mouths. Sometimes I felt as though I was being drawn down into a slimy pit of poisonous venom.
I would ask you my brethren to be slow to speak and swift to listen.
When I was a child and then as a wife I was told I was to stupid to ever be able to do anything or even play a musical instrument, or to sing, or just to breathe. God has proved them all wrong and if God is for you who can be against you.
Words hurt and break your spirit, they give you low self esteem, they often lead to suicide, and depression.
Praise God for His Words that brings healing, revival, and renewal, that speaks peace and tender words of kindness. Jesus is the healer of wounded hearts and broken lives. He will put your life back together again and show forth His beauty in your life. The more broken you are, the more His light shines through you.
Christians I ask by all that is holy please don’t gossip? And if we do I pray that God will show us what we are doing and how we are hurting one of His children.
Father God, I come before your throne asking you to heal all that has been wounded, and maimed in the body of Christ. Gather your wounded ones from the four corners of the earth and heal and promote them, to put to shame the results of the deadly tongue. Father forgive any of us who may have spread hurtful gossip about others. In Jesus name I pray

(James 3: 7-17
7. All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man,
8. but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
9. With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness.
10. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be.
11. Can both fresh water and saltwater flow from the same spring?
12. My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.
Two Kinds of Wisdom
13. Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.
14. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.
15. Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil.
16. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
17. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
18. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.
