Field Trips
As Christians, we realize how important it is for us to make a witness for Christ in all that we do, including field trips. Please review these Field Trip Guidelines to help us be considerate of the people and places that allow us to visit them, as well as each other.

Field Trip Guidelines
- Make reservations on time with the field trip coordinator. If there is any money involved, please turn it in ahead of time. Please don't wait to pay on the day of the field trip unless you are instructed to do so. Don't expect to attend any field trip that requires reservations if you haven't made the appropriate arrangements.
- You can prepare ahead for the field trip by discussing in advance with your children things to observe, questions to ask, appropriate behavior, etc. Please maintain a "don't touch" policy with your children unless the field trip is very interactive (like making pizzas, or modeling clay).
- Modest dress is always appropriate, for both children and adults. You will be notified if any special conditions require a particular mode of dress.
- Try to be about 15 minutes early for every field trip.
- Parents are expected to attend field trips with their own children unless arrangements are made for another parent to supervise your children. Any time you send your child with another parent, you must let the field trip coordinator know in advance. Your child's behavior and safety are your responsibility.
- We have made it a policy to present our contact person for each field trip with a token of our appreciation — a batch of homemade cookies, even a thank-you card, is always appreciated. Please volunteer to participate in this ministry to those outside the homeschool community. If you do volunteer, please make sure to follow through with your commitment.
- Pre-paid fees for field trips may not be refundable.
- A field trip will be cancelled automatically if public schools are closed due to poor weather conditions.
Any OBCHE activity may have additional, specific guidelines imposed by the appropriate coordinator.
