Pastor James M. Willis

Pastor James M. Willis was born in Columbia, Mississippi to Leon and Edna R. Willis on July 25, 1957 Elder Willis Moved to San Francisco in 1966 and lived there until 1981when he moved to Fairbanks, Alaska. Moved Fairbanks he attended grade school and Junior high school. He also attended the University of Fairbanks Where he majored in Criminal Justice. He finished at Saints College in Lexington, Mississippi. Pastor Willis was filled with the Holy Ghost and called to the ministry in Lexington, Mississippi under Dr. A Mallory in 1975.
Pastor Willis Attended First Church and Lily of the Valley while in Fairbanks. His former position with the state brought him to Anchorage where he worshipped at Antioch under the late Bishop W. A. Webb as a Minister and a Musician. After the Death of Bishop Webb, Elder Willis was appointed Associate Pastor to the late Superintendent Odell Townsend. On March 15, 1998 Elder Willis was appointed as Pastor of Antioch COGIC, under the Leadership of Bishop Charles D. Williams, Jurisdictional Prelate of the State of Alaska. It has been an active and sometimes tumultuous beginning as Pastor, but as Pastor Willis perseveres through the years he stands firm in saying, “Follow me as I follow Christ”.
Pastor Willis is a dynamic preacher, singer, prayer warrior, musician, and police officer.
On September 24, 1983 he was married to a lovely lady named Robin S. Gibbons. God blessed the union with children; Yolanda, Anthony, Darius, Dorena, Jessica. God Bless them with two additional children Desiree Springer and Dontreal Willis and other foster children throughout the years have they cared for with open and loving arms.
