Rocky's "Short Tail"

Welcome to "love your pets".
This site is dedicated to what I hope will be a VERY LONG life
for my new friend "Rocky Balboa".

Rocky is a brindle Boxer who is just about a year old and had been
homeless for nearly 3 months. When my wife and I got to him he was
covered in fleas and ticks but had the SWEETEST personality.
It was hard for us to believe someone would have left him in those
conditions.

When we got him home, we took him to the vet and gave him the old
"once over". We thought we were getting a clean bill of health because
everyone was telling us how sweet he is and that his weight is good
and then all of the test started coming in...

All were good EXCPET one. HEART WORM.

We were devestated!!! How could someone not take care of such a sweet dog???
The good news is it is treatable and no longer a death sentence like it used to be.
The bad news is it will take us 4 months to clear it up with several rounds of shots.
Our Vet tells us he will be a bit uncomfortable during that time and we are to keep him
as calm as possible.

If the person who owned "Rocky" had just taken the correct measures to keep him safe
then he would not be in this postion now. We will take care of him no matter what and along
the way, hopefully we can share some pointers on what you can do to help your "friends"
in their time of need. After all, they ARE family, too.
